Marvel Legends Retro Ghost Rider & Disney+ She-Hulk Figures Up for Order!

There’s no rest for weary Marvel Legends collectors, as
Hasbro has continued to roll out a couple new 6” Marvel Legends figures for pre-orders despite the reveal and subsequent PO for the Disney+ Legends Khonshu Series earlier this month. Completing the Infinity Ultron Series and giving us a ML Retro Collection packaging type we’ve not seen before from Hasbro, Marvel Legends She-Hulk and Retro Ghost Rider are now up for order!

Marvel Legends Ghost Rider Retro and She-Hulk TV Figures

It’s been a long road for the Disney+ Wave 3 Marvel Legends, but a “mere” 8 months after the first two characters in the series were revealed (Clint Barton and Kate Bishop Hawkeyes), the whole set is finally available for ordering!

Not only did the long-awaited new Disney+ She-Hulk premiere its first episode last Thursday, but Hasbro launched pre-orders for the previously revealed MCU She-Hulk Legends figure that same day.

Marvel Legends She-Hulk Disney+ Figure and Accessories

The bad news is that we’re only getting a singular figure from the She-Hulk live-action series at this time: Shulkie herself. I know a lot of fans were hoping for more characters such as Abomination, but we’ve seen now that Hasbro is not adverse to putting characters from past shows in new waves, so perhaps for Wave 5?

Close-Up Of Marvel Legends Infinity Ultron Series She-Hulk Figure

I think the actual costume and paint/sculpting details on this new Marvel Legends figure look great, but the neutral expression looks just plain blah. This is an instance where an additional smiling or angry portrait would have added a tremendous amount of personality.

Just getting fists and open palms as accessories feels quite lame to me, like Jennifer Walters is not being done Justice. She’ll include the left leg of the Infinity Ultron BAF, though, so she’ll be an essential pickup for many collectors nonetheless.

Retro Ghost Rider Marvel Legends Vintage Packaging Figure

The other new recent preorder is something else entirely, as Hasbro celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Ghost Rider (who first appeared in 1972) with their first-ever Ghost Rider Toybiz-style packaging throwback figure!

Marvel Legends Johnny Blaze Retro Ghost Rider Figure and Accessories

I remember seeing the Toybiz Ghost Rider series in toy magazines as a kid and being hyped for them in 1995, but ultimately passing on the whole set due to unfamiliarity with most of the characters at the time.

Even so, I have great memories of this moody dark-and-fiery packaging, and it puts a big dumb smile on my face to see Hasbro bringing it back for this Retro Johnny Blaze figure.

Transforming Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze Head on 2022 Marvel Legends Action Figure

There’s nothing revolutionary about this Marvel Legends Ghost Rider figure (well, besides that wild melty-looking Johnny Blaze swap-out head), but this vintage-packaged figure looks really solid overall. The flaming chain and fiery skeleton hands are stellar accessories, and I appreciate the flame effects add-ons as well.

The soon-to-be-announced Marvel HasLab project for 2022 is rumored to be Ghost Rider themed as well, and this will make a great complement to that if so (and a nice alternative for those without hundreds to drop on a Haslab).

Marvel Legends She-Hulk and Ghost Rider are both up for order now, with an anticipated arrival this winter (with Shulkie arriving before Johnny). Johnny Blaze is priced higher because of the premium packaging and accessories (which is rather frustrating given prices for regular 6” action figures already being as high as they are).

Thoughts on the latest pair of ML pre-orders coming our way from Hasbro, Marvel collectors? Are you enjoying the She-Hulk Disney+ series, and would you be delighted if this year’s Haslab did turn out to be a Ghost Rider Hell Charger?

  1. She-Hulk looks great and has a very strong resemblance to her TV show counterpart but I’m happy with my Super Skrull BAF version. The Johnny Blaze head has me on the fence regarding Ghost Rider.

  2. When I was a small lad, my older sister got me a Toybiz Ghost Rider for a present…and promptly had to return it, because I was unfamiliar with the character at the time and this flaming skeleton man scared the snot out of me. I still kick myself for that.

What I’m saying is, I’m not gonna let this Ghost Rider figure pass me by.

  3. FYI: I read an article yesterday about a Marvel Legends collector purchasing two figures in the new boxes only to discover that they had been switched for WWE figures when he unboxed them… at TWO different stores! He managed to score the legit figures at a third store but the moral of the story is out there. I know figure/accessory switching is nothing new but with this new packaging collectors (especially MOC collectors) are walking in blindfolded when they shop in the wild. I know the easy solution is to simply order online but it sucks that the feeling a collector gets when one hits the store at “the perfect time” only to arrive home and open the packages to furiating disappointment and return the bogus items to the store (which will probably get re-shelved) and have to go elsewhere. Be mindful fellow collectors.

  4. I’m probably getting the She Hulk because she’s more like she was in the FF/Avengers period in comics (luckily the current TV show gives her that similar look). I wasn’t going to give Ghost Rider a second look, but that alternate head is amazing. Changing my mind perhaps.
