Marvel Legends Target Exclusive Retro Spider-Man and Moon Knight Figures

Moon Knight has had a significant surge in popularity in recent years, and while the modern comics and Disney+ MCU looks have had more availability, it’s the classic comic books Moon Knight Legends figure that is most sought after by fans. Thankfully, the fan-favorite vintage-packaged Marvel Legends Retro series now exists, allowing Hasbro to do single releases of in-demand characters. And thus, two new Target Elusive Marvel Legends figures are now up for PO: Moon Knight and… a modified version of last year’s First Appearance Spider-Man?

Spider-Man Marvel Legends CHASM Retro Series Figure REVIEW (Hasbro 2023)

Review Chasm Marvel Legends 2023 Hasbro Action Figure

Sometimes, prominent classic characters like Mephisto and Madelyne Pryor never make it into Marvel Legends figure production at all after decades of requests from fans. And sometimes, we get characters like the demented post-psychoactive goo villainous clone of Spider-Man as toys less than a year and a half after his first appearance. Fair or unfair, the Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Chasm figure has started shipping out—is this crazed, mutated Ben Reilly worth adding to your Spidey villains shelf?

Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix REVIEW (X-Men Retro Series 2023)

Dark Phoenix Legends Figure Paint Wash Hair Eyes Shading

It may seem like just yesterday that the Toys R Us Exclusive Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix & Cyclops two-pack was in stores, but it was actually six long years (and one Toys R Us bankruptcy) ago. Prices for those figures long ago went wild on the aftermarket, and many fans were left without perhaps the most iconic Marvel female villain of all in their collections. But Hasbro heard the cries and responded, and now the Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix Retro figure is shipping out at a fraction of the price of the original’s aftermarket. But is this updated Jean Grey an upgrade…?

Marvel Legends Spiral REVIEW (X-Men Legends Retro Series 2023)

Spiral Marvel Legends 2023 Figure Review Close-Up

Spiral is one of those characters I could have happily gone my whole life without buying an action figure of… if she hadn’t been a playable character in the Marvel vs. Capcom video game series. Playing a few minutes of her as a mediocre character there did what decades of comic book appearances as Mojo’s lackey did not, and I knew I’d eventually indulge in a toy of her. I missed the first Target exclusive version 16 years ago, but the six-armed sorceress is back again as part of this year’s X-Men Marvel Legends Retro series! The 2023 Marvel Legends Spiral figure is shipping now—should you scoop her up in all her many-limbed glory?

X-Men Marvel Legends Longshot Retro Series Figure Review (Hasbro 2023)

Longshot Marvel Legends Hasbro Featured Image

ot is one of those classic X-Men characters that you can count on showing up every few years in a supporting role (most often in some rehashed Mojo plotline), hanging around for a short tenure and then slinking back into his off-page status quo. I don’t mind Longshot’s guest appearances, but I’ve long since given up on any lasting character development or changes to him. But even so, it’s been 17 years since Toybiz made their version of ML Longshot, so I was happy to smash the pre-order button when the Hasbro Marvel Legends 2023 Longshot went up for order. Was it a lucky purchase? Here’s my review…

Hasbro Firelord Marvel Legends Vintage Series Action Figure Review

Hasbro promised a strong showing of Heralds to coincide with the release of the mega-sized Haslab Galactus figure this year, and (as long as your favorite herald of Galactus isn’t named Air Walker or Golden Oldie) Hasbro has come through in spades with a new Terrax, the awesome Herald Thor and more—including the subject of today’s review! Retro Marvel Legends Firelord is a long, long overdue addition to the Marvel Legends pantheon—but after 20 years of waiting, is this figure all it could be?

REVIEW: 2022 Marvel Legends Spider-Armor Spider-Man Retro Figure

You just know it’s a true golden age of Marvel action figures when Hasbro feels confident enough to bring out a new version of one of Toybiz’s biggest duds of all-time. The Spider-Man The Animated Series Spider-Armor figure languished unloved on store shelves for years and years in the 90s, which is likely why it’s never been upgraded to a 6” figure. But the time has come to see the Spider-Armor Mark I available again, and the retro 90s Toybiz packaging definitely feels apropos in this instance. this is probably the only Marvel Legends Spider-Armor Mark I figure ever to be available—is it worth getting? Here’s my review…
