Yesterday I talked about the tremendous trio of Dorbz that Funko has created for New York Comic-Con 2016 next month, but that’s not all that they’ve got lined up for NYCC 2016 on the Marvel front! Two X-Men POP Vinyls figures will also be available at the event, including one long-overdue classic character and one figure that been MIA for long enough to make a whole baby: the 2016 NYCC Funko Kitty Pryde and Chef Deadool POP Vinyls are on the way!

I’m not sure if anybody out there is actively tracking stats for “the longest wait time from reveal to release for a Funko POP figure” (there should be a toy Guiness Book of Records for this sort of thing), but if anyone is keeping tabs on that record–I think the Chef Deadpool POP Vinyl just may be a worthy contender.

We first learned about the Funko POP Chef Deadpool figure when he was spotted on the back of the Bathtime Deadpool box at the end of 2015. Every other Deadpool vinyl from that series has come and gone since, leaving some collectors wondering if Chef Deadpool had been canned (yeah, right).

But finally, after a wait as long as creating a whole baby from, uh, “Step 1” to completion, the Funko Chef Deadpool POP Vinyl figure is now arriving at the 2016 New York Comic-Con!

So, umm… it’s Deadpool with a chef’s hat (“Malibu Stacy has a new hat!”), holding a spatula. Pretty nifty, huh…? (Well, I like it. So sue me.)

But along with the most-expected exclusive figure of the show we’re also getting a totally unexpected companion: the first-ever Funko Kitty Pryde figure is coming to NYCC 2016 as well!

This is the adult Astonishing X-Men Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) version in her yellow and blue costume (obviously). Kitty isn’t the most mainstream X-Men character, so I suppose making her a convention exclusive makes sense.

Probably the most exciting aspect of this release is the fact that Kitty’s not coming alone–she’s got her iconic pet dragon with her, Lockheed!

Lockheed’s size has changed about a thousand times over the years, but he looks sized about right to sit on the Funko Kitty Pryde POP Vinyl’s arm (I mean, if she could raise her arm), so I would say that they got the scale on Lockheed right. Hype!!

The Funko Chef Deadpool and Kitty Pryde POP Vinyls figures will be available at the Funko booth at NYCC 2016 from October 6th to 9th. You have to pre-register for a drawing just to potentially get a time slot for admission to the Funko booth at all at the show, so make sure you sign up ASAP if you want a shot at these figures.

I think there’s a strong chance both of these particular characters will get a shared release with a retail chain, but no solid information on that is available just yet. I’ll post an alert on the Marvel Toy News Twitter and Facebook Pages when I hear more.
