Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Thanos Released!

A couple weeks back, we got our first packaged look at the latest addition to the series of Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends: Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet! With the big launch date for the Avengers Infinity War toys coming up on March 3, many surmised we’d be seeing this comics-based Thanos figure in stores on or around that date. And those collectors were right! The Walmart Thanos Legends figure is being found in stores (and is also readily available being scalped on eBay) right now!

Walmart Exclusive Thanos Marvel Legends Figure Released

When a modern Thanos Build-A-Figure based off of the “Infinity” story arc came out as part of the Avengers Legends series in 2015, pretty much everyone knew that we’d see that figure repainted in classic colors and given an Infinity Gauntlet accessory down the road.

Well, it’s taken three years—perhaps longer than many would have guessed—but that certainty has finally become a reality, as the classic Thanos Marvel Legends figure is finally hitting Walmart store shelves in the United States!

Marvel Legends Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet UPC CodeBelieve it or not, this is the first time that a single-packaged Marvel Legends Thanos figure has ever been sold (by Toybiz or Hasbro), so there’s a lot of excitement surrounding this release.

If you want to try to look up to see if Thanos has hit your area, you can use the item SKU 294971588 on BrickSeek. Alternatively, you can have an employee at your local Walmart plug in the UPC Code 630509656110 (shown above).

Thanos Walmart Exclusive Figure Found In StoreThe first reported sightings of this Thanos figure that I’m aware of were reported on Friday, and it appears that Thanos is quickly spreading throughout the country and arriving in more and more areas. With the big Infinity War push less than a week away, I suspect we’ll be seeing Thanos just about everywhere by 3/3 at the latest.

Comparison Photos of Marvel Legends Thanos Build-A-Figure and Walmart ExclusiveJames Gorham picked up Thanos at his local Walmart in California yesterday, and posted a comparison photo that clearly shows the huge difference that repainting an action figure can make.

The paintwork on Thanos’ teeth has been vastly improved, and the classic metallic blue and vibrant gold paint look far more “Thanos” to me than the modern colors that we got on the 2015 Build-A-Figure.

Walmart Marvel Legends Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet Exclusive FigureeBay sellers are getting $35-$45 for this figure right now, but hopefully the straight cases of this $20 figure Walmart is receiving will be enough to satiate demand soon. Please don’t pay high prices for this figure just yet–it will very likely be readily available within a week from now!

Big thanks to James Gorham for giving me permission to run his photos of the new Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Thanos Figure! Hopefully I’ll spot him locally soon, so I can get my own review up lickety-split (no, I have no idea why that term popped into my mind).

Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Thanos Figure PackagedThere is an online listing for this Thanos figure on the Walmart website, but it’s still a placeholder and the figure has never been actively bailable for purchase online. I’ll send out an alert via our social media as soon as this Thanos figure is available online (provided that he actually does become available at some point).

Are you on the hunt for this ML Thanos figure, Marvel collectors? If you’ve gone out looking and you’ve seen him (or the seen the absence of him!), leave a reply to help your fellow collectors know where to look (or not look!) for their own Mad Titan!

Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Thanos Released! — 31 Comments

  1. No regrets that I worked hard to build the original and then sold him off because this version is fantastic!

  2. No regrets for having the original because that’s how he looks now. This single carded repaint w/Infinity Gauntlet is inaccurate (but that’s NEVER been an issue with Marvel Legends collectors).

  3. Picked one up today in Vancouver, BC. Six on the pegs in that particular store, so… don’t feed the scalpers.

  4. I just now found 3 Thanos figures, took one, at the Walmart in Plano Texas off north Dallas toll and park.

  5. I hit up 2 Wal-Mart’s yesterday that Brick Seek said had inventory. 1st one said the sku was invalid and had no clue what I was talking about. The second said they thought tjey had them but aren’t on sale till after the 1st of March.

    • Sku told me the same it was invalid so I typed in the upc now it says all my Walmart’s are stocked but I call and they say that item isn’t in the system …

  6. How accurate is brick seek because it says my Walmart’s are stocked I call and go in and they have nothing on the pegs

    • BrickSeek is very accurate, but it shows what’s in inventory anywhere in the store–including in the back room–not what’s on the pegs.

      • Idk man I just got off the phone with another Walmart employee which would make this the fourth Walmart I’ve called and they said they have nothing in the system … doesn’t seem too accurate

      • Actually Dabid, there are flaws. Last night, I went to one where Brickseek showed 6 (a case). I get there and they’re on the pallet. I’m told to wait for them to put them out. I do this in my car, watching a movie for a half hour. I go in and the pallet is there, but the box with Thanos (as well as the Avengers wave which had a “Do not open until March 3” sticker on it, and the Ultimate Riders) were removed. All 6 Thanos figs were gone. Everything in the Avengers wave save the MCU figures (not including Proxima Midnight) was taken (of course they didn’t want the MCU stuff) and just the Ghost Riders were gone (2 GR, 1 BW per case). I checked Bricseek all day today and while every other Walmart recorded how many they had left all the way down to “out of stock”, As of this typing, this Walmart STILL shows 6 Thanos. I was there. They only had one box, and scalpers ravaged it (yes, right under my nose). Though admittedly, after I purchased from another store, I got some food, checked and it was gone from there (I bought the last 2).

  7. The first Wal-Mart (Philadelphia area) which Brickseek said had them didn’t, and didn’t have it in the system.
The second, however, had both Thanos AND the Infinity War wave!
(And the new ML Infinity Gauntlet, to boot!)

    • My Walmart (one of them We have 5 with 10 miles of one another) had the Gauntlet as well as Stormbringer!

  8. Several Walmart’s (San Antonio, TX) have them in the back but said they cannot sell them or put them out on the shelf until March 3rd

  9. So when opened my Thanos today after buying it last night the left arm (Gauntlet Arm) comes off really, really easy. Is anybody else experiencing this? Im disappointed with this craftsmanship.

  10. Here in Fresno CA, 3 of my Walmarts has 6 in their system but that changed to out of stock within 8 hours. This was on brickseek. One associate I know went in the back to look but apparently couldn’t find them. Inventory went to 2 in stock but they couldn’t find them. The one that still says 6 said he got a few calls about them but hasn’t found any. I don’t know how accurate brickseek is but they’ve never been accurate for anything I’ve every looked for. Seems like this is a problem across the nation.

    • Same happened to me! I checked Brickseek in the morning yesterday and went to my local Walmart around 9. BS said there were 6 in stock at that store, but they had nothing on the pegs. Customer service scanned my barcode, and said I could find Thanos in the toy section for $18.84. I combed the area again to see if anything was on up a higher shelf – still nothing. I went to 2 other Walmarts (1 of which I checked twice). All of the stores came up as “in stock” on Brickseek but had no figures on the pegs. In one instance, a Walmart’s stock fell from 6 to 4 on BS. I figured this meant that Thanos was available, possibly somewhere else in the store. Not so. Ugh.

      • I Checked my local one yesterday 3 Times. The same guy said they had them and he couldn’t not find them in the back. Checked at lunch and he was still looking for them. Checked in the afternoon and they had 2 left but none on pegs and apparently they weren’t in backstock so they wouldn’t look for me. THis morning the same guy said they were put out on the floor around the time I came in but they sold whthjn the hour. Wtf?!

  11. Got one. Used Brickseek (thanks for that!) this morning and a nearby Wally had 6. Went and they were “still on the truck”. Went back after work and they weren’t stocked but the case was with other freight next to the toy aisle. Almost grabbed two but contained myself somehow. Nice figure, I like both head designs a lot and I like the bright “pop” the colors have since the (still superior I think) Select Thanos is kinda washed out color-wise. Thanks again for the heads up re: Brickseek, because I also got the Vibranium BP there using that (the store is close but not “check every day” close. Cheers and good luck to everyone…

  12. Went looking for him and found the entire Marvel legends Infinity Wars set on shelf. Plus the lesser Marvel 6″ line that had Infinity War Black Widow and Teen Groot.

  13. Checked corona,ca (ontario ave store) brickseek shows 6 on hand – store had no record, empty pegs. Same with san dimas ca and rancho cucamonga stores. RC shows 6 on hand w brickseek empty pegs.

  14. Nothing in Akron Ohio yet. We always seem to be the last to get these things.

  15. Can you guys check out in Chicago the Walmart’s here are being petty

  16. How do exclusives usually work? Have i really missed the window to finding thanos in the wild? I have checked so many stores for a week straight. Everystore is showing out of stock on brickseek. Have these figs already sold out?

    • I was wondering the same thing. Brickseek said my Walmart had 6 in stock. Now 5 days later the Walmart app and website says they are at my local store but I havent seen any on the shelf and I’ve called several times. So I’m just thinking none have even been put out yet. I’ll hold off for a few more days cuz I’m kinda sick of looking at the moment. If you live in a smaller area like me, I think you’ll find one eventually

    • They are still coming in. I was fortunate to grab two the other night just when the stock guy was about to open up the case. I talked one customer, who happened to be talking to the stock guy before I got there, into grabbing one. So the stock guy walked away to hang 3 on the peg board. He came back and we chatted for a few minutes. I pointed out to him that he also had a case of the new Thanos BAFs. We walked over to the peg board so he could hang them and by then we saw only one Thanos left. This was all in a span of about 5 minutes.
