“X-Men: Days of Future Past” may have just hit theaters a few days ago. There may not be a release date yet for its DVD/Blu-Ray yet at all. And there certainly aren’t any specs or bonus features listings available yet for the movie. But all that means nothing to Amazon, as they’re ready to move in and stake their claim to X-Men movie fans’ future dollars! If you ever wanted to be Magneto–well, you still can’t. But you can at least channel your daydreams around a very cool Magneto-related item: the X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray set with exclusive Magneto Helmet replica is now available for order!

This is Marvel Toy News, but every once in a while something comes up where I really struggle deciding whether it’s relevant or appropriate content for the site or not. Such is the case with a surprise exclusive item that showed up online concurrently with the theatrical release of the X-Men Days of Future Past movie.

Immediately after X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theaters, Amazon posted pre-orders for an exclusive X-Men Days of Future Past 3D Blu-Ray Collector’s Set that includes a replica Magneto helmet, along with the Deluxe Edition X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray and Digital HD.

The exclusive set has a marked retail price of $129.99 (which just about made me gag when I saw it), but it presently marked down to $74.99 for pre-orders (a far more palatable price-point, though still a bit expensive).

At present Amazon has revealed zero–zippo–specs for this X-Men Days of Future Past set, so we don’t even know what size the Magneto helmet is or what materials are used in it. But it sure does look neat, doesn’t it?

The UK is getting something comparably cool, and it’s sure to make a lot of X-Men fans (re: Me) jealous–an X-Men Collector’s Edition set of all seven X-Men movies housed within a Cerebro helmet case! The Amazon UK website has stated that this set is exclusive to them and will not be available through Amazon USA, which frankly has me a bit perturbed.

If I had to choose between the Magneto helmet replica or the Cerebro replica, I’d probably pick the Magneto helmet–but I’d really prefer both (even if it meant buying all the X-Men movies on Blu-Ray yet again). I may break down and pay the big bucks to import this Cerebro X-Men Blu-Ray Complete Collection eventually, so I’m glad that the Magneto helmet is at least available domestically for (relatively) cheap!

The Amazon-exclusive X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray set with Magneto helmet is now available for pre-order at the discounted price of 42% off. There’s no telling how limited this set will be or how long it will be available at the discounted price, so if you’re interested, you might as well reserve a set now while it’s cheap(ish).

Is the replica Magneto helmet enticing enough to make you shell out $70+ for the Amazon exclusive edition X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray set, Marvel fans? Or is it going to take more than a (very cool) Magneto helmet to get you to drop that kind of cash on a movie?
