Among the many, many new product lines that Funko launched in 2014, my absolute favorite is the Funko Fabrikations line of plush vinyl figures. The Funko Fabrikations Deadpool and Rocket Raccoon figures released last year were enormously popular, and I’ve been pining away for a while for news of another release in the line. Well, the announcement took a while, but there’s not one new Marvel Fabrikations Funko figure on the way–there’s four: the Funko Fabrikations Avengers Age of Ultron figures are now up for order!

Based off of the first two figural plush releases in the Funko Fabrikations Marvel line, I guessed that the next figure released in the line would be Spider-Man or another fully-masked character. I certainly didn’t think that any of the main characters from the Avengers Age of Ultron movie would be appropriate for the line.

Apparently, I thought wrong, as Funko has now announced and revealed four Avengers Age of Ultron Funko Fabrikations figures: Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man!

Honestly, even though the prior releases were instant purchases for me, I think I’m going to have to see this quartet in stores before deciding how I feel about this particular batch of Fabrikations.

The Thor Fabrikations figure was the only one that I jumped and pre-ordered as soon as I saw the images of it. The Funko Fabrikations Thor figure is absolutely adorable, and I love Thor’s grumpy face and big plush hammer.

I thought about ordering the Hulk Fabrikations figure as well, but as cute as his plush hair and little printed-on nipples are, I can’t decide if I like the face on the figure enough to want to own him.

The texture of the material on the Funko Fabrikations Captain America figure looks really great, but I’m not thrilled with the facial expression on Cap. It just doesn’t scream “Chris Evans” to me at all, but I’m hoping I’ll feel better about Cap when I see him in-person.

Finally, the Iron Man Fabrikations figure looks very high-quality with the plastic-like plush material on it and the little ARC reactor on Iron Man’s chest, but I don’t feel particularly warm and fuzzy about a plush Iron Man figure like this one. This is the figure in the series that I think I’m least likely to wind up with (assuming I don’t buy them all to stay complete–which I very well may).

The Funko Fabrikations Avengers plush figures are now available for order online, and are scheduled to be released in March/April 2015 (just in time for Age of Ultron to hit theaters!). If the past Funko Fabrikations Marvel figures are any indicator, these are likely to be super-popular and very difficult to find in stores, so if any of these are must-haves for you, you may want to lock in a pre-order now.
