I’ve been wondering since the summer when Amazon was going to get around to posting the pre-orders for their exclusive Hasbro Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor figures set. Well, it turns out that evidently they never put pre-orders up for their exclusive set because they weren’t going to have them. The Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor 4″ six figure set has finally popped-up on Amazon as in-stock and ready to ship!
But there is still a shining ray of hope for fans who wanted Iron Man 3 figures in the style of the super-articulated 4″ Marvel Universe figures–and that hope is burgeoning toy retailer Amazon. While no physical chain of stores stepped forward to take on the Iron Man 3 Marvel Universe-style figures, Amazon came through for collectors (to an extent) with an exclusive offering–the Hasbro Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor box set, containing six Iron Man figures.
The catch, of course, is that only two of the figures are ones that most collectors don’t have already. Joining old figures of Iron Man Mark I, Iron Man Mark II, Iron Man Mark III, and Iron Man Mark VI, we get a highly-articulated Iron Man Mark 42 figures and an exclusive Iron Man 3 Tony Stark action figure.
I would have been a lot more excited about this set coming available if it hadn’t happened the same week I got my $280 amazing Hot Toys Tony Stark Sixth Scale figure in the mail, which really puts this 3 3/4″ Tony Stark Hasbro figure to shame (as it ought to for $280). If Amazon had had this set up for pre-order during the summer I would have already bought it, but by waiting until the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray release they may have lost my dollars (maybe).
The Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor Amazon exclusive set is now available for order for $39.99 plus no tax and free shipping. I’m teetering back and forth on whether I care enough about the Tony Stark and Iron Man Mark XLII figures to spend 40 bucks on them, but I’ll post photos and impressions of the set once I receive it if I do.
