Considering that Hot Toys showed off the upcoming Iron Man 3 Igor Mark 38 MMS 215 sixth scale figure at event after event throughout the summer, no one can feign surprise that the Hot Toys Igor Iron Man is in development. But knowing that fact is one thing, and seeing this insanely immense behemoth go up for sale is quite another, and it’s finally happened–the Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Igor Mark XXXVIII figure is now up for order!
But oh, does it ever look worth it!
The Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Igor Mark 38 armor figure is going to stand an incredibly 43 cm (about 17″) tall. We won’t know for certain until we see the Igor directly side-by-side with them, but the Igor Iron Man Hot Toys figure looks like he may end up actually being even larger than the gigantic Hot Toys Hulk I reviewed last month! Though the Mark 38 Igor Iron Man armor isn’t technically the “Hulkbuster” Iron Man armor, it’s almost certainly the closest we’re ever going to get in sixth scale form, and I can’t wait to see photos Hot Toys Hulk vs. Hot Toys Igor Iron Man!
When we first saw Hot Toys tease the Iron Man 3 Igor Mark 38 Hot Toys figure, there was plenty of speculation that the figure was going to belong to the Hot Toys Power Pose Series (PPS) and have very limited articulation. That’s not what’s going to happen. The Hot Toys Iron Man Igor figure is a fully-articulated Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series figure with designation MMS215, and will be packing 25 points of articulation. That’s not the most points ever on a Hot Toys Iron Man MMS figure, but 25 points is plenty for such a huge and bulky design as the Mark XXXVIII Igor.
As with most Hot Toys Iron Man releases, the Igor Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series figure will have built-in light-up features, including light-up eye slits and a light-up rectangular chest RT (repulsor transmitter). The Iron Man 3 Igor sixth scale figure also features a very nicely-detailed paint job, with plenty of weathering and battle damage on the blue, silver and white paint applications.
The Igor Iron Man Hot Toys MMS 215 sixth scale figure is now up for pre-order at the Sideshow Collectibles website, and is scheduled to be released in November 2014. This monumentally-sized Iron Man figure comes with an equally monumental price tag, but this figure is going to add so much diversity and awe to my Iron Man display that there’s no way I’m going to pass it up.
What about you, Marvel collectors? Is there a place in your collection for the Hot Toys Igor Iron Man Movie Masterpiece series figure, or is this $500+ beast just too much for your wallet to handle?
What ANOTHER Ironman fig……talk about overkill. I love Ironman but enough already! I’m so glad that the Ironman films are done so that we can see other movie fig beside IM mark 1,000.
Nice! Ordered 2. One to display, the other stored away.
Come on Hot Toys…
Still waiting.
