KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 Photos, Ratios & Release Info!

One of the things that instantly caught my attention at the New York Toy Fair 2014 (I can’t believe it was already two weeks ago) was a brand-new KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 assortment! KidRobot can sometimes go several years between releasing series of the some of the licenses that they hold, so I wasn’t really anticipating seeing anymore Marvel Labbits until late 2014. The joke’s on me, though–not only did Kid Robot have an entire new series of Marvel Labbits figures (plus two limited-edition larger Labbits) to show at the event, but all of the 2014 Marvel Labbits figures are due to be released in stores this coming week!

Kidrobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 Case Assortment

Not everybody is into collectible vinyl figures, so Marvel collector fandom was a little bit divided over last year’s KidRobot Marvel Labbit Series 1 figures. But while not everyone “got” the Marvel Labbits Series, plenty of people bought the series–resulting in a quick turnaround for a second series rife with weird, unique takes on some of our favorite Marvel characters!

While Series 1 was mainly composed of beloved (or should I say reviled?) Marvel villains, Marvel Labbit Series 2 is chock full of some of Marvel’s most popular superheroes!

Marvel Labbits Series 2 Carnage Anti-Venom Cyclops Wolverine KidRobot Vinyl FiguresMy favorite figures from the Marvel Kid Robot Labbits Series 2 set are easily and without a doubt the pair of alien symbiotes: Marvel Labbit Carnage and Anti-Venom! Carnage is the only pure villain in this series, and his always-striking colors look great in Labbits form. Anti-Venom is more a psychotic hero than a villain, and while I didn’t always love the Anti-Venom character, it’s hard to argue with how cool the Labbit Anti-Venom looks!

Kid Robot Marvel Labbits Series 2 Hulk Thing Spider-Man Silver Surfer Captain America Iron ManRounding out the series, we’ve got Marvel Labbit Hulk, Spider-Man, The Thing, Captain America, Silver Surfer, Iron Man, Cyclops and Wolverine. It’s a real bummer that Wolverine has claws sticking out of his mouth again instead of a cigar, but I imagine Marvel wasn’t anxious to approve a cigar sticking out of a vinyl rabbit Wolverine figure’s mouth.

The blind box case ratios are pretty good for this series, with 1/20 (one of each) of Labbit Silver Surfer and Anti-Venom in each case of 20, 3 of each (3/20) of Labbit Spider-Man and Iron Man in each case of 20, and 2/20 (2 of each) of every other figure (including Carnage–::PHEW::) per case.

Marvel Labbits Deadpool and Ghost Rider Figures Vinyl KidRobotIn addition to all of those new Labbit Marvel mini figures, two of the most popular Marvel Labbits Series 1 figures are back in 7″ form this month: Labbit Deadpool and Labbit Ghost Rider! These are two of my favorites from Series 1, and I expect both to sell very well. I don’t know that I’m down for spending $50 each on either of them, but I’m really thinking about the 7″ Deadool Labbit!

Marvel Labbit Series 2 Case KidRobot 2014 Vinyl FiguresAll of Marvel Labbits Series 2 is now available for pre-order and is shipping out in early March 2014. I’m not totally in love with the KidRobot Marvel Labbit Series 2, but I will definitely go out of my way as necessary to pick up the Labbit Thing, Carnage, Anti-Venom and Cyclops figures. What about you, fellow Marvel collectors? Are of these not-so-sweet little 2.5″ Kid Robot Marvel Labbits bound for your collection?
