I was beyond hyped last week when Hasbro announced the Marvel Legends Future Foundation Fantastic Four lineup of figures, but judging by the absence of chatter from collectors, I might have been the only one. Or! It might be that fans were waiting for the whole team to be up for PO to get excited! Joining the matching Mr. Fantastic and Spider-Man from last week, the Marvel Legends Thing & Invisible Woman Future Foundation two-pack is now up for order!

But I’ve got high hopes that collectors will be a tad more excited about this week’s duo, as it doesn’t contain the perennially unpopular Mr. Fantastic! Instead, we’ve got Reed’s wife and ever-loving blue eyed best friend. Let’s take a look…
The immediate outstanding feature here is once again the white and black costumes from Jonathan Hickman’s Future Foundation comics. Even once Johnny turned up again, I don’t believe he ever wore a matching white FF costume in a Hickman comic book, so I’m considering this lineup complete with Ben and Sue here.
While Hasbro could have easily just 100% repainted existed parts for these figures, there’s a little bit of new stuff here beyond the paint, which is appreciated. We get a great new upper body with singlet for The Thing, which I expect Hasbro to get plenty of use out of in future parts recycling endeavors.
In addition, there’s a new open-mouthed Thing scowling portrait that looks very distinct from previous heads we’ve gotten. I feel like it gives this rendition of Ben Grimm a little extra spark of personality.
And speaking of which—Sue has her own open-mouthed head, although she’s sporting a smile. I can’t remember the last time we got an open mouthed Invisible Woman head (if ever), so this is really fun to see. It’s nice to see plastic Sue not looking so stern for a change!
It looks like Invisible Woman will include the large force field effect from the Super Skrull Series figure, as well as two smaller invisible force bubble effects. I wish we also got at least a half-invisible hand with Sue to show her demonstrating her primary ability, but it’s hard to complain too much when we’re getting multiple effects pieces.
Both Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Future Foundation two-packs are up for order now and shipping in late summer. The pricing on this set is just a hair above standard, which I’m taking as a pseudo-win since I always worry Hasbro will decide Thing is “deluxe” sized since he’s so chonky and then hike up the price.I’m very happy to check off this full team in quick succession for about the price of 4 standard figures, personally.
Are YOU thinking about building Jonathan Hickman’s Future Foundation in 6” figure form, Marvel collectors? Would you ever want to see Franklin and Valeria released in these white costumes as well?
