Something inside of me snapped last week when I got my first Marvel Super Heroes Masher figure, Deadpool. Ever since, I’ve started having a craving for more stylized, kid-friendly Marvel Mashers action figures, and as such I’ve been watching the Marvel Super Hero Mashers section at my local stores like a predatory hawk for the past week. While the Marvel Mashers Iceman and Ghost Rider I’ve been on the prowl for haven’t turned up locally yet, the newest wave of Electronic Superhero Mashers have arrived: the Marvel Mashers Iron Spider-Man and War Machine are now available for order online and in some stores!
To Hasbro’s credit, this latest wave of Electronic Marvel Mashers figures includes both those types of characters.
The bigger name in this wave is probably the first Marvel Mashers War Machine figure. Since heavy-artillery, missile-firing weapons are such a big part of the Marvel Super Hero Mashers line, War Machine is one of the obvious choices to include in it–especially in the accessory-loaded deluxe electronic series.
Ordinarily War Machine is one of my favorite Iron Man armors, but this particular War Machine Masher’s color scheme throws me off somewhat. While War Machine’s colors are traditionally dark grey and silver/light grey, the Mashers War Machine is painted in dark grey and a grey so light that it’s almost white. It doesn’t look terrible, per se, but the paint deco bothered me enough that I wouldn’t drop 20 bucks on the figure.
I really wish that the Marvel Super Hero Mashers Iron Spider figure wasn’t part of the deluxe electronic Mashers lineup, as I don’t especially want any of the excess junk that the figure comes with, but the base Iron Spider Mashers figure itself looks terrific. Great choice on Hasbro’s part.
The Marvel Super Hero Mashers War Machine and Iron Spider Man figures are now available for order online with free shipping, and are also starting to turn up in some stores. I’ve only spotted one of each in a Target store thus far, but I’m sure both figures will spread rapidly within the next month.
Anyone out there planning to pick up the newest Marvel Masher figures of Iron Spider-Man and/or War Machine for their collections? Would you be more prone to pick up these figures if they weren’t part of the pricier subset of Marvel Mashers, or do you like the deluxe electronic features?
Ok,Dabid,so,the lighter shade War Machine colors throw you off, but the Iron Spider does not?
Like you said the extra plastic kibble or “junk” is a waste of money and space, but what really is a crime is that same plastic could have been given more suitable use. Iron Spider is known for his giant 3 robo-spider legs.
Those legs Are MIA! WTF..! It’s not like they couldn’t round off the edges/points to make them”kid-friendly”, hey doc ock got his tendrils, so what gives?
IronSpider is a pass! Welcome home War Machine!
No war machine for me, But spidey?
Must buy!
