Marvel Select Beast & Gallery Deadpool Statue Up for Order!

Ordinarily, we get to see several Marvel Select figures debut at a year’s New York Toy Fair. But with the embargo on talking about Avengers Infinity War toys still in effect, we got a singular new Marvel Select reveal at the 2018 Toy Fair. Luckily, it’s one fans have been requesting for years: the X-Men Marvel Select Beast figure is now up for order! And Hank McCoy isn’t alone in the new DST solicitations—a brand new Taco Truck Deadpool Marvel Gallery Statue is also on the way!

Toy Fair 2018 Beast Figure Marvel Select

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen a new X-Men character added to the Diamond Select Toys Marvel Gallery X-Men series, but with Disney getting the X-Men movie rights back, we’re seeing more and more X-Men merch revealed for 2018!

The evergreen popular X-Men Select line is finally expanding again, and this time, it’s one of the more-demanded members of the team: Beast!

Close-Up of Marvel Select Beast Action FigureBeast will be in the usual 7” scale and have the 16 points of articulation that Diamond Select Toys has perfected. 16 points may not sound like a lot for a flexible guy like Beast, but that ball-jointed upper torso and the double-jointed knees should make him a pretty poseable guy.

2018 Toy Fair Marvel Select Beast Figure X-MenDST Marvel Select Beast will include a new Danger Room diorama base (with climbing bars!) and interchangeable hands.

Side View of Beast Marvel Select Figure at 2018 Toy FairI’ve seen some harsh criticisms for this figure online, but in person I was very impressed with the sculpting details and paint deco on Beast. The head… I didn’t like at first glance, but I’m hoping it will grow on me (or get tweaked before production). The head is definitely the weak point of this release, in my opinion.

Marvel Gallery Taco Truck Deadpool StatueThe other figure Diamond Select Toys has on track for September 2018 is an all-new Deadpool mold: the Marvel Gallery Deadpool Taco Truck Statue!

New York Toy Fair 2018 Deadpool Taco Truck DST Marvel Gallery StatueThe action-posed Deadpool that debuted at New York Toy Fair 2016 was actually the very first Marvel Gallery PVC Statue ever released, and has been repainted in several occasions now for various variants, so it’s nice to see a totally new Deadpool Statue in this series.

Toy Fair 2018 Deadpool Taco Truck Marvel Gallery PVC StatueTaco Truck Deadpool stands atop (what else?) the debris of a demolished taco truck, which was tragically struck down in the prime of its junk food-serving life.

The fuzzy bunny slippers and whimsical, gesturing hands make this a more humorous interpretation of Wade Wilson than his previous DST PVC Statue. The original Deadpool Gallery Statue is still available for those who want it, but I like this version as well for those who like their DP to have a different flavor.

Toy Fair 2018 Diamond Select Beast Marvel Select FigureThe Marvel Gallery Taco Truck Deadpool Statue and Marvel Select Beast figure are both up for order online now, and have been discounted a couple bucks each for pre-orders on EE. Beast is the first new X-Men team member released in years, so it’ll be interesting to see how much excitement there is for his addition to the lineup.

What’s your take on these latest Diamond Select Toys figures, Marvel collectors? How do you feel about DST’s rendition of Beast in action figure form—is it exactly what you hoped for? And is this new Deadpool Taco Truck Gallery Statue worthwhile, or would you have preferred a different version of Deadpool or a different character altogether?

  1. I’m a huge fan of that classic Beast look and absolutely hated that “cat” Beast nonsense. This one is a definite for me. I can post him with my other Marvel Select X figures and my Avengers team. Double win!

  2. Though I’m not a huge fan of the headsculpt…I will for sure be picking up this Beast figure.

  3. This is one figure to look forward to, but we know that marvel select never releases any of their figures on the release dates that they announce. I still can’t figure out why they don’t release their movie figures during the week of or around the same time as the movie release. Ragnarok Thor wont be released for a while. The black panther movie figure should have been released during the same month as the movie. I’m sure they will make us wait for that one to though. Smh…….

  4. I’ve been waiting for a new figure of good ol’ Hank McCoy. With the awful treatment he’s been getting in the comics lately I’m glad that he’s starting to be handled with better writers. So the release date is around October? I do wish maybe he had a different expression, or maybe a optional lab coat and glasses.
