Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2-Packs Released!

Reports have been coming in from all over the country for the last few weeks of collectors finding and sometimes being denied the newest Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Spider-Man two-packs locally, but that’s changed over the course of the past week, as Target is now officially stocking and allowing sales of its latest Hasbro Marvel Legends Exclusives: the Kraven’s Last Hunt Two-Pack with Kraven and Symbiote Spidey and the Homecoming Two-Pack with MJ and Academic Decathalon Spidey!

Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Spider-Man Two-Packs

Sometimes I think I live in the most by-the-book stickler-for-the-rules area in the country as far as Targets go, as despite seeing numerous reports of products hitting shelves prior to the street date from one end of the country to the other, I don’t think I’ve seen an item show up “early” in years at my local Target stores.

And so, in spite of the many, many reports of other fans finding the new Spider-Man Homecoming and Kraven’s Last Hunt Target Marvel Legends Two-Packs locally (oftentimes with stores refusing to sell the Homecoming pack because of a street date), those box sets eluded me… until this week!

We first saw the Marvel Legends Kraven’s Last Hunt two-pack at New York Comic-Con 2018 in October, and it’s exactly what it looked like when Hasbro previewed it there during that event.

We previously had a Kraven in the Rhino series a few years back, but this is a more classic and much meaner-looking version of the hunter. I was taken aback by this at NYCC last year, as a new iteration of Kraven was nowhere on my wish list, but this has really grown on me.

Also, I’m a firm believer that there should be a Symbiote Spider-Man figure regularly available due to the massive popularity of the costume, so big thumbs up from me for Hasbro getting this reissued Spidey (with new beat-up unmasked Peter Parker head!) into circulation so soon after the Sandman series one.

Marvel Legends Spider-Man Homecoming 2-Pack Blazer Spidey & MJThe Homecoming 2-Pack is going to be a bit more of an acquired taste. While it’s a fun costume and all, I have a hunch that the number of folks wanting a 6” Academic Decathalon Spidey figure is somewhat niche.

I think an accessory like that yellow blazer makes a lot more sense as a removable Hot Toys item than as a molded-on ML piece.

However, the big selling-point of this set for most collectors is going to be the Zendaya MJ figure. To-date, MJ hasn’t been announced for a toy release in anything bigger than 2” by any company other than Hasbro, so they’ve got the market cornered on her at the moment.

While a non-powered civilian with only a couple minutes of screen-time isn’t the most riveting choice ever for the line, I think both Zendaya fans and MCU collectors will gobble this up. I think this set has a better chance of selling through at full price than the Kraven’s Last Hunt set does, honestly.

Both these sets are hitting Target stores nationwide now and the street date is officially past, so no one should be denied a set at the register. These are suddenly in plentiful supply at every Target I’ve visited today, so I don’t foresee any collector having trouble snagging one of these sets at retail.

Have you picked up either of these new sets, Marvel collectors? If so, what do you think? And how likely do you think it is that either of these will end up hitting the clearance racks down the road?

  1. Toys R Us Canada has the Kraven’s Last Hunt set, but I haven’t seen the Homecoming one. I didn’t buy any of the other Homecoming figs (or any MCU figs other than Captain Marvel ones), but I’d buy this one if I find it because the yellow jacket makes Spidey look unique and I like Zendaya as MJ (and what are the odds they’ll ever make another fig of her).
I will be getting the Kraven set, but my local TRU has at least 10 in stock, so I’m waiting to see if it goes on sale.

  2. Went to 3 different targets who said they had 2 in stock and no luck so if you can find them good luck but I don’t think they are as well stocked as you think

  3. I managed to snag one of the few MCU Decathalon Spidey & MJ sets that was available online. Thankfully there were enough for sale on Target’s website, unlike some other retailer exclusives. 🙄

  4. My local target has had 4-5 of both sets. I like the Homecoming set and may yet but one on impulse (assuming it doesn’t sell out) but will probably take a chance on waiting and getting on clearance eventually. I don’t have much interest in the Kraven set, it looks fine but i’m happy enough with Modern Kraven and the symbiote Spidey i have although the beat up head is nice.

  5. I’ve had my Kraven two-pack for weeks. It was available on the Target website last month, and I had it in-hand a couple of days after I ordered it. I’ve seen several sets at a few different Targets in recent weeks. Picked up the Spidey/MJ set at a store over the weekend. They had a couple. Not sure if I’ve seen it at any other stores yet.

  6. Never realize anyone had trouble getting these, they even had a “spend $100 get $25 giftcard” deal last week at the Target website, so I got my toys with a $25 gift card. The Spider-Man/MJ 2 packs sells well at my local Targets, whereas the Spider-Man/Craven 2 packs just sits there, I’m sure there’ll be plenty around clearance time.

  7. you guys are lucky I am trying to find the homecoming set but I haven’t had any luck. I can get the kraven set online but I really want the spiderman/mj but I found out when they get shipments in at my local target and will try again. Its crazy how fast they sell out at my target but maybe they just have more collectors in the area, I have no idea. I saw one of the hawkeye and black widow sets and did not realize it was a target exclusive and was already gone when I went back to the aisle. Also should note that I did not even start looking for the homecoming set until 2 weeks ago because I did not know it was there so that might have something to do with my trouble finding it as well.

  8. Does anyone have advice about cleaning the cuts and black eye off of the Peter head? I read where somebody used acetone, but I’m not sure if that will work so close to the eye? Any help is appreciated!

  9. Turpentine is generally known as a paint remover, but acetone might be just as effective. I would do a test on a spare part. Soak a small piece of paper towel or cotton cloth, and rub to the desired pressure necessary to remove the paint. If you don’t have a spare part, I would suggest removing the red cuts from Peter’s face first to get the feel on the level of effort on what it’s going to take to remove the paint. After removing the cuts, remove the bruise around the eye by wrapping a dampened piece of paper towel or cloth around a sharp point x-acto blade, gently scrape the paint away starting from the outside and working inwards towards the eye.

    • When I say dampened, I mean dampened with acetone/turpentine. Also, once you get the hang of removing the bruise paint working inwards towards the eye, I would then start removing the remaining paint starting from the eyelids and working away from the eye.

  10. I’ve had my Karven Spidey 2 pack since late April/early May. Picked it up in store and everything.
