Earlier today I posted my thoughts on the comic book-based Marvel ONE:12 Collective figures revealed at the New York Toy Fair 2018, but those weren’t the only presents Mezco brought Marvel fans at Toy Fair! Along with an old friend from last Toy Fair who never made it out (Netflix Daredevil), Mezco also brought along new live-action figures of Netflix Punisher, Vigilante Daredevil, and Hela from Thor: Ragnarok!
Thankfully, I didn’t walk off like a doofus without seeing what was in that last display case, because it contained what I think is Mezco’s best products at the event: their live-action MCU Figures!
ONE:12 Collective Netflix Daredevil actually debuted at New York Toy Fair 2017, but never made it up for pre-order in the past year.
From the catalog photos, we can see the planned accessories for this Daredevil Netflix figure include a set of separate billy clubs, an alternate head, six interchangeable hands and the usual display base with posing post.
Any fears of potential cancellation can be forgotten now, however, as not only is Mezco Netflix Daredevil on the way for Fall 2018 (and looking wicked cool), but he’s also got two “friends” (of a sort) coming later on in the year!
First up is potentially the single best-looking new reveal that Mezco unveiled at NY Toy Fair: a Jon Bernthal Netflix Punisher ONE:12 Collective figure.
The Jon Bernthal likeness on this figure is uncanny, and I think the portrait can even rival the Hot Toys version, despite being about half the size. Phenomenal work by Mezco, turning a character I don’t entirely love into a probable must-buy.
MCU Punisher will be coming pretty well-armed as well–according to the catalog, he’ll come packing a revolver, a mini-gun, a knife and sheath, an alternate head, eight interchangeable hands, a handgun with two removable clips, and the ubiquitous display base with posing post. I think that nicely covers most of the ways that fans would want to pose this character!
Lastly from Netflix Daredevil, a genuine shocker: ONE:12 Collective Vigilante Daredevil! This figure depicts Matt Murdock in his black vigilante outfit that he wore throughout almost the entire first season of his Netflix show, and is a real fan-favorite (and my preferred look for the MCU Daredevil as well).
Perhaps recognizing the niche appeal of this particular variant, Mezco Toyz has already marked Vigilante Daredevil as a Mezco Exclusive in their new catalog that they gave out at Toy Fair, so be prepared to jump on this figure fast when it goes live if you want one.
From the catalog, we can see that the Mezco Vigilante Daredevil figure will come with two batons, a leg holster to hold the batons, an alternate bloody head, and six interchangeable hands.
Last, but absolutely not least, is the figure I was most shocked to see at the whole Mezco booth: Thor Ragnarok Hela!
With both Gladiator Thor and Gladiator Hulk revealed way back in July 2017 and nothing else mentioned for the movie since, the thought never crossed my mind that Mezco would expand the Ragnarok movie line further.
But not only was ONE:12 Collective Hela unexpectedly on display at the event—she looks absolutely incredible!
Sadly, Hela wasn’t in the catalog given out at the press event, so her accessories are still unknown. We do, however, know that she has a Fall 2018 release date based off the placard in the display case.
None of these four Mezco ONE:12 Collective figures are available for order just yet, but I’ll send out alerts via the Marvel Toy News Facebook and Twitter Pages once they are up for sale. With its status as an exclusive, I’d expect that Vigilante Daredevil ONE:12 Collective figure to sell out especially quickly.
Now that you’ve seen the other half of what Mezco brought to show off at New York Toy Fair 2018, what’s the damage to your future bank account, Marvel collectors? Do you prefer the comic-based or live-action reveals, and which of these figures are you contemplating adding to your collection this year?
Love Robo from Fwoosh cameo in the last pic!
If there is an unmasked/hair down Hela head that is better than the amazing ML one that will be a definite buy!
Would you mind posting a photo of the promo shot for Punisher in the catalog?
I’ll snap some more photos from the catalog today!
