X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse Series Figures Up for Order!

UPDATE 6/11/2018: For those looking to army-build X-Men Marvel Legends Multiple Man or just pick and choose their favorites like Magneto, Wolverine, Psylocke, Sabertooth, Gladiator or Storm, individual figures from the Marvel Legends X-Men Apocalypse Series are now up for order while they last!

ORIGINAL 6/5/2018: Hasbro is releasing more Marvel Legends series than ever before this year, with sets themed around Avengers Infinity War, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Deadpool and more. But even with all those other brands represented, “the big one” generating the most enthusiasm, excitement and hype is the 2018 X-Men Legends series. Hasbro spread out the reveals of the eight figures that make up the series from July 2017 through February 2018, but at long last, the time to actually secure our figures is upon us: the Marvel Legends X-Men Apocalypse Series is now up for order!

Marvel Legends Psylocke Figure Packaged

The once-a-year X-Men Marvel Legends series has become a bit of an annual event for Hasbro 6″ collectors, with pre-orders opening up and collectors quickly wiping out the allocated stock for online retailers in a frenzy.

This year’s wave looks like it’s going to be no exception to the rule, as we get six characters making encore ML appearances, and one making his 6″ figure debut!

Marvel Legends Multiple Man Packaged in Box MadroxThe one character in the Apocalypse series who’s never gotten the six inch figure treatment before is, of course, Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man. Fans have been asking for a Marvel Legends Multiple Man figure for many years, and Hasbro has finally heard the cries and complied!

Marvel Legends X-Men Tiger Stripe Wolverine Figure PackagedOf course, while many collectors were hoping that Madrox might be double-packed at two-per-case, that’s just not to be. There’s only room for one double-packed figure in this eight figure case, and there was zero chance it was going to be anyone other than Tiger Stripe Wolverine. This is perhaps the single most iconic design of any X-Men character, so Hasbro would have been loco to pack this Logan at one-per-case. Good call (albeit frustrating for us Multiple Man fanboys).

X-Men Marvel Legends Gladiator Figure Packaged with Apocalypse Head While some collectors may be thinking that the Shi’ar Gladiator is a “rookie” figure as well, that’s actually not true–he was released as part of the SDCC Thanos Imperative box set a few years back. I’m not a big fan of major characters being convention exclusives, so it’s nice to see Kallark getting a second chance at life–this time, in a mass retail environment. Even so, I would be stunned if Gladiator isn’t the shelfwarmer in this wave (if there turns out to be one at all).

Marvel Legends Magneto Figure Packaged Black CostumeThe last two figures in the Marvel Legends 2018 X-Men series ended up being the Jim Lee Sabertooth and Marvel NOW! Magneto that debuted at New York Toy Fair 2018 in February. Personally, I would have preferred the white Magneto costume, but I dig the unmasked Erik Lensherr head, magnetic energy effects and energized hands that Magnus comes with.

Marvel Legends 2018 Sabertooth Figure PackagedThe X-Men Legends Apocalypse Series case ratios are as follows:

  • (2) Tiger Stripe Wolverine with Apocalypse Tubes
  • (1) Mohawk Storm with Apocalypse Torso
  • (1) Psylocke with Apocalypse Leg
  • (1) Marvel Now Magneto (Black Costume) with Apocalypse Right Arm
  • (1) Sabertooth (Jim Lee) with Apocalypse Left Arm
  • (1) Gladiator with Apocalypse Head
  • (1) Jamie Madrox Multiple Man with Apocalypse Leg
  • Build-A-Figure: Apocalypse

2018 Marvel Legends Storm Mohawk Punk Figure PackagedThe X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse series is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in late summer 2018. Regardless of the “estimated arrival dates” you may see, all major online retailers like BBTS and EE should receive their allotments of the figures within a few days of each other (if not the same day), so order from whichever store is your favorite.

The time is officially here, X-Men fans! Are you in for the whole series and building your own Apocalypse BAF, picking up only your favorites, or passing on this year’s X-Men Legends installment altogether? And looking to the future, what X-characters are you hoping to see arrive in the 2019 series?

X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse Series Figures Up for Order! — 15 Comments

  1. I’m thinking Sabretooth and Storm will be hard to find and maybe Magneto, so this time… I’m just going to pre-order and be done with it. Probably be cheaper in the long run anyway, considering Sabretooth will probaby be selling for 50 bucks and Storm for 40. Sigh… How did I get caught up in this?

  2. I have seen a detailed review and they look great. I think fans will go frantic to re-sell The Destroyer. It would of been nice to include to versions of The Multiple Man, the other without the jacket. ML do sell outside the US. They should be available in August in the uk.

  3. Preordered for safety as I can foresee this being as difficult to find as the Juggernaut wave. Will also keep my fingers crossed that Multiple man is not difficult to find later on, as I would like to end up with 3 – 5 total to represent his power set.

  4. These look good, and I really wanna pre-order a whole set, but what is up with the prices on a full case nowadays? I ordered the first x-men wave and the thor ragnarok wave at $159.99 with free shipping from EE. Nowadays its $167.99 for this X-men wave, and $169.99 for the Avengers IW wave 2 Cull series. Why the sudden upcharge?

I know overall it’s not that crazy, as it brings a per figure price up from 19.99 (the 159.99), to either 20.99 (167.99), or 21.25(169.99), which will be cheaper than paying $25-$32 for some of the figs, but I just don’t get why the companies are doing this now.

  5. I got lucky and spotted them on amazon.ca earlier this week. Pre-ordered IW2 set to.

    • They’re still available on amazon.ca! And I just pre-ordered them, thanks to your alert!

  6. Walmart just raised the price of the X-Men Legends Ast assortment #49096296 to $18.84, it had been at clearance prices so I’m guessing these will be available there.

  7. Pre-ordered a case from dorkside; now we’ll just see if these hit stores in my area before dorkside gets ’em. Great wave but without a movie tie-in I think this could be hard to find like the Lizard wave, especially when stores already have a lot of Marvel Legends in stock.

  8. Speaking of the Lizard wave…. Has anyone seen this in the wild? I live in Nashville, and regularly check the stores in TN and southern KY and so far haven’t seen this at ANY of the big box stores.

    • I found them at Walgreens a month ago. You can check Walmart via http://www.brickseek.com. All the Spiderman figures are under the assortment 49096308. So you’ll have to track the inventory levels and wait until you see one store suddenly get 8 or 16 more.

    • You can use Brickseek’s website for Walmart. All Spiderman figures are under the SKU assortment 49096308. So you’ll have to monitor the inventory levels of the stores around you and wait until you see one rise 8 or 16. That means they just received a truck and will be putting them out that night. I also completed my Lizard at Walgreens, but each store only will have 1 or 2.

  9. Interesting, Walmart stores in my area just receive 2 cases of the X-men Warlock BAF series. Only 14 months after Target and Walgreens had it but hey, better late than never!
