2023 Marvel Legends Blob & X-Men 3-Packs Up for Order!

Hasbro has had very limited success keeping their future Marvel Legends 2023 plans under wraps, so by the time they got to their Hasbro Pulse livestream this week, pretty much everything they talked about was something fans knew about to some degree or other. But knowing is one thing, and being able to see products officially and buy them is another: the 2023 X-Men Marvel Legends 3-Packs and deluxe Marvel Legends Blob figure are now up for order!

2023 Marvel Legends X-Men Blob & Team Sets

Uncanny X-Men #275 from 1991 isn’t exactly the most legendary and beloved issue ever of the comic book series, but the cover of that comic with that time’s current X-Men roster lined up in the recognizable yellow and blue team suits has become rather iconic.

And so, as part of next year’s X-Men 60th Anniversary collection of Marvel Legends action figures, Hasbro is commemorating that memorable cover by giving us the whole matching costumes X-Men lineup from it for the first time ever in toy form!

X-Men Retro Marvel Legends Wolverine Team Suit Yellow Blue Costume Figure Packaged

The yellow and blue Wolverine will be getting a solo release and has been up for order for a while, since there were 7 core X-Men members in Uncanny X-Men #275 but Hasbro is only releasing two 3-packs. That seems reasonable since this Wolverine version was first done by Toybiz in the very, very early 90s, and thus it will fit in swimmingly in the X-Men Legends Retro Series of vintage-styled throwback packaging.

Marvel Legends X-Men 3-Pack Forge Storm Jubilee

The first 3-pack contains Marvel Legends Storm, Forge and Jubilee in the classic yellow and blue costumes. This basically is the most recognizable and common look for Forge, so Hasbro has already done a six inch figure of him in this costume (albeit not with these yellow boots)—the Storm and Jubilee have never been done in toy form before, though (to my memory).

Marvel Legends Jubilee 2023 3-Pack Figure Blowing Bubble

Jubilee is my favorite 90s X-Man, so I’m rather chuffed to see a new never-before-done version of her in this set (along with an essential bubble gum blowing alternate head).

Marvel Legends X-Men Gambit Banshee Psylocke 3-Pack Figures 2023

The second 3-pack contains the much-requested Banshee redo, as well as Psylocke and Gambit. I think the star power is a bit greater in this set, although I expect both to sell equally well. Few fans will want to complete just half the team, in my opinion.

Marvel Legends Banshee Figure Yellow Blue 3-Pack Costume

Though this Marvel Legends Banshee figure won’t be in his more popular yellow and green color scheme, he will at least come with a screaming head (unlike Sean’s poor daughter, Siryn). I’m sure we’ll get the yellow/green Banshee as well before too long, but for marketing purposes doing this iteration first was the correct choice.

Uncanny X-Men 275 Cover

The one thing missing from the cover is a caped, crazy helmet-wearing Warlord Charles Xavier figure. I’d be down for a gold-helmeted figure like the one on the cover, but a story-accurate silver helmet Chuck might be too bland for me, personally.

X-Men Marvel Legends 2023 Blob Figure Hasbro

But that’s not all! The also-leaked Marvel Legends Blob deluxe figure was also officially announced this week and has joined the pre-orders!

Marvel Legends Blob Figure Packaged in Box

With an improved aesthetic to the hips and modern pin-less knees and elbows, I think this new ML Blob figure may be a popular pickup even for those who own the original Build-A-Figure. Now, if only we can get a Destiny figure to really complete this villainous mutant team!

These X-Men Marvel Legends 2023 figures are all up for pre-order now and scheduled to arrive in the spring. As a hardcore X-Men nut, all of these are absolute must-haves for me. What about you, Marvel collectors? Are any of these bound for your shelves next year?

2023 Marvel Legends Blob & X-Men 3-Packs Up for Order! — 3 Comments

  1. Most of these figures look pretty good and I think they’ll go over very well for X-Men fans. I’m not a huge X-Men fan myself but I have to say that some of the best Marvel Legends figures of all time have been X-Men or associated with them. That being said, these are an easy pass for me as I already have other iterations of several of the characters or I simply have no interest in adding them to my collection.

  2. Love the Banshee figure but overall this line up in these costumes don’t do much for me. I’d rather they focus on characters we haven’t gotten yet – I’d love a current Cypher, a “real” Wolfsbane and Magma figures to add to my New Mutants line up, a modern Captain Britain Betsy Braddock, etc.

  3. Like you, these are absolutely must haves for me. I preordered both sets. I fondly remember the Chris Claremont / Jim Lee run on the X-Men, and that cover to X-Men 275 is just as breathtaking today as it was then. It will provide the perfect backdrop for displaying these figures.
