Exclusive Marvel Legends Black Widow Grey & White Costume Comic Figures!

Last week I noted my surprise that the movie Black Widow Legends figure in white costume was going to be available via many retailers and not just as a Target or Walmart exclusive like last year’s pair of Captain Marvels. Well, looks like Hasbro was way ahead of me and had that box checked already with comic variants–a Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Grey Costume Black Widow is now up for order, and Target has their own comic-based white costume Black Widow as well!

For whatever reason, I forgot last week that with decades of history and recognizable costumes for Natasha, Hasbro could have their cake (and release the white movie costume at mass retail) and eat it too by still releasing limited exclusive comic book variants as store exclusives to Walmart and Target!

I thought I was pretty well satisfied with the Retro Black Widow Vintage-style figure and the Riders versions with motorcycle, but it turns out that Hasbro had two more iterations up their sleeve that they knew I wouldn’t resist!

Walmart Marvel Legends Black Widow Grey Costume Figure and Accessories

First up, we’ve got the Walmart Exclusive: Grey Costume Black Widow! This was popular in the comic books in the 90s, but much more importantly, it’s the gray suit Black Widow that’s been a four-star mainstay of Marvel Puzzle Quest for over half a decade! I probably could have passed on this figure if not for my MPQ fandom, but alas!

The Marvel Legends Grey Black Widow exclusive gives us a 6″ Natasha like we’ve never seen before, complete with jacket, short hair, and interchangeable hands and Widow’s Sting blasters and effects! This figure is straight-up fire, and it feels like a shame it’s getting a limited release instead of a mass one.

Meanwhile, Target has their own EX: a comic book version White Costume Black Widow Marvel Legends 6″ figure. This is a costume that only has limited exposure in the comic books (including appearing in Deadly Origin), making only sporadic appearances. I actually had the Sideshow Premium Format Figure statue of this costume back in the day, but realized I didn’t have any connection to the costume and ended up selling it.

I think we may see this white uniform appear more frequently in the comic books after being seen in the movie, and I’m on-board for a $20 figure even if I didn’t need a $400 statue of this version. The Target figure has 3 guns and 4 effects pieces, so I want it even if just for the accessories anyway.

Target Exclusive Marvel Legends White Costume Black Widow 6 Inch Figure and Accessories

The Marvel Legends Walmart Exclusive Black Widow is up for order now online, and the Target exclusive is expected to go up for PO as well later today. These particular retailer exclusives can either end up being plentiful or a PITA to find at retail, so I just went ahead and reserved my GSBW from Walmart (and will hopefully do the same for Target’s as well shortly).

Any takers (besides me!) on these new comic book variant Black Widow Legends figures? Has Hasbro covered all the bases now for Natasha, or are there still costumes you’d like to see in 6″ form (Original costume, anyone)?

  1. After looking at my Marvel Legends Black Widow/Winter Soldier 2 pack version I feel like there are a couple of things missing with these figures… just a couple of missing features… hmm. Yeah.. hard pass on these. I’m good with the Widow I have.

You guys let me know when you stop being so squeamish about female anatomy, Hasbro.

    • I know right!?! Why didn’t they include swappable upper arms for gray Widow to complete both looks!

  2. Wow, talk about over-kill. You’ve got her from the regular wave, full cases of the deluxe version, AND NOW full cases of these?!?!? Yeah…that’s a just a bit much….Expect to seem them EVERYWHERE and at clearance at some point.

    • Right? I guess Hasbro must have done well doing the same thing with Captain Marvel last year.

  3. Hope this isn’t another Danvers Disappointment.

I can’t believe I paid 20 bucks for a figure they now sell for 7.

  4. I preordered the gray suit version. I thought I had enough Black Widow figures…I will have 3 MCU versions, and I already have 2 comic versions, vintage and motorcycle rider ones. The gray suit version was Black Widow when I was reading comics, and although I’m not a fan of the short hair, I still like the 90’s team look. So, I caved, and hopefully, this will be my last Black Widow figure.

  5. I’m all good on Black Widow figures, but I’d like to have the heads on either of these to use elsewhere. I’ll be holding back and only buying some more BWs if they are on clearance later. They look nice though. If I didn’t already have three or four versions of her… I’m not gonna Iron Man her and end up with 6 figures of the same character.

  6. I’ll admit, some figures I’m like, “Shut up ad take my money.” I think the grey costume may be on the cusp of this. We’ll see.

  7. White Widow is an insta-buy for me!
Dunno why people complain with over exposure of a character that rarely gets the spotlight… we got 4 Widows this year… we get like 6 or 7 iron man and spideys every year… Don’t like, don’t buy. Don’t spoil the party for BW fans that will never get this many iterations in one year again.

    • Exactly! No Widows, people complain, four awesome & unique looking ones, people complain. Besides, both of these are worth it for the accessories alone and both face sculpts feels like Hasbro`s (&Toybiz, lol) best female faces yet! Sucks that they are exclusives, though…

    • I’m fine with it! A few years ago collectors and fans in general complained about the lack of Black Widow merch when The Avengers hit theatres. We didn’t get a Legends BW until Captain America: The Winter Soldier released! The current merch supports the new BW movie so again….bring it on! 😁

  8. That grey suited Widow is an instabuy for me, maybe two even, since that head is fantastic.

  9. The advantage of living in the uk, don’t have to worry about store exclusives, as all these are available at all uk online stores. Whilest in the US all you have to do is wait a few weeks and all these will be at clearance. I PO the deluxe an grey Natasha. Hope Greta dos’t direct her attention on Hasbro for all this use of plastic .

    • Hahahahaha, if i could like comments, yours deserves one! (Am Swedish, do not like the brat. Demanding change does not make it happen.)

    • Actually Hasbro has pledged to remove all plastic from their packaging. I think this means that ML figures will come in windowless boxes, meaning that all the swapper thieves won’t have to try as hard. Also, you won’t be able to check for sloppy paint jobs, so it will be like that time when a bunch of people bought the SDCC Hulk and received figures that look like he smeared his mascara from crying.

    • Somebody drop that rugrat in a volcano already. I’ll be watching while eating a steak with my White female wife while sipping delicious liberal tears out of a non-biodegradable styrofoam cup with a plastic straw.

  10. Glad they are providing a couple of comic Widow figures, unlike Cap Marvel where we got 4 mcu versions. That said, I’ll probably hold off on these as I’m pretty content with vintage Widow and rider Widow for the comic side, as well as IW Widow and mandroid wave Widow for the mcu side. Might pick up whichever of these new Widow figs end up on clearance, though. Grey Widow is probably the one of greatest interest to me, the white costume just goes against her name too much
