I’ll be honest: I may genuinely own more vinyl collectible figures than I do action figures. See, I went through a phase where I bought hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of Disney Vinylmation vinyl figures each year. So, generally, I’m pretty aware of what’s going on in the vinyl collecting world. That’s why I was so surprised when I turned the corner at my local comic book store yesterday and came face-to-face with a display of figures I didn’t even know had been released: the Funko Iron Man 3 POP! Vinyls figure line…

Vinyl figures are an acquired taste. Their super-deformed style is, quite frankly, not for everyone. And even when you do like vinyls, not every vinyl figure produced is a winner. Such may be the case with many of these Funko POP! Vinyl Iron Man 3 bobble head figures.

The plain Iron Man and War Machine Funko vinyl figures for this movie gave me a prevailing feeling of “been there, done that”, as Funko Marvel vinyls of both characters have been done before, so these felt like a bit of a rehash.

The one figure that I did love and decided to buy is the Deep Space Suit Iron Man Funko bobble head figure. This is the much-loved Iron Man Gemini armor from the “Iron Man 3” movie (although Funko probably didn’t have that official name designation when they made the packaging for this figure). The Funko Iron Man Deep Space Suit vinyl bobblehead looks totally unique and striking in its white, grey, and gold color scheme, and is easily the most interesting of the four Iron Man 3 vinyl figures released for the film (the other three figures released by Funko are Iron Man Mark XLII, War Machine, and the Iron Patriot).

Most Funko POP! Vinyl figures released for specific movies are only available during the months surrounding a movie’s release, so if you’re thinking you might want a figure or a set of these POP! Vinyl Iron Man 3 figures, now would be the time to get them.
