Funko Marvel Red Hulk POP! Vinyl Figure Announced!

You might think that there’s no room in my collection for anything else with all the statues, sixth-scale figures, building sets, action figures, plush toys, mini-busts, and staction figures that I buy. But actually, there’s one other brand of collecting that I’m big into: vinyl figures. I own hundreds of Disney vinyl figurines (in fact, I have a whole Vinylmation website), but I also have a couple Marvel vinyl figures. I only have a few Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls because they’ve been pretty hit-or-miss, but sometimes Funko puts out a gamma-charged blockbuster. Case in point: the just-announced Funko! Marvel Red Hulk POP! Vinyl figure…

Funko Red Hulk Marvel POP Vinyl Figure

I’ve never gotten into the full-size Funko POP! Vinyl Marvel figures in the way that I got into lines like Disney Vinylmation or even Hasbro Mighty Muggs. I know tons of people love the unique sculpts of the Funko vinyl figures, but I miss the design painted on a generic canvas figures that you see so often for urban vinyls. That said, I own my fair shair of Funko Marvel POP! Vinyl Bobble Head figures, and this Red Hulk is way, way too cute not to add to that number.

Avengers Spider-Man #2 Variant Cover with Red HulkWhen Red Hulk first showed up in the comics a few years ago, I outright rejected him immediately. When I found out the near-omnipotent Red Hulk was secretly General Thunderbolt Ross, I was even more resistant. But, well–things changed and now I love Red Hulk. He’s doofy, but I’m in love with his character designs and he’s my kind of doofy. I didn’t know that you could make Red Hulk “cute”, but Funko has proven me wrong–this just may be the cutest Marvel POP! Vinyl figure ever.

The Funko Red Hulk Marvel POP! Vinyl Bobble-Head figure is now up for pre-order. It should arrive at the end of May 2013 to online retailers, and then appear at regular brick and mortar stores just a little bit later on.
