Exclusive Funko Hikari Metallic Hulk Up for Order! LE 750!

If some hoodlum ever stopped me on the street and demanded at gunpoint to know what my favorite line was that I saw among the hundreds of new toys at the 2015 Toy Fair in February, I’d be able to answer without much thought all all: Funko Hikari. And while most of the Hikari at the show that caught my eye were Star Wars-themed, a whole assortment of Hulks debuted there as well. And the time for the first Hulk has now come–the exclusive Funko Hikari Metallic Hulk is now up for order!

Funko Hikari Metallic Hulk Figure LE 750

Marvel has gotten off to a bit of a slow start as Funko Hikari Sofubi vinyls go, with only two characters released thus far (Spider-Man and Groot), with one more arriving later this month (Deadpool).

Thankfully, Funko gave us a hefty sneak peek at the figure of the line at the New York Toy Fair 2015, where I got to photograph the debuting Hikari Iron Man and eight different Hikari Hulk colorways (including Red Hulks, Grey Hulks and Green Hulks!).

Funko Hikari Red Hulk & Grey Hulk Vinyl Sofubi FiguresEver since Toy Fair, I’ve been waiting (slightly less than) patiently for the first of the Hulk Hikaris to be officially announced by Funko and put up for order, and the destined day is finally here: the Metallic Hulk Funko Hikari is now open for orders!

Metallic Hulk Funko Hikari Figure BoxFunko made a solid choice for the first version of Hulk to solicit, as it’s an iconic green Hulk with purple pants–but it’s also a very popular type of Funko colorways: metallic. The glossy paints make this Metallic Hulk Hikari feel ever so slightly reminiscent of the fan-favorite Toybiz Marvel Legends Mecha Hulk figure from way back in the day.

Marvel Legends Mecha Hulk Figure Toybiz

The Mecha Hulk Marvel Legends action figure was a very memorable figure that remains desirable to this day, so evoking it is definitely not a bad thing. In fact, the more I liken this Hulk vinyl figure to that Mecha Hulk robot figure, the more I’m liking this figure!

And let’s talk edition size: Metallic Hulk is limited to just 750 pieces. That’s a fairly small number for the first version of a character, especially when it’s a metallic colorway (which tend to be popular). Considering that Funko gave the plain Groot Hikari an astronomical edition size of 6000 (thus crashing the market on that particular Groot), I think Funko has learned their lesson now.

Funko Hulk Metallic Hikari Figure 2015 ExclusiveThe Funko Metallic Hulk Hikari vinyl is now available for pre-order at Entertainment Earth, which is the exclusive retailer receiving this vinyl Sofubi. So don’t bother watching other stores for discounts on this guy–he should only be available via EE (while he lasts). I was a bit bummed when I saw that he wasn’t due out until June–until I realized that’s just two months away! I’ll definitely be looking forward to hulking up this summer!

How do you like the first of the Hulk Funko Hikari figures to go up for pre-sale, Marvel fans? Anyone who was hesitating on this line decide to jump in for Hulk, or are you still resisting the pricey allure of Funko Hikari Sofubi vinyls?

  1. Never was a fan of the Hulk. And now that hes been released in a Hikari vinyl, i still dont care for him. These Lily Ledy like things are a waste of money imo.
If they were $10-30 i might snag a few, but there not. This Hulk figure looks partially painted. In the 90s my Dad would buy me Marvel lucha libre vinyl figs from the swap meet just like this one.
