Marvel Funko Compound Hulk POP! Vinyl Exclusive Figure Announced!

Back in July during SDCC 2013, photos leaked out of a pair of hitherto-unannounced Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl figures: a Peter Parker POP Vinyl and a Compound Hulk POP Vinyl. We’ve gone a while with nary a word about either figure, but since both are mere repaints, it was always pretty certain that they would turn up eventually–and now, the first one has! Coming in October 2013 as a limited retailer exclusive, it’s the Funko Compound Hulk POP! Vinyl figure!

Compound Hulk is one of those characters that no one seems to care about except for toy companies–because, well… he’s a quick and easy repaint figure to do (although not particularly accurately). Hasbro released a Marvel Universe Compound Hulk figure that flopped as a New York Comic Con 2011 exclusive (which is probably among the contributing factors as to why Hasbro has seemingly sworn off NYCC exclusives ever since), and now Funko is taking a crack at the asymmetrical beast that is Compound Hulk.

So no–though I wasn’t expecting him before he turned up in the Funko book at SDCC 2013, I’m not surprised to see a Funko Compound Hulk Marvel POP! Vinyl rear its head. What did make me drop my jaw a bit is that Funko has issued the POP! Vinyl Compound Hulk a unique number–39–an honor that is typically reserved only for unique character releases and almost never for retailer exclusives.

You only need one of the many Deadpool variants to fill the number 20 spot in your Marvel Funko POP! Vinyls collection, but purchasing this Red Hulk is going to be the only way to fill spot 39.

The Marvel Compound Hulk Funko POP! Vinyl figure is a limited edition of 2,500 produced and is scheduled to be released in early October 2013. You can place pre-orders for the figure now at the ToyAnxiety website.
