Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends Avengers 5-Pack!

I’m very fond of Marvel Toy News’ track record of only having reported news that’s ended up being 100% true since the site’s inception, so I tend to err on the side of caution with what gets reported here. As such, when a totally unannounced Marvel Legends 5-Pack consisting entirely of old molds turned up in an auction listing–on April Fools’ Day–I hesitated to report it. But as it turns out, looks like I’m the fool–Hasbro has now confirmed that this European Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends 5-Pack is the real deal!

Marvel Legends Avengers 5-Pack Set Disney Store Exclusive

On April 1st, an ebay auction listing turned up online for what appeared to be a totally unannounced, never-before-seen Marvel Legends Avengers Infinite Series 5-Pack. The contents of the set are repaints of five previously released Marvel Legends 6″ figures, so the box set’s authenticity seemed a little, well… questionable.

And so, I decided to wait it out and see when or if Hasbro would confirm the legitimacy of the Avengers Marvel Legends 5-Pack before reporting on what could have easily turned out to be a custom or bootleg. It took the better part of a week, but Hasbro actually has confirmed this as being a real, Hasbro-produced product! Go figure!

The five figures included in this set are as follows:

Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends Iron Man FigureMarvel Legends Bleeding Edge Iron Man Repaint

Bleeding Edge Iron Man may have rotted on the pegs for a year when the Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends series was in stores, but now he’s back–in bright, classic colors, and with an alternate Tony Stark head!

Collectors have been wanting a new ML Tony Stark head for a while, and I actually like the new colors on this Iron Man Bleeding Edge repaint quite a bit, so this figure gets a thumbs-up from me.

Next we’ve got what is sure to be the main incentive for many fans to pick up this set: a repaint of the Marvel Legends Hulk figure from the Toys R Us Hulk/Valkyrie two-pack!

While this McGuinness-inspired Hulk figure looks crazy stylized compared to the other figures in the set, the original release of this figure sells for upwards of $100 on the aftermarket, so many a collector will be thrilled to see him back in circulation (even if it’s as part of an exclusive multipack).

Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends Ultron FigureMarvel Legends Ultron Figure

Third, we’ve got a repaint of the Ultron repaint from the Marvel Legends Iron Man 3 line. This figure was a pain to find for months before suddenly turning up in droves, but it’s still easily the best Marvel Legends Ultron figure ever made (at least, until that awesome Ultron Build-A-Figure comes out).

Marvel Legends Disney Store Exclusive Thor FigureMarvel Legends Thor Figure

Next, it’s yet another repaint of the Marvel Legends Thor figure from the Terrax Series. This is the fourth time we’ve seen this Thor mold now, and I’d be okay with it if it was the last. As nice as it is, this modern Thor figure is too large and lacking ankle rockers.

This time, the Thor Marvel Legends figure is rocking a slightly darker color scheme, with his tunic being more black and less blue.

Marvel Legends Marvel Now Captain America Disney Store Exclusive FigureMarvel Legends Captain America Figure

Finally, we’ve got the Marvel Legends Marvel Now Captain America, back with a darker blue paint scheme of his own!

This was a great figure in last year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier Infinite Series, and dare I say that I like him a little bit more now in his new dark blue costume?

I think that this was a very underrated Cap figure when it came out last year (perhaps because of the flood of other Cap merch out last year), and I think a lot of folks who skipped him the first time might be happy to have him in 2015 as part of this multi-pack.

European Exclusive Disney Store Avengers Infinite Series 5-Pack Box SetAs of now, this Marvel Legends Avengers Infinite Series 5-Pack is a European Disney Store exclusive. That said, I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t end up over here in the United States at some point later this year. It’s very unusual for Europe to get a Disney Store exclusive item that doesn’t turn up in the U.S. a little later on, and I don’t see this set breaking that trend.

What do you think of what may be the first-ever European Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends set, Marvel collectors? Are you hoping to see this set get a North American release, or are you okay without this box set full of repaints in your collection?

Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends Avengers 5-Pack! — 30 Comments

  1. I sort of like the 5 pack. Its a good idea… just poor execution. Not a fan of the classic Iron Man colors on a modern armor. Thor is way too large in scale, and the Hulk figure reminds me of a weird Bandai release. As much as i love Ultron, i would of prefered Vision. I think Hasbro missed a great opportunity…

  2. I think it’s up to the Disney Store to decide what toys they would like to see released from Marvel. I know it is with Marvel Select based on the Art Asylum Q&A, so it’s hard to imagine it not being the same type of relationship with Hasbro. I’m just guessing. Correct me if I’m wrong.

  3. An eBay seller had 5 of these Sunday, one of which I picked up for 69.99, I can’t see retail being anymore than that.

    • I highly doubt this. Can you post a link to that auction? I’m guessing the set alone is going to cost $100.00

        • I just now noticed your accusation, but I don’t feel the need to make crap up like a lot of the douchers in this community.

          • Why in the world do you need 4??? Do you really think you are going to make money reselling these? The only figure people will possibly be after is the stark head and hulk.

          • Oh you are doomsday57 on eBay, the guy trying to sell these for over 150$, lmao, I hope you get stuck with all of these, I noticed you tried selling these at 170 a few days back and now your at 145, you are gradually making your way down, scalper scum.

          • Lol. Kind of hard being a scalper when there isn’t even a suggested MSRP on those yet. But yeah I sold them all. Capitalism baby! Supply and demand. Love it!

  4. I wanted hulk the most, I’m sick of all the movie hulks and I did not get the 2 pack so I will be selling off the rest.

    • I’ll buy that stark head off you. Seriously, its all I would want in this pack.

      • Exactly my thinking. Iron man!
Plus I’m happy to see Hasbro put out a 5 pack of ML!

        • That reply was to you fragger, also, I kind of had this idea to use the extra iron man box from the thanks case I bought and taking out the iron man it came with and the head and replacing both the head and iron man with the 5 pack head and iron man and selling it as a whole boxed figure as a variant type deal, even though it isn’t the actual variant.

  5. I do not doubt this set will be offered in the USA. It’s the Hulk I see as the most desired since the Valkrye 2-pack is too expensive in the secondary market.

  8. Well it was bullshit about this coming out here in the UK. Nothing ever arrived. Mind you it’s no skin off my nose, who wants rereleases of figures anyway just in a bulk pack?

  9. Now €44,95 on sale, still in the french Disneystores!
You can’t find them at DisneyLand Paris.

  10. MSRP 149,95Eur in Spain…very few went on sale at 30Eur…just to clear the self before year end inventory.
Lucky you if you got the bargain price
