Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Starfox & Nebula Figures Leaked!

It’s been a tad slow around here lately, but today we’ve got some news to report from the most bizarre of places: a Chinese auction site! Yes, Taobao, the much-beloved auction site preferred by many sellers with stolen factory products, has uncovered two previously-unannounced possible SDCC 2014 exclusive Hasbro Marvel Universe 2014 Marvel Infinite Series figures: Starfox and Nebula! If your first reaction to those names is “Wait… who?”, read on…

Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Starfox Figure SDCC 2014We are a scant two months out from San Diego Comic Con 2014, so it was only a matter of time until some news and rumors began to leak regarding this year’s 2014 SDCC Marvel exclusives from Hasbro. And finally, thanks to some scrapper and/or factory thief, we get our first glance at a pair of quasi-obscure Marvel cosmic characters!

She-Hulk #6 Cover Dan Slott Starfox Issue

First up, Marvel Infinite Series Starfox (no, not the Nintendo Starfox). Here’s a guy who I never expected to see a major company release an action figure of. See, Starfox’s powers are, uh… “romantically charged”. Eros (Starfox) uses his abilities to, ummm… stimulate the pleasure centers in the brains of others. No, I’m not making this stuff up. Starfox was an Avenger, is the brother of Thanos, and had criminal charges filed against him in Dan Slott’s classic She-Hulk series (for obvious reasons).

In a usual display of cheapness and parts reuse, Hasbro has apparently just repainted the Marvel Universe Quicksilver head to make it Starfox. The hair is not quite right, but I suppose it’ll do in a pinch. The base body being reused for the Starfox action figure mold is not one of the more beloved Marvel Universe molds, but Eros was a pretty slim guy, so I think it works well enough.

Marvel Infinite Series Nebula Figure SDCC 2014 ExclusiveNext up, it’s the Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Nebula figure! Not to be confused with Gamora, Nebula is rumored to be Thanos’ granddaughter instead of his daughter. Though she has no powers of any kind, Nebula is a superb leader and a great strategist. She’s appeared in many classic Marvel comic book stories (such as the Skrull Civil War), and more importantly, is set to appear in this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Nebula appears to be another figure that’s a total repaint, but in this case, it totally works.

Marvel Nebula Panel from Marvel Comics Comic Book with Infinity Gauntlet

Given that these two figures represent relatives of Thanos and are not characters who really have anything to do with the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comic books, I’d conjecture that Hasbro is putting together some sort of Thanos Family exclusive set for SDCC 2014. If so, I’d assume we’ll see a figure of Thanos himself included (obviously a repaint), and perhaps Gamora and Lady Death to round out the series. Time will tell.

What do you think about the possibility of Nebula and Starfox SDCC 2014 Marvel Infinite Series exclusive figures, Marvel collectors? Are these the type of characters you’d be interested in seeing Hasbro release as a con exclusive (or even at mass retail), or were you hoping for something different?

Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Starfox & Nebula Figures Leaked! — 18 Comments

  1. I want the Starfox “no mouth” variant from the Infinity Gauntlet storyline!

    • Its like you are reading my mind! TFs and Marvel get all my $$$!

  2. That Starfox is the Quicksilver figure from the Quicksilver & Wonderman Two-Pack. Nebula….who cares. Bring me the Swordsman, Powerman (Not Luke Cage) The Living Laser, And the Executioner! Avengers Annual #1! We need a series comprised of Villains.

  3. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard to date. This is not going to be an exclusive if so that would genuinely suck! I would say they might end up being singles or something.

  4. Seriously? How about a repaint of Black Panther? Human Torch? Vision? Starfox and Nebula! Whose idea was that, Larry, Curly, or Moe? No Quasar, no Rick Jones. I’m at a loss.

    • Uh,Yeah that was me. I did it,The missing stooge.lol. Somehow got my mitts on the infinity gauntlet….btw: as a Ric, we are a patient lot,Mr.Jones day will come!

  5. Wow! So much passion for a toy line that is Not marvel legends!
I do so hope these are singles and not SDCC because I actually would like to be able to acquire them!

  6. Not at all interested. As some have mentioned, why not figure best known as the Executioner, lady death strike, Emma Frost, Juggernaut Colossus, NorthStar, spiral, a sentinel, perhaps nemerod and even Planet Hulk charactere.

  7. Man, I was just thinking about this dude the other day! Even though he’s basically a kit-bash/repaint, Starfox is an awesome surprise since he helps complete the 80’s Roger Stern-era Avengers line-up. Never thought we’d see him so soon after guys like Hercules and the Black Knight. I think we just need the Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel to complete that particular roster.

Nebula is also a neat surprise. I was reading the Avengers for several years when she made her debut. Now, I want more characters from those years. Bring us Tigra, Jarvis, the furry blue Beast, safari jacket Wonder Man, and a bunch of additional Masters of Evil members!!!

is a link to a never before seen Kingpin figure i also found at Taobao, which I found out about through this article about the Starfox and Nebula figures. It is very interesting to me both as a Marvel Universe collector and as a Chinese language teacher. I’m very busy, but would love to get more involved in using my Chinese language skills to bridge the gap between the Chinese that make our toys and we Americans who buy them. Couldn’t find any trace of the Starfox and Nebula figures, maybe they were already snatched up

    • That Kingpin looks like a custom job too me.
Plus, I don’t see Hasbro trying to sell a toy holding a cigarette to kids.
Parents would be in an uproar! lol

    • They are……….and those are the real thing.
      Yep, totally skipping these.
I would’ve rather had a full scale Groot or ………….Northstar!!!

  9. I think the head is from marvel universe quicksilver . If released yes I would get one each. They need to do more villains . Whirl wind is a good figure ! More masters of evil would be fun. Melter , Black Knight on the winged steed , executioner / scourge three pack would be amazing . Classic Avengers villains. Comic convention set I would like to own from marvel infinite series 🙂 thanks .
