Marvel Legends Avengers Odin Wave Released in the US!

Next week is the big week when most retail stores in the United States will start to become covered in Avengers Age of Ultron toys that should take up loads of shelf space for most of 2015, but that doesn’t mean that some stores aren’t starting the attack by releasing the Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 1 figures a week early! Reports are coming in from the midwest that Target stores have released the series a bit early, and we’ve got the photos (including the receipt!) to confirm them…

Marvel Legends 2015 Avengers Wave 1 Released in the US

Once I heard a few days ago that the Marvel Legends Odin wave had begun to pop up in Canada, I had a hunch that we’d be seeing sightings of the series begin in the United States within a few days. And to the ecstasy of long-suffering Hasbro Marvel Legends fans who’ve been waiting for a new mass-release line for over six months–they have arrived!

I started to hear reports overnight from mid-western states, including Ohio and Illinois, that the Odin Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 1 figures had arrived and been put out in their Target stores.

Marvel Legends Avengers Odin Wave Receipt Chicago ILWilliam M. was nice enough to post photos on the Marvel Toy News Facebook Page earlier today, showing us not only the packaged figures in the U.S., but also the killer price-point that he ended up paying for the figures! The new Avengers Marvel Legends action figures were put on the pegs with the discounted Captain America Legends figures (which share the same DPCI), so William got the figures for 50% off–$9.99 each! I wish I had luck like that!

Marvel Legends 2015 Avengers Infinite Series Wave 1 Released

The Marvel Legends 2015 Avengers Infinite Series unfortunately have the same Target DPCI number as last year’s Captain America Marvel Legends series of figures (087-06-2560), so it’s impossible to know whether Target has the Avengers wave or a leftover case of Cap figures in the back without having someone pull out the case.

Hopefully most of those Marvel Legends Captain America figure cases from 2014 are almost wiped out in most areas, making the DPCI Inventory checker more usable, but I’ve still seen plenty of fresh Cap cases in the greater Boston area.

Marvel Legends Odin Build-A-Figure In-Hand ImagesFor those who need a reminder, the case assortment for the Avengers Wave 1 Marvel Legends series is:

(2) Avengers Marvel Legends Hawkeye Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Thor Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Sentry Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Carol Danvers Captain Marvel Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Machine Man Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Iron Fist Figure
(1) Avengers Marvel Legends Scarlet Witch Figure

If you’ve found the Avengers Marvel Legends Wave 1 figures at your local store and want to chime in with a sighting, please feel free to leave a reply to help your fellow collectors get a feeling for when and where this much-anticipated assortment of Marvel Legends 6″ figures is finally hitting stores!

Marvel Legends Avengers Odin Wave Released in the US! — 37 Comments

  1. So the hunt begins. Not happy about the new wave sharing dpci, now checking every morning is going to become a chore…but will be exciting if I can track them down within the first week…After that I’ll be over it

    • I wish hunting was like it used to be. I think that one of the most pathetic things so called collectors do is when they call up at a store, and have them hold items for them. How is that hunting? Go and order them from dorkside or bbts if you are to freakin lazy to go actually try to hunt these down. The whole point of the hunt is to try and find them, don’t ruin it for everyone else because you don’t want to hunt yourself, order them online if that’s how you want to buy your stuff. This isn’t directed at you Danny, I just wanted to comment on hunting since you mentioned the hunt begins. I love the thrill of the hunt, but knowing that people do this makes takes a lot of the joy out of it for me. And most of the time, the people that are doing this are the ones that are scalping to. There are so many hypocrites in the toy forums, which is why Im not amember of any of them.

      • EDIT* one of the most pathetic things so called collectors do is when they call up at a store, and have them hold items for them when new stuff is just coming out.

        • Wow. God bless America. Did you ever think that there is two sides to every story? That every collector,American, immigrant man, woman and child/person does not fall into your narrow one-sided view or definition? Target and other businesses offer hold services as a courtesy to its “guests”/customers for a wide range of products, yes including toys and games. Are you mad with the stores for doing good business?
I am a nerd. Proud of it. My brother is a jock/nerd. So he is highly competitive. I ask him the same thing I ask you: there has to be art and everything can’t be sport! Do you believe that or is all of reality just a big compettion that you must win?
And if you think calling stores to hold items is easy, try it.
It is very challenging and one must have the virtue of patience.
The lack of knowledge by various retail workers borders on the hilarious. No. They make me laugh sometimes that they don’t know the difference between Baron Zemo and AIM scientist. Lol. Then there is the waiting on hold, and talking to different people who all don’t know what you’re talking about. Call next store and Repeat.
It can be frustrating. I would rather go to the store and see for myself and I usually do to avoid the confusion, when I can, but I am a caregiver for my 81 yr old sick mother.
I also ride public transportation. I do not have a fiat, prius, honda, chevy or ford to jump in for trips down to the local brick mortars on a hunting circuit. Do you begruge me using what methods that are made available to me?
Judge not lest ye be judged by the same measure OR
Walk a mile in another man’s shoes before you judge him.
I find it very ironic that the ideals these little plastic men represent are distorted like some supervillain’s evil plot in the name of indignant greed.
Thank goodness my store follows procedure and asks me for my name. And if another gets my toys?,well, enjoy them and be blessed,
at the end of the day, there are WAY more important issues.
          Happy collecting!

      • not really. if you go to a store and you think someone held items, then go to customer service and say you’re the one that called in to hold the items. I did that several times when I was there like ten minutes after opening. some guy had em reserved right at 8:01am and so I said “oh that was me on the phone earlier”

        lol.

        • HaHA, Kudos to you my friend, I like your style, I will definitely try that one time. I thought about it once but I always think they are gonna want to know my name or something and then when I tell them they wont sell them to me, lol That’s my luck anyways.

  2. I went to two different Target here in Chicago today and nothing. People working there looked perplexed when I ask them about when the new wave was coming. Anyways, in the TRU website they have hawkeye listed for preorder with shipping date of 2/4. So maybe I’ll try again after the weekend.

    • I checked 2 more target stores on wednesday, including the one from the recipe picture and nothing, but I saw someone on ebay selling the new figures from a burb not far from here. Maybe I’ve just been SOL.

  3. Is Target the only retail location for these? Is there a good place to get them online?

    • Cyanotic: Toys R Us, Walmart and other retail stores should have this year’s Marvel Legends figures out soon–Target is just first.

For online retailers, the best/cheapest option for cases of the Odin wave right now is EE, who are selling the cases of 8 at the retail cost and with free shipping.

Dorkside had the cases at the same price and with free shipping, but are now sold out. BBTS still has cases available at the same price, but the shipping will cost $10 and up depending on where you live.

    • Lol. I have a cousin Tony who lives in Reno…
I’m a few hours away, might just have to go cross state lines for this wave.

  4. i checked my target in new jersy but they still don’t have them available. This is a husk. lol

  5. Read your story on the new figures showing up at Target and so I went into the Target in Bellevue, NE on a lark tonight and found one of all 8 of the new figures. They were still $19.99 but I’m delighted to have them in hand and at a comparable price. They also had the 3 pack of Ms. Marvel, Captain America, and Radioactive Man at an amazing $24.99. They had about 8 of these latter sets on the shelf tonight. Looks like webmaster for this website was right again when you originally told us collectors not to pay gouging prices and to wait for it to be eventually on clearance. Thanks for your good advice and analysis.

  6. It pisses me off that you found the 3 pack for $25! Congrats to to you, but because of the threat of missing out due to scalpers gulping things up, I wasted no time getting mine week one of their release! I saw the set for $30 here in So Cal.

    • I think Target will price match itself if the item went down, but I’m not sure. Otherwise, their receipts are good for 90 days so you could buy one for the current $30 and return it with the original receipt for $50 or whatever you initially paid. Just trying to help.

      • …and your suggestion is GREATLY appreciated! I have to dig the receipts up and hope I made it in under the 90 days. You know I’ll shout you out if I’m good! Thanks again.

        • ARGH!!! I missed the cut by one week!!! The thing that has me angry at myself is the price on the 3 pack went down a good while ago and worse, what you said about the 90 days is right there at the top of the receipt! I could’ve made up the difference at least a month ago!!! You HAVE given me some good insight however. Just buy the figures and hold on to the receipt. I believe they usually get reduced 2 months after release on average. Thanks for the advice.

  7. found a single lonesome hawkeye at target in Abington, MA tonight….so they are in the boston area now….

  8. Fond the whole set at our local target, did not get the awsome price this guy did, but I found the set none the less, have pics of the figures, can you post pictures on here?

  9. Found Thor, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Sentry, Machine Man, and Iron Fist…enough to build Odin…19.99 each at Target in Virginia Beach, VA. They also had the box set of Cap/Ms. Marvel/Radioactive Man for $24.99. Glad I waited on that set!

  10. They have the Marvel Legends Allfather/King Thor wave in Houston, Texas now. I got the whole set from a Walmart. Collectors, don’t forget to check HEB and Super Kroger’s (grocery stores) as well.

  11. At least in the Mid-Atlantic region, only Walmart and TRU seem to have the new wave in plentiful stock, with the selection at Walmart better by far–by comparison haven’t seen a single figure on peg yet at our area Target stores.

Regarding the argument against the “collector call-around” method, the poster who knocked it needs to try it once or twice to see how, errr… “easy” that is! Had I gone only by the calling around, I’d have missed out on the TRU Jubilee. I chanced that the same store showing 0 in stockroom bays had the count incorrect and when I stopped there later–whaddaya know! They broke open a fresh case from the back for the three figures I needed to complete the BAF. Calling is simply another tool in the repertoire.

Bottom line is that there are many differences between a savvy collector and an outright scalper–the collector takes only what she needs and passes on that no-baf-piece ROML Thor on peg knowing that she can get it later on clearance *and* sleep well knowing that the kid who bought it with his allowance money afterward is really enjoying it!

  12. I found figures 1-5 at toysrus in plantation florida but no luck with either female figure with head piece

  13. Entire sets are warming pegs in Western NC — Kmart, Walmart, etc. Looks like ZERO movement in some stores (Kmart, WalMart) over the last week.

    • Looks like your area is in a much searched for “cold” spot. My collector friends speak of finding such places on trips out of town. When I first started,I made an effort to find these places in a 50 mile radius. These things still haven’t hit my Targets or Walgreens. Wal-Mart’s and ToysRus gets them, but can’t keep them in stock. Well, all but Hawkeye whose warming the pegs! So it’s different here.

  14. One year later and you can currently find these at Target. Picked up an Iron Fist and Thor for $15 each. Considering Thor is going for $30 on Amazon and sold out elsewhere on the Web, this was nearly a steal. I recently made a decision to (talked my wife into) build the Allfather for my one-year-old son’s room (his name is Odin). I got him the 7-inch scale Marvel Select Thor on his first birthday to decorate his dresser and when I put the Legends one next to it, it turns out they are the same size…Iron Fist looks like a little guy.

I have the Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Sentry on order, so Odin can build an Odin this weekend.
