Revoltech Magneto & Captain America Figures Revealed!

While we just completed one of the two biggest domestic collectibles events of the year last week (SDCC 2017, for those with short memories), one of Japan’s biggest shows of the year is taking place this weekend: Summer Wonder Fest (Wonder Festival) 2017! And even though there aren’t a ton of new Marvel toys displayed at the show, Kaiyodo has brought their ‘A’-game with two new 6″figures fans worldwide are gonna love: the Revoltech Magneto and Captain America figures have now been revealed!

WonderFest 2017 Summer Revoltech Magneto Figure

I had my doubts about whether or not the Kaiyodo Revoltech Marvel comic-based figures series would last past year one, but that benchmark has been passed, and the line seems to be rolling along stronger than ever!

Revoltech Spider-Gwen arrived in the United States weeks ago and Wolverine has gone up for order, so it’s about time we got to see painted prototypes of the next two entries in the line: Magneto and Captain America.

Magneto Revoltech Accessories Unhelmeted Head Effects PiecesFirst up is the figure expected to be up for order next: Revoltech Magneto! What with Wolverine arriving in just a few months, it makes sense for the first X-Men villain to arrive soon after, right?

Magneto comes with an interchangeable unmasked head, which honestly looks better than any Hasbro Marvel Legends Erik Lensherr head ever, in my opinion. He also has interchangeable hands in case you want Magneto to get into a fist fight (for some reason).

Revoltech Magneto Figure Articulated Cape FlyingThe real fun comes in the form of the Magneto Revoltech figure’s magnetic energy effects pieces and super-awesome articulated cape, though! I know some folks can’t stand visible articulation on capes, but in this instance, I think it looks just too cool.

Captain America Revoltech Figure Unmasked HeadMeanwhile, Captain America will be the first comics-based Classic Avengers to get the Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech treatment. While we’ve had plenty of Iron Man Revoltechs over the years, they’ve all been movie-based, so the “First Avenger” (at least in the MCU) also gets to be the first Revoltech Avenger.

Revoltech Captain America will come with his classic shield, an energy effects piece to clip onto the shield, an interchangeable unmasked Steve Rogers head, an alternate yelling face plate for the Steve Rogers head, and quite a few interchangeable hands.

Some fans are bound to dislike that Kaiyodo selected the Marvel NOW costume for Cap, but my biggest beef with this figure is, well… Cap’s beefy legs. Man, talk about thunder-thighs! Lots to love about this figure, but I hate those husky legs.

Revoltech Captain America Figure CrouchingThe Marvel Revoltech Captain America and Magneto figures are expected to be up for order online in the next month or two, with both figures likely to arrive in late 2017/early 2018. U.S. prices will probably be around $75-$80 per figure, as Kaiyodo doesn’t have a license to distribute domestically, so import shop prices apply.

What do you think of the next pair of Ame-Comic Revoltech figures to be shown off, Marvel collectors? Are you interested in owning the first Revoltech Avengers figure or the greatest X-Men villain of all?

  1. That Magneto’s cape is……not great.. Magneto himself looks fairly good.

But that Captain America…. Whoa damn. I may actually have to get that one.
Marvel NOW! is the best Captain America design, and this looks extremely good for a Revoltech figure.

  2. Beast is one of the best option and Black Panther. Remember as these are very articulated figures and releasing Spider-man and Wolverine are great as they tend to do those crazy poses and look good doing it. Magneto not so much, he is more like a Darth Vader pose kind of character. Captain America is acceptable, I can see him doing some of those type of poses.

  3. I would have preferred Avenger’s movie Captain America but this is also okay. I would like to see Beast and Black Panther. They are the type of heroes to articulate in crazy poses. Magneto is more like Darth Vader, stand up pose kind of superheroes.

  4. I would dare say that magneto figure is one of the best versions of him I’ve ever seen. Definatly one I would buy. And that version of cap is pure bad ass!

  5. Thats not energy effects on caps shield… I think those effects mean to be deflecting bullets…

      • “Energy effects piece” is easier to say than “ricocheting bullets effects piece”, and has the obvious benefit of covering other types of fire such as energy guns as well. You guys are too nitpicky. =P

    • Agreed. Real fighters have thick legs. Look at UFC fighters and Shaolin Monk legs. They are like tree trunks.

  6. I can’t wait for these. They look amazing, and Cap NEVER gets yelling heads, except for the SHF Age of Ultron figure, which is now very hard to find and too expensive.

  7. I’m waiting on characters that truly need that crazy Revoltech articulation. Spidey and Wolverine work in that format, I’m more interested in seeing guys like Nightcrawler who can realy use that level of engineering and movement.
