Hasbro tried to pull a fast one on fans at San Diego Comic Con 2014 on Thursday, when they pulled the Classic Hawkeye Marvel Legends Avengers Series 1 figure out of the display case after photos leaked with Hawkeye as part of the wave. But on Friday, Hasbro went ahead and laid a few more cards on the table (or figures in the display, as the case may be). Not only will Marvel Legends 2015 bring us the Marvel Legends Hawkeye variant we’ve been waiting for, but we’ll also be getting the long-lost Marvel Legends Iron Fist figure and the parts to make a King Thor Build-A-Figure!
Though Hasbro has only unveiled a handful of 2015 Marvel Legends figures at SDCC 2014, they’re already shown us not one, not two, not three, but four figures that were thought to be perhaps lost to us forever (plus a Thor retool no one really cares about)!
Not only will we finally be getting the Marvel Legends Sentry and Radioactive Man figures shown during San Diego Comic Con 2014 Preview Night and Day 1, but on Day 2 Hasbro proudly added the oft-requested Classic Hawkeye variant (originally scheduled for the Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon Build-A-Figure wave) and the white Iron Fist figure (originally scheduled for the Marvel Legends Hit Monkey series).
The Marvel Legends White Iron Fist figure’s body mold is unfortunately obsolete at this point, but the figure was designed a few years ago, so I guess it couldn’t be helped (well, it could–but Hasbro was never going to devote the resources to that). Even if he’s not perfect, I’ll still be excited to finally get a 6″ Marvel Legends Iron Fist figure in his white costume. And while I’m all about modern Hawkeye, I’m happy for the folks who’ve been pining away for this Marvel Legends Classic Hawkeye variant!
Also, while he hasn’t been displayed yet, I would be very surprised if Hasbro doesn’t show off and officially announce Marvel Legends Bulldozer before the end of SDCC 2014 (most likely at the Hasbro Marvel panel tonight). Stay tuned!
The 6″ Avengers Marvel Legends Infinite Series Wave 1 set is scheduled to be released in January/February 2015 (though I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see online retailers receive cases before the end of 2014). I’ll post an update here and to the Marvel Toy News Facebook page once
How do you like this trio of 2015 Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 1 six-inch figures, Marvel collectors? Will you be actively seeking out the parts to make the Marvel Legends King Thor Build-A-Figure, or are you satisfied with Marvel Legends Odin?
About fricking time we get the All-father! This line is like 10 years old now – maybe more and we finally get Odin. Now if we can just get Puma and Surtur.
This is a fantastic line-up, there’s something for everyone in this wave. Odin is an absolute must have, but he leaves us hurting even more for the Lady Sif, the Warriors Three and Heimdal (and speaking of Heimdal, movie vs. comic accurate, won’t that cause the PC/diversity arguments to heat up!) I mean, just imagine the day when the Thor section of your display is anchored by the All-Father front and center, awesome! Hasbro is on a serious roll right now!
if only Odin wasn’t a BAF. I really dont want to buy all 7 figures just to build Odin. There’s probably only 4 figures I want from this line. Thor, Sentry, Iron Fist, and Hawkeye. I’m not even sure if I want Hawkeye. frick.
