The most-anticipated day of the year for collecting news has finally arrived, and Mezco Toyz is kicking it off with a Hulk-sized, thunderous roar! While San Diego Comic Con 2017 preview night won’t begin for a few more hours, Mezco has already unleashed some major previews of what we’ll be seeing at the show–their first-ever MCU ONE:12 Collective Marvel movie figures of Thor Ragnarok Gladiator Hulk and Thor!

Up until now, every Mezco Marvel ONE:12 Collective figure that we’ve seen (no, a text-only announcement of Spider-Man Homecoming Spidey absolutely does not count) has been comic book-based.

But that trend has come to an end today, as Mezco Toyz has now revealed two MCU figures that they’ll be showing off in all their glory at SDCC 2017 Preview Night tonight: Gladiator Thor and Hulk from this fall’s Thor Ragnarok movie!

Gladiator Hulk is the huge reveal here, as we’ve never gotten an oversized ONE:12 Collective figure up until now. We only see him in photos by himself thus far with no one else to compare him to for scale, but I think we can be reasonably confident that this Mezco Gladiator Hulk is gonna be a big boy.

ONE:12 Collective Hulk doesn’t come with a whole ton of accessories–an alternate yelling head, an axe, a hammer, six interchangeable hands–but the size and beautiful attire for this figure are going to be the main attraction here. This is gonna be a hot seller for Mezco Toyz.

Of course, it would make little sense to produce Hulk and not his “friend from work”, the movie’s titular character: Thor.

This will be the first time that we see the God of Thunder in ONE:12 Collective figure form from Mezco, as there’s been no classic Thor figure put up for order to date. Obviously this version of Thor isn’t going to cut it for comic purist fans, so hopefully we see a true comic book Thor figure announced as well before too long.

While Thor will (obviously be smaller) thank Hulk, he’ll also come positively loaded with accessories: two swords, an alternate helmeted head with no face paint, interchangeable sheath and swords in sheath pieces, a gorgeously decorated shield, a mace, a lightning effect, six interchangeable hands, and a display base with posing pole.

The sculpting detail and paint deco on the Mezco Gladiator Thor action figure both looks absolutely outstanding. I’m a bit disappointed that Thor only has two heads with stoic expressions that display neither joy nor ferocity, I think this figure is a real winner and will offer a lot to collectors who want an upgrade from the Marvel Legends Gladiator Thor.

The ONE:12 Collective Thor Ragnarok figures should be up for order sometime this summer, and are expected to be released in 2018. I’ll post more concrete details and information as they’re revealed at the 2017 SDCC event that begins officially tonight. It’s unclear whether we’ll see any of the actual Spider-Man Homecoming figure at the show or if we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that reveal–stay tuned.
