The K-Mart website is one of my favorite sources for obtaining early images of new LEGO sets for my LEGO blog, so them posting new toy photos early (and often before they’re allowed to do so) is nothing new. What is a bit of a switch is that this time, they’ve gone ahead and posted the first official packaged images of the 2014 Captain America: The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends movie figures! We saw all three figures previously at SDCC 2013, but Hasbro has updated the figures and added a few unexpected surprises…
First up, we’ll take a look at the Marvel Legends Captain America Super Soldier movie figure. While I was anticipating purchasing the Marvel Select Captain America movie figure, I’ll be getting this one as well for the Mandroid leg. The level of detail on this Super Soldier Captain America figure is really strong, and I love the blue shield and alternate hands.
The only thing I don’t really get is that for some reason, Hasbro decided to pack in an extra head with Captain America that appears to be Duke from G.I. Joe. Personally, I’d have preferred a Chris Evan head sculpt, but that’s just me. [/sarcasm]
The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends Infinite Series has changed the most since we saw him at San Diego Comic Con 2013, in that now he’s primarily, well… brown. The iconic Winter Soldier costume is black or blue, and we haven’t seen a brown costume featured in the trailer for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie, so I’m not sure what this brown paint deco is all about. The bright red sniper rifle looks pretty silly, as does the dirty “mask” on his extra head.
I’m not entirely satisfied with the looks of this Winter Soldier figure, but I’ll be buying him regardless–I need his Mandroid leg, and Diamond Select Toys has confirmed they are not making a better Marvel Soldier Winter Soldier movie figure themselves.
Finally, we’ve got the good-looking Black Widow Marvel Legends Infinite Series figure. While Hasbro hasn’t captured Scarlet Johansson’s facial beauty at all, I love the costume, paint deco and alternate hands Black Widow comes with.
The best part, however, is that she includes an alternate head with her hair from The Avengers, enabling collectors to finally complete their Wal-Mart exclusive Marvel Legends Avengers movie figures from 2012! I’ll need to purchase this Marvel Legends Black Widow figure twice over for just that purpose. Nice work, Hasbro!
Currently we don’t have any official release date for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie action figures, but I would warn folks away from ordering these from the K-Mart website if they start listing them as in-stock–the K-Mart website has a well-known reputation for selling rare/early toys and then shipping people the wrong products.
I’ll post an update when online retailers open official pre-orders for these figures, and you can ‘Like’ Marvel Toy News on Facebook to have news, updates and photos sent straight over to your Facebook Newsfeed.
Now that you’ve seen these unexpectedly early super hi-res images, how do you like Hasbro’s attempt at Captain America The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends movie figures, Marvel fans? Are these the definite insta-buy for you that they are for me?
They look great. I want a Falcon figure though.
where do I buy it in India
when do you think they will be release ????
I’ll bet we see these start hitting stores before the end of February.
That’s awesome thanks man, hope I can buy them just about any where
I have seen the captain toy in store and some of the smaller, but not the black widow…
