Deadpool Marvel Legends Sauron Series Up for Order! Bishop!

June 2018 was one of the more expensive months ever for Marvel Legends collectors, with three full wave of Marvel Legends going up for sale including X-Men, Spider-Man and Venom series. But don’t take a deep breath and think you’re getting a break just yet, because Hasbro has more goodness lined up: the Deadpool Marvel Legends Sauron Series including Bishop, X-23 Wolverine, Omega Red and more is now up for order!

Marvel Legends Deadpool Wave 2 Sauron Series Case Ratios

There’s good news and bad news as far as this Marvel Legends Deadpool Sauron Series goes. Let’s start with the bad news: the case ratios.

While Hasbro has done outstanding job predicting what characters are going to be the most in-demand for most of the year, I think they may have wildly missed the mark with the assortment for this Deadpool Legends Wave 2 set, where the ratios are as follows:

  • (2) Deadpool in X-Men Costume with Madcap Head
  • (2) Lady Deadpool with Headpool
  • (1) Deadpool in Boxer Shorts and Fuzzy Slippers
  • (1) Bishop
  • (1) Omega Red
  • (1) X-23 Wolverine

Marvel Legends Deadpool in X-Men Costume Packaged with Madcap HeadI can see where Hasbro would think X-Men Costume Deadpool would be in high demand (what with Wade wearing a similar sort of costume in the Deadpool 2 movie), but I think that they may be seriously overestimating the demand for Lady Deadpool.

Marvel Legends Lady Deadpool Figure PackagedWhile the figure itself looks terrific (and you gotta love that Headpool), the notion that twice as many people will want Lady Deadpool as 90s characters like Bishop and Omega Red seems really, really iffy to me.

Marvel Legends X-23 Wolverine Figure PackagedBut wait—as I mentioned, there’s good news too! And that good news is that collectors need not worry about the case ratios this time out—because Hasbro is making individual figures available through online pre-orders right from the start!

Marvel Legends Sauron Build-A-Figure Official PhotoSo if you want to build the Sauron Build-A-Figure but don’t want a case with 2 Lady Deadpools and 2 X-Men Costume Deadpools in it, you’re not up crap creek this time! Individual Wolverine X-23, Bishop and all the rest are all available for order by their lonesomes—while they last—so you can put together a set without duplicates without having to go on the hunt at retail at all. Thanks, Hasbro!

Marvel Legends Sauron Series Deadpool in Boxers FigureWithout Toys R Us to carry these figures, online support for Hasbro action figures is going to become more and more crucial. I’m really pleased and excited to see Hasbro going out of their way to offer almost all of this summer’s new ML 6″ figures as individuals right from the pre-order stage. Mass retailers can have the case-packs of “popular” characters that they want, while collectors can get the more in-demand characters without pulling their hair out. Score.

Marvel Legends Omega Red Figure PackagedAnd speaking of the “in-demand” figures, I don’t think it’ll be a revelation that the “hot” figures from this wave are almost certain to be Omega Red, Bishop and Laura Kinney Wolverine. With so many characters that only have a tenuous connection to Wade Wilson, this is almost a bit of an extra X-Men Legends wave, honestly—and I think we’re all okay with that!

Marvel Legends Bishop Figure PackagedThe Deadpool Legends Sauron Series is now available for order in both cases and as individual figures, and is scheduled to ship out in July/August 2018. There’s a huge amount of new Hasbro ML product in the pipeline to hit shelves this summer, so it’s anybody’s guess how difficult this wave may or may not be to find in actual brick and mortar stores right away.

Now that it’s up for sale, have you made your final buying decision on this Marvel Legends Deadpool Series 2 yet? Will you be buying the whole set to complete the Sauron BAF, picking and choosing just your favorites, or passing over the second-ever Deadpool Legends Series altogether?

  1. Soooo do they want us to use that Madcap head on the X-men suit body or is it an accessory/prop for the kicking?

    • He can be used on the X-men body! It would be a huge lost opportunity is he was just a prop.

  2. I’m getting a set to build Sauron no matter how little I want half of this wave. Omega Red, X-23, and Bishop were all I really wanted, but Sauron is a must have even more than those three. It just screams out Byrne/Claremont/Austin story in the Savage Land.

  3. Good call on the numbers per case. Omega Red is already sold out as an individual figure. None of the others are at this time. They should have included 3 of him and 1 for the others.

  4. So they figure Lady DP and X-comedy DP are going to be more popular than X23 Wolverine, Bishop and Omega Red? No joke, I would love to know what metrics they used to make that decision.

  5. I have to agree with you on the numbers per case. I think any one of the other figures besides Lady Deadpool would have been better choice to pack 2 per case. My understanding (altho it could just be nonsense) is that Hasbro has a production cost limit for the case so maybe Lady Deadpool is cheaper to make, so perhaps double-packing her is what allowed them financially to incorporate some of the more detailed figs in the wave. I dunno

  6. I wish the Sauron head+torso BAF piece came with one of the two-per-case figures. At the very least someone who doesn’t want a 20th Deadpool figure can customize X-men Deadpool as Morph or Forge…

  7. I would guess that Bishop and Omega Red are going to be getting re-released in the “XMen Classic” series that is rumored for next year. Hmm….I wonder if they would do that series without a Wolverine?(Maybe a new Weapon X?)
