ORIGINAL 1/16/2015: Even though he’s only had a grand total of about a minute of screen time throughout all of the Marvel movies released to date, Thanos is poised to become the supreme villain of the Phase 3 MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). And as such, toy and collectible companies are readying themselves to cash in, with Hasbro, Funko and Hot Toys Thanos figures arriving in 2015. And now, the first exclusive version of the movie Mad Titan has been announced: the Glow-in-the-Dark Thanos Funko POP! Vinyls figure is now up for order!

I was pumped last month when Funko announced that a 6″ Super-Sized Funko Thanos POP Vinyl figure was in the pipeline as part of the second wave of Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyls figures. While that wave has some fan-favorite characters like Yondu and the Collector in it as well, Thanos is unquestionably the headliner of that wave.

So when it came time to pick out a character to release a variant figure of from the Funko 2015 GOTG series, Thanos was clearly the clear-cut best choice. And we’re not just getting any Thanos variant, we’re getting one of Funko’s most popular variant themes: Glow in the Dark! Seeing as how Thanos is a near-omnipotent powerhouse, it’s pretty cool that we’ll be getting a Thanos Funko figure whose skin literally glows with comic power!

The EE Exclusive Funko Thanos Glow-in-the-Dark POP! Vinyl figure is now available for order, and is scheduled to be released in March 2015. Entertainment Earth exclusive POP Vinyls almost always sell out completely while still in the pre-order stage, and Funko GITD Vinyls tend to be particularly popular, so absolutely place a pre-order for GITD Thanos soon if you want one.
