If there’s one word to describe Hot Toys’ stratagem with regards to their Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures, it would be “relentless”. After already putting three figures (for a total of $600+) up for order within a span of a week, they’re back just one week later with what’s sure to be the most iconic and desirable version of Captain America from the new movie opening today. The MMS 242 Hot Toys Captain America Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit figure is now available for pre-order!

Last week Sideshow Collectibles opened pre-orders for their Hot Toys Captain America Golden Age Edition exclusive 1/6 figure, which should out in a not-quite-record-breaking 12 hours.

Plenty of collectors missed that version of Captain America entirely, but they’ll have ample chance to get a different Hot Toys Captain America: The Winter Soldier figure of Cap this week, when pre-orders will open up for Captain America wearing his new SHIELD outfit from the movie, the Hot Toys Captain America Stealth STRIKE Suit figure!

In the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie, Steve Rogers will don the all-new Stealth S.T.R.I.K.E. costume for a large portion of the movie. As it’s so far removed from the previous Caps released and this is the costume seen throughout the majority of commercials and marketing promotional materials for the movie, this is Captain America Hot Toys figure that a large portion of collectors are likely to prefer from the movie.

The new soft goods stealth suit looks like it will give this Stealth Captain America 1/6th scale figure a great range of motion, as Hot Toys has released images of the MMS 242 Captain America figure in a variety of poses including running, kneeling, reaching behind his head and throwing his shield.

And the actual execution of the Stealth STRIKE suit looks excellent–this may be the most natural-looking Captain America costume that Hot Toys has designed yet.

A big selling-point of this Winter Soldier Hot Toys Stealth Captain America movie figure is the fact that it’s the only Hot Toys figure that will come with the cool, light blue Captain America shield. As with the other Hot Toys Captain America: The Winter Soldier shields, this blue shield will also be another die-cast metal Captain America shield. I’m a total mark for die-cast Hot Toys, and I can’t wait to catch ’em all!

Aside from the die-cast shield, this MMS 242 Stealth STRIKE Suit Captain America figure doesn’t include a whole lot of accessories. Aside from including nine hands, the only additional accessory (besides the blue shield) is a weird metal-like handcuff (yes, just one). I’m not sure what the context for this accessory is, but presumably the handcuff will be important in Captain America: The Winter Solder (or maybe not).

One thing about this figure that’s certain to disappoint a ton of folks is the fact that this Stealth Suit Captain America Hot Toys MMS242 will not include an unmasked Captain America Chris Evans 1/6 head. If you want to display this Captain America with the new Hot Toys Chris Evans head sculpt, you’ll have to purchase the exclusive Hot Toys Captain America & Steve Rogers set. I feel like this is a bit of a cheap move on Hot Toys’ part, and I’m not overly enamored with the fact that I have to buy a two-pack of figures to get one Chris Evans head.

The Hot Toys Stealth Suit Captain America 1/6 figure is now available for pre-order on the Sideshow Collectibles website. I expect the Hot Toys MMS 242 Captain America Stealth sixth scale figure to be available for far longer than the two-pack version with civilian Steve Rogers, but perhaps many folks won’t want Steve? I guess we’ll find out…
