But wait–there’s more! Hot Toys debuted the individual figures of MMS 252 Rocket Raccoon and MMS 253 Groot today, but they also made sure collectors would be aware that there was a special collectible bundle set of Rocket Raccoon & Groot on the way as well. You may ask: “Why would I want to order an expensive bundle when I can order Hot Toys Groot and Rocket individually at my leisure?” Well, the answer is simple: the Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Rocket Raccon & Groot MMS254 set will be coming with additional accessories you can’t get anywhere except in the set–and these are accessories you will definitely want!

Hot Toys sure knows the key to locking in collectors’ future money as soon as possible: exclusive, limited edition items! And so, along with the solo Hot Toys Groot and Rocket Raccoon figures, Hot Toys has also prepared a limited edition box set containing both Rocket Raccoon and Groot–with three exclusive bonus accessories that you won’t be able to get with the individual releases of the figures!

The bonus accessories included with the Hot Toys MMS254 set include an alternate screaming face for Hot Toys Groot and a pair of partially-clenched hands for Groot. The Rocket Hot Toys figure technically doesn’t come with any bonus accessories of his own, but you’ll get the thrill of posing Rocket Raccoon on the shoulder of a screaming Groot, which is a worthwhile exclusive feature in and of itself!

The Hong Kong MSRP on this Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccon/Groot set is 2200 HKD, which is about $280 US. Sideshow usually includes a fair bit of markup though for their American release of the figures, so we’ll likely see this set retail in the US for $320-$350.

Traditionally, Hot Toys exclusive bundle packs that include two figures otherwise available individually are a Sideshow Exclusive item in the United States. That’s how the Hot Toys Hulk & Bruce Banner set was released, that’s how the Hot Toys Chitauri Commander & Chitauri Foot Soldier was released, and I’d assume that’s how the Hot Toys Rocket & Groot set will be released.

We won’t have it officially confirmed if this Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys Groot and Rocket Raccoon set will be a Sideshow exclusive until it’s posted for sale, but my strong hunch is that it will be.

If you snoozed, you missed out on the Hot Toys Chitauri Commander & Soldier set with exclusive accessories that went on sale last year–that set sold out several months before it even began shipping.

I expect this Hot Toys Groot & Rocket Raccoon set to sell out well before the individual figures do as well, so if you’re intent on having the screaming Groot head (and who isn’t?!), be sure to place an order before the set sells out.
