Even though the first wave of the Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series 4″ figures is just starting to hit stores in the last week, the long-wanted Wasp figure is already burning up the aftermarket and selling for $30+. But fear not, Marvel Universe-scale fans! Help is on the way in the form of a case assortment that at least I think is pretty decent, which brings us two Janet Van Dyne Wasp figures–as well as two of everybody else–per case…
Thankfully, Hasbro has seen the error of their ways (in this instance). The Marvel Infinite Series 1 Revision 1 case assortment has been confirmed, and the case is set to include an even split of two each of the Wasp, Grim Reaper, Hyperion, Iron Man, Captain America and Indestructible Hulk figures.
I was really psyched when I heard this case assortment, though Marvel Toy News’ Facebook fans seem far less enticed than I was. While I totally understand why folks are concerned about the Marvel Infinite Series Captain America and Heroic Age Iron Man repacks haunting shelves for the entire year, I’m going to be cautiously optimistic.
With most stores having dispatched their awful Iron Man 3 Assemblers figures already and the Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4″ figures being mediocre, I think there may actually be enough kids and moms out there to buy up the Caps and Iron Men (at least for a little while).
Also, even-packing the figures in an assortment tends to be very healthy for online retailers, as they can then sell fairly-priced complete sets of figures without getting stuck with a ton of remnants no one wants to buy. It’s a win-win for everyone (just as long as Hasbro is smart enough to stop shipping Captain America and Iron Man repacks after Series 2).
The Marvel Infinite Series Wave 1 Revision 1 cases are scheduled to be released this spring. Once that happens, Wasp should be far easier to find at retail and online prices on her should justifiably plummet.
Are you pleased with the even-packed case ratios in the Marvel Universe 2014/Marvel Infinite Series Revision 1 case, Marvel collectors? Or are you confident that the plentiful Captain America and Iron Man figures will clog shelves for months and months to come?
Is it possible Hasbro has finally removed their heads from their asses? ‘Bout time, way to go !!!
It doesn’t matter! I live in northeast Georgia, and these will never hit our shelves. Marvel is even hard to find in Atlanta. I’m glad some of you are enjoying finding these though!
Oh,no! Say it ain’t so! Say it ain’t so,joe! I’m lookin out for ’em right down here in Orlando! You sayin’ they Not in Hotlanta!? WhutDwhut! “When the East is in the house!” It’s the Dirty South” lol
Yeah, yeah,so far,so good. Congrats to Hasbro for using common sense.
Now, whacha gon’ do about unreleased legends variants and this hydra/aim drought situation?
Got the full set from HTS this morning.
Hts?
They should be evenly packing all waves of all lines. I just paid $50 for a black widow legends figure. And when i remember that I need 2 of them… ugh!
I still can’t find her anywhere!!! I’ve found all the other figures from this wave multiple times, but not even a glimpse of wasp. I don’t wanna pay $35 but I might have to if I want to add her to my collection.
Why not just wait. It’s not like she’s isn’t going to be repacked in another case or isn’t going to be available on Hasbro’s site anymore.
I only found wasp one per case. I got lucky and arrived at a local store just as the case was opened. Wasp is mine 🙂 only one wasp was in the case and the owner looked and said this can’t be right. Three iron men and I still have 2 marvel universe iron men on the pegs. The rest you will have to use your imagination on his iron man over stock displeasure with hasbro. I bought a Hyperion and grim reaper as well. I told him the next waves will be better and hope they will order them and not think all sets will be like this. I am not sure if the later cases will be two wasps I can only hope. Thanks 🙂
