Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 Figures Announced & Case Ratios!

Even though many collectors have yet to see a single Marvel Infinite Series 1 figure on shelves (not one of my local stores have even stocked them yet), but Hasbro is going full steam ahead with the Marvel Universe 2014 successor line of figures! Hasbro gave us a glimpse at Marvel Infinite Series 3 figures at the 2014 Toy Fair in February, but today Hasbro allowed pre-orders for Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 to open, revealing fantastic case ratios and some unreleased figures we thought might be lost forever…

Marvel Infinite Series 3 Ares Figure Hasbro 2014

At the 2014 New York Toy Fair, Hasbro previewed three figures that were supposedly for Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3: Ares, Deathlok and a translucent Wonder Man (Ionic Form).

Ionic Wonder Man has apparently been bumped to a future series (or, knowing Hasbro, dropped altogether and will never be seen again), but there’s four previously unannounced figures filling out Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series 3–and they’re good ones!

Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 Deathlok Figure Hasbro 2014Each case of Marvel Infinite Series 3 will include the following figures:
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Ares Figure
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Ant-Man Figure
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Omega Red Figure
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Cyclops Figure
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Deathlok
(2) Marvel Infinite Series Valkyrie

Avengers Infinite Series 3So the previously unknown figures making up the case assortment will be a reissue of the 2013 Marvel Universe Omega Red figure, as well as (presumably) the unreleased Marvel Universe Valkyrie, Cyclops and Ant-Man figures. A lot of Marvel collectors have been crying out for Valkyrie for years, so they will no doubt be thrilled to see her finally getting her due as a mass-release action figure!

Marvel Infinite Series Valkyrie Figure Hasbro 2014 Wave 3Fans will likewise be ecstatic to finally get their hands on the previously-cancelled Marvel Universe Antman figure! The one known Marvel Universe Ant-Man Comic Pack was sold online for $200 back in 2012, but I bet today that same pack would have raked in far more–at least, if this new Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 Ant-Man hadn’t been announced!

Unreleased Marvel Universe Ant Man Moon Knight Comic Pack FiguresFinally, the Cyclops figure mentioned here is likely from the cancelled Marvel Universe Astonishing X-Men team pack set that was also going to include Emma Frost and Colossus as the Juggernaut. With Cyclops being released individually, could we see Emma Frost and Juggernaut Colossus in a future wave? I somehow doubt it, but I’ll hope for the best anyway.

Hasbro Marvel Universe Astonishing X-Men Team PackMarvel Infinite Series Wave 3 is now available for pre-order both as sets of figures and whole cases, with an expected release date of June 2014.

What do you think of the even-packed case of Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 action figures, Marvel fans? Is this the sort of case-pack you’ve been dreaming of, or are you bummed to see a bunch of “old” figures finally seeing the light of day instead of something newly-designed?

Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 Figures Announced & Case Ratios! — 12 Comments

  1. This is the most exiting thing from marvel that hasbro has giving us yet IMO. I have been dreaming of that antman figure, I mean wow!, what a surprise that is. I could care less about the valkerie but I am still exited about this case more than I have been in a long, long time. Way to go hasbro for finally getting these figures out to us, I am exited for this one!

  2. Now if they could just get bishop to us and maybe some more jim lee x men like; storm and beast. I do believe in my heart of hearts that Emma Frost is going to be part of the SDCC exclusive if it is not released down the line as a single. I also believe that all the legends figures like agent venom and those that were shown last year are going to be the legends sdcc exclusive.

  3. I’ve been really itching for an Ant-Man figure, so I’m very excited about this revelation! However, I was looking forward to the Ionic Wonder Man (both because of its awesome transparent purple look and because I missed the Quicksilver/Wonder Man comic pack) and am disappointed that it has been pushed back/cancelled. It is a great opportunity to snag an Omega Red that’s going for $40+ on Amazon. Overall, pleased with the case ratios and the gorgeous figures! Now if they’ll finally release a Marvel Infinite Series Vision…

  4. Man,this is Magnificent”Marvelous”toy News! Valkrie will be one figure closer to my Lady Liberators team. Hey,Dabid where do you live? My Targets here in Florida are already starting peg warming Caps and Ironmen Marvel Infinite! So,you know finding the Wasp is difficult. Which is why I preorder at my local comic shop and bbts as a safety net from scoring so many goose eggs on my hunts. Lol~

    • I live north of Boston. Sometimes we get new stuff astonishingly fast, and sometimes we’re left behind in the stone ages for goodies…!

  5. This is the best assortment yet!! If Ant-Man made it to be released, then I have faith Hasbro will also release Emma & Wonderman. The big question is, where’s Northstar?

  6. I wish they would release Emma Frost and Northstar already. We don’t need another version of Cyclops.

  7. I truly believe that all of those unreleased figures will be getting released. If they can get any man out then trust that the rest will find their way.

  8. Some really nice surprises here! I’m really happy about AntMan and Valkyrie. It goes to show that we can’t really count out any unreleased figure. I have so many Cyclopses but this one looks like a nice upgrade so no complaints here about him. Now I’m hopeful for Sasquatch that figure among others.

The even pack out is a huge step forward, IMHO. Uneven pack outs lead to old stock lying around. There will always be less and more popular figures but it doesn’t seem like Hasbro knows which will be which and seem to poorly gauge the one per case quota. Even pack outs may result in fewer, less popular figures clogging up pegs.

  9. the preview magazine talks of Platinum versions of Hyperon, Wasp and Reaper. I hope these are different costumes

    • “Platinum” is just a weird code word Hasbro put in front of the Wasp, Grim Reaper and Hyperion figures in the solicitation text. The figures have always been “Platinum” versions–there won’t be any repaints at this time.
