Hasbro has been pretty stingy regarding specific release details for the upcoming 3.75″ Marvel Infinite Series waves this year, leading a lot of collectors to wonder if something is up with the line. But it appears that things are back on track following the summer deluge of Marvel Legends and Avengers: Age of Ultron series figures, as the 2015 Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 figures are finally up for order! And not only are there six new figures up for order, but three of them are ones collectors have been waiting for literally for years: Northstar, Juggernaut Colossus and Emma Frost!
Yeah? Well, if so, you can finally stop holding your breath and rejoice: all three of those long-lost Marvel Universe 4″ figures (plus three other new figures!) are finally scheduled for release, and will be coming our way as part of Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series 2015 Wave 3 in just a few short weeks!
And sure to delight longtime fans of this scale is the fact that five of the six figures in this series (sorry, Chameleon!) will be using old tooling from the Marvel Universe 3.75″ figures–meaning that super-articulated 3 3/4″ Marvel figures are back (at least, for now)!
I’ve been very turned-off by the reduced articulation on this year’s new molds for the 4″ Infinite Series, so I’m definitely psyched to be getting five new figures that utilize the old super-articulation scheme that made the Hasbro Marvel Universe toy line so beloved.
The 2015 Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 Case Ratios are as follows:
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Deadpool (Blue X-Men Uniform) Figure
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Emma Frost Figure
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Colossus Juggernaut Figure (Jugolossus)
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Northstar Figure
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Chameleon Figure
- (2) Marvel Infinite Series Korg Figure
An assortment of six new figures with two of each figure in a case and no repacks of old figures no one wants…? Sounds good to me! Way to, Hasbro! Unlike the Marvel Legends Emma Frost figure released in 2013, with two Emma Frosts in each mass-release case at retail, there may actually be enough Emmas to go around this time!
Northstar is another character who has the potential to warm the shelves, but I really, truly hope that he does not. Chameleon should sell fine, seeing as how he comes with an extra Norman Osborn head (as well as a weird Chameleon/Spider-Man mash-up head, which I doubt will fool anyone).
All of the Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3 (2015) figures are now available for pre-order as a complete set and individually, and are expected to be released in September 2015 (that’s next month!). Given that this wave is composed entirely of characters that are either hotly in-demand or all-new to the Marvel Universe Infinite Series line, I expect that this is going to be another tough-to-grab series in stores. If you’ve been pining away for Emma or Northstar for the last two years, now’s your chance to finally lock down your own!
Now that they’re finally up for order, are you planning on acquiring any (or all!) of this year’s third Marvel Infinite Series 4″ figures for your collections, Marvel fans? And on the subject of this series, I know a lot of collectors (like me!) still haven’t seen any sign of Wave 2 at retail–have you?
Thanks Hasbro ! These little figures come with more accessories then the $20+ Marvel Legends Series !
Dabid,
Do you think Hasbro will ever do a NON-BAF Marvel Legends Series again ?
Developing Build-A-Figures and releasing BAF pieces with each figure in a wave is expensive, so yes–I think Hasbro will drop Build-A-Figures altogether down the line. Probably not in 2016, though.
Dabid, the wave is COMPLETE reuse. Yes, even the Chameleon, capt!
That’s the Professor Charles Xavier body without the vest and tie of course.?LOL!haha!
Yep, and they also cost almost as much as the legends to.
Finally! I am really excited for Emma and Northstar! Now I can start wishing for Polaris, Dazzler, Forge and some New Mutant figures.
It’s about damn time, jeez!
Wait, no Gold Ultron? I really wanted that figure. But the rest I am surely picking up to keep this line alive.
I like the mid transformation Chameleon head. Looking to get him, Emma and Korg.
Nice.
I’m excited for Emma and Colossus but they’re already sold out at BBT.
Is hasbro ever going to make a kingpin or vision action figure
I mean, they’ve released a comic-based Vision Legends figure this year, plus a Titan Hero, a Masher, a 4″ movie figure, and a 4″ comics figure coming next year. That covers most of the Vision bases, right?
Kingpin… we’ll see.
I’m happy that I have Northstar in my collection now.
