Marvel Legends Wolverine Motorcycle Set Up for Order!

What, three full waves of new Marvel Legends figures going up for pre-order in two weeks still isn’t enough for you?! Well, Hasbro certainly hopes not, because they also solicited one more new figure box set this week! First shown at New York Toy Fair 2018 back in February, the 6” X-Men Marvel Legends Wolverine Motorcycle set is now up for order! If anyone’s motorcycle is going to come close to being as cool as Ghost Rider’s (because it’s sort of the same motorcycle), it’s Logan’s!

Marvel Legends Wolverine Motorcycle Set Packaged Box

There were so, so many new Marvel action figures on display at the 2018 Toy Fair that I sort of forgot about some of them. The 3.75” GamerVerse figures were among those I forgot were in the pipeline (though I’m dying for that Ryu—“Hadouken!!”), and another is the third and final of this year’s known Ultimate Riders sets: Wolverine.

Whereas the Black Widow set gave us a racing motorcycle and the Ghost Rider set gave us a, uh… flaming Spirit of Vengeance Hell-cycle, this Marvel Legends Wolverine Motorcycle set gives us what I imagine would be called a traditional Harley Davidson-styled motorcycle if I knew anything about motorcycles (which I do not).

X-Men Marvel Legends Wolverine 6 Inch Figure and Motorcycle SetBasically, this is the Ghost Rider Motorcycle repainted without the fire effects pieces added on all over it, and with some newly-tooled saddlebags added to the sides on the rear of the bike. And that’s okay: When I picture a motorcycle in my brain, I envision them looking like Logan’s motorcycle here, as I suspect many other collectors do as well. This is a good addition to the line that makes excellent use of existing tooling.

The Wolverine figure packed-in with the cycle is also very nice–it features painted on arm hair, interchangeable hands with and without claws, a sculpted tank top upper torso mold, and a lower torso with jeans with a nice texture on them.

Close-Up of Marvel Legends Patch Wolverine Figure

While we’ve actually gotten a decent number of new Hasbro Marvel Legends Wolverine figures in the last half-decade, one thing we haven’t gotten is a new Logan figure outside of his costume—at least, not until this set.  Wolverine is probably the single most recognizable Marvel character when outside of his costume, so it’s worthwhile to get him back into rotation in his civilian attire of jeans and a white tank top.

And hey, we can even kill two birds with one stone, as we get a Wolverine Patch head (with eyepatch, obviously) to recreate Logan’s rarely merchandised undercover identity. Maybe the body mold here isn’t quite ideal for Patch, but I’d rather have the head to kitbash with than not get it at all!

Marvel Legends Wolverine Figure on Motorcycle with Patch HeadThe Wolverine Marvel Legends Motorcycle set is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in late July/early August 2018. The case assortment this ships in comes with one Black Widow and no Ghost Rider in the case, so if you’ve been dilly-dallying on picking up the Ghost Rider motorcycle, you might wanna grab one before they’re all gone.

Anyone out there psyched for Wolverine’s classic-styled motorcycle? Will you be picking up this third entry in the Marvel Legends Legendary Riders series, or are the two previously-released motorcycles (or less) enough for you? And with the release of this third set, are there any other motorcycles (or other small vehicles) you’d like to see added to this series?

  1. Disappointed this ships with Black Widow and not a new set. Would love a new classic Hawkeye with Sky-cycle, or even a Spider-Man with Spider-cycle.

I’m assuming they don’t have many plans to continue this line, but as a sequel I’d love to see a Pets series with sets like Ka-Zar & Zabu, and Crystal & Lockjaw.

    • A pets line would be awesome, but if they wouldn’t do that, a large Lockjaw build a figure would be cool too. A wave that has Crystal, Quicksilver, and a couple of FF villains maybe. Blastaar, Annihilus, and Doom. Maybe She-Hulk FF figure and Wyatt Wingfoot. An FF line that doesn’t have to have the main FF featured. Unless they come up with a proper Human Torch that looks more like the classic version.

    • Probably cuz no one wanted to buy Black Widow lol. They could have done the iconic Captain America cycle. Or the Moon Knight cycle. Or the Punisher cycle of the 90s.

  2. what is it with Hasbro and that weird swollenly cartoonish Logan head sculpt? All I want is a nice unmasked Wolvie head in a Jim Lee, Adam Kubert or even 90s animated style. I can’t even put my finger on an art era they’re trying to emulate.

    Rant over.
