Marvel Legends Jean Grey Cyclops Wolverine 3 Pack Packaged

Anyone who’s ever said that Hasbro doesn’t listen to the fans may have to eat the words tonight, because the two rarest and most expensive on the secondary market Jim Lee X-Men team members are making a comeback in an easy-to-order exclusive 3-Pack: updated versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops–and for good measure–Wolverine!

This is the first Wolverine that Hasbro has ever done with bone claws, plus we get a 90s animated-style ponytail head for Jean and several alternate glasses-wearing Cyclops heads. Win-win-win all-around!

Marvel Legends X-Men 3 Pack Jean Grey Cyclops WolverineThe Jim Lee X-Men completing Jean Grey 3-Pack wasn’t the only X-related exclusive multipack to go up for sale tonight, though! At long last, Marvel Legends Strong Guy is coming in 2020! But to build your accurate Peter David 90s X-Factor roster, you’re going to need this exclusive two-pack as well: X-Factor Havok & Polaris!

And don’t worry, Wolfsbane fans–we’ll be getting the parts necessary to build Wolfsbane with the Walgreens Exclusive Dani Moonstar figure coming up this fall!

Marvel Legends Giant Man Build-A-Figure Reissue Packaged

For those who missed out on the Civil War Giant Man Build-A-Figure two years ago…? You’ve got another chance! Giant Man BAF is back with a new and improved paint job with a real metallic sheen on the armor this time around! I know some folks don’t like seeing BAFs reissued and are gonna be miffed, but, well… them’s the breaks!

Marvel Legends Exclusive Uncanny X-Force Deathlok FigureX-Force gets its own exclusive addition to the roster in the form of the Uncanny X-Force Deathlok figure! This has been rumored for a while now and gives Hasbro a chance to reuse some of the unique tooling from the Deathlok mold, so I’ve got no problem with this… but I think retailers may end up having a problem moving this figure unless it’s been made in much lower quantities than the other exclusives. I’m not at all convinced that this is going to be a big seller.

Marvel Legends X-Force Deathlok Figure PackagedThe Deathlok X-Force repaint is a straight-up repaint that’s not terribly exciting to me, personally, but it’s always nice to build a roster. Perhaps we’ll see a mass release of X-Force Psylocke one day for those who missed the SDCC version…?

Marvel Legends 80 Years Camo Punisher with Skull Face PackagedThe last of the five new exclusives to go up for order tonight is an 80th Anniversary Marvel Legends Punisher figure. Punisher is a big deal part of the franchise, so I’m glad to see him represented in the 80 Years series in some fashion.

Exclusive Marvel Legends Punisher 80th Anniversary FigurePunisher in his modern camo “costume” with the ever-popular skull facepaint and comes with a sniper rifle, pistol, machine gun and interchangeable bandana-wearing head. This iteration of the Punisher isn’t my cup of tea, but I know it’s wildly popular based off the reaction to the Sideshow 1/4 statue of this version of the character.

All of these exclusives are now up for order online and are scheduled to arrive in October-December 2019 (Q4 2019). I don’t want to speak too soon, but I believe that these will be the last of the Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary figures that we see announced. If that’s the case, what do you think, collectors? Has Hasbro completely blown these theme out of the ballpark, or do you think there are still characters missing that should have been represented in honor of the 80th Anniversary?

SDCC 2019 Marvel Legends Jean Grey! Cyclops! X-Factor! Up for PO! — 26 Comments

  1. Awesome presentation. Excited for Jean, Polaris and Havok. Wish Moonstar wasn’t a Walgreens Exclusive but I hope I can get at least 3. Now I just wonder when we will get Sunspot and if we will get heads/hands to make Magma & Skids. And they are going to Put Shang-Chi in the Spider-Man wave??? I like Shang-Chi, but I NEED Firestar in that wave lol

    • I generally would assume that this is it, but I heard a rumor there might somehow be MORE new items up for pre-order tomorrow night. At this point, I can’t imagine what’s left that that could be, though…!

  2. Of course they release Jean Grey unannounced after I shelled out $80 for the previous version (Rocket BAF) on ebay a few month ago. Granted, I don’t need another Cyclops or Wolverine, but I could have gotten this version for half the price loose on Dorkside. I’m glad at least the older version is of pretty good quality, even next to the newer version.

    • I definitely NEED that Giant-Man figure as I missed out on it before and it will be a very important part to my collection. Do you know if GameStop or any physical stores will be getting that figure too?

  3. I’m excited to hear about the Dani figure, but I hope she’s in a form that I recognize from the 80’s. Um… nothing else here strikes my fance at all. I’d be down for the 3 pack if I didn’t already have 4 Wolverines and 2 Cyclopes. The Jean Grey is for people who like comics and cartoons from the 90’s (*EXTREME COMICS!*), so that’s not for me. I got my Phoenix figures, so I’m done with Jean unless they give me a nice Marvel Girl version with the little skirt and yellow mask. The Havok and Polaris figures are also the characters in a form I don’t recognize. I only read X-factor when it was the original X-men in disguise, and because I only read X-force for the first few issues when they sprang from the pages of New Mutants, I didn’t even know Deathlock ever appeared there. Strong Guy is one of the dumbest looking characters I’ve ever seen – don’t even want to know what the figure looks like. Punisher looks great, but I have him already. Not gonna double up on figures unless there’s a BAF involved.

    • The Havok and Polaris is from the “second” X-Factor team series written by Peter David that started in 1991. The first X-factor team (original X-men pretending to be mutant hunters) went back to the X-men (blue and gold team) titles after one of those X-title crossovers. I quit all X-men titles around 92. I think this Deathlok is from this decade’s X-Force (gray costumes)

    • Yeah but you gotta like the reveals of Classic Doom, Classic Vulture, and Shang-Chi, right?

  4. I can not with this 3 pack!!! Jean looks AMAZING! Absolute perfection!
I have not collected any (Logan) Wolverine figures and am not about to shell out crazy amounts of money for a Cyclops. That being said, these boys look exactly how I want them to look. I will say though that Wolverine’s unmasked head still looks kinda off putting and his ¿ripped mask head? looks like a factory error…at least there is a 3rd head that looks great.
The others on here, comfortable pass. They look great, but I don’t feel any attachment or want to buy them.
When it comes to this Dani figure, I really really hope that she is packaged in her full Valkyrie attire that can be removed, revealing that she is in her New Mutants look underneath. (I absolutely love both looks so I’d appreciate not having to choose or get one and decide I actually wish I had the other.)

    • Oop. Nevermind. Just saw the Dani figure. No Valkyrie armor. It’s gonna be INSANE trying to find her if everyone buys 3 to use each head.

  5. I was hoping for more Alpha Flight figures (since Guardian is being released) and I always wished they would release more Inhumans. VERY grateful for the new Jean Grey and the fact shes estimated to be released this December.

    • I’m guessing they will reveal a new Alpha Flight figure at the Canadian con that Hasbro is attending. Probably one of the unrevealed figure from either next spring’s Age of Apocalypse wave or Fall 2020’s Deadpool themed wave (with BAF Strong Guy). Who would be your top choice for next Alpha Flight character??

They had a whole list of cons around the world that Hasbro was going to have a presence at, usually that means at least 1 reveal at each, often one that’s somehow germane to the country its held in.

      • Northstar, Aurora, and Puck would be my next 3 choices, I’d like to get a team going with them. That Sasquatch BAF was great, the first BAF I ever bought from eBay. I hope youre right and more 2020 reveals pop up. X-Men figures are HOT and we’ll probably see more of them.

  6. Not a fan of 90’s x-men so probably won’t be picking up these sets but no denying they are GREAT looking figures.

For me the best reveals were Classic Doom, Classic Vulture, Shang-Chi and the cosmic Ghostrider set.

I do like how Punisher and Deathlok look. Based on how heavily the last Deathlok was discounted, i won’t rush out to buy this one. I will likely try and grab that Punisher at some point.

  7. I wonder what the purpose of posting comments and questions here is if nobody interacts and nobody answers the questions

    • Generally other readers do answer questions and respond, but stuff like “will there ever be another Baron Strucker or Madam Hydra” nobody knows the answer to, unfortunately.

      • That question was of course directed to the insiders (like the creator of this website ?) …. On the other hand, my first question (in another/separate message here) was about the upcoming “camo” Punisher with the skull painted on his face. Is that version a villain version of Punisher ? (I am not familiar with all of the Punisher storylines and/or saga).

        • The War Skull Facepaint is from the modern era of Punisher comics. Sideshow and Funko have done Punisher before with this look. I don’t read those comics myself, but I believe Punisher is just a vigilante in them rather than a full-on villain.

  8. Jean is an improvement over that mushy faced one.

I wish Hasbro would stop trying to do unmasked Wolverine and just copy the head from the Astonishing X-Men one. That sculpt was beautiful. Most old 5 inch Wolverines could also beat the head sculpts of the current ones.

Now we’re missing Wolfsbane in an X-Factor costume and that team will be complete. You can use the big-headed Quicksilver from Amazon in that roster since they sometimes colored in his black fruit of the looms.

  9. There are still two more unannounced 80th products: Punisher War Machine and some sort of variant Iron Man.

  10. So I don’t know much about 90s X-Men did Cyclops wear that jacket a lot?

    • ALOT? No not really..but he did wear it as well as appearing in it in the cartoon series.
