Prepare yourselves well for what is a true shocker, Marvel collectors. The end times may truly be upon us. The portent of this impending doom…? Hasbro is actually going to be releasing some of their notorious-for-never-coming-out Marvel Legends variant figures. Ebay listings have turned up for the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Boomerang, Toxin and Spider-Girl figures, confirming that these figures are in fact currently in production and should be released in a few months time…

Hong Kong scrappers to the rescue! Though we Marvel collectors had plenty of reservations as to whether or not the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends variant figures would actually see a release, well-known Hong Kong scrapper uswrestlers has obtained the three running change figures (Marvel Legends Toxin, Spider-Girl and Boomerang) and popped them up for sale online.

While scrapped goods being scooped up and sold online is never good news for Hasbro, this is good news for Marvel Legends collectors. Once scrapped figures have turned up for sale online, that’s official confirmation that the figures have been tooled and put into production at the factory. Now we can just sit back, relax, and wait for our Amazing Spider-Man Marvel Legends Spider-Girl (Anya Corazon) figure and her pals to make their way into official case assortments.

The K-Mart website leaked hi-res photos of the Skyline Sirens Spider-Girl and Deadliest Foes Boomerang Marvel Legends figures in their packaging over the weekend, but as we all know, packaged photos don’t mean a whole lot (or else we’d have those Marvel Legends Blade and Dani Moonstar figures right now). Scrapped figures, though? Those are as good as gold.

There has never been an instance of Marvel Legends figures being uncovered by Hong Kong scrappers and then the figures not being released at retail, so there’s no reason to think that this time will be any different.

Now, far be it from me to ever not advocate for buying toys, but please bear in mind that the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends variants figures seen in these ebay auctions are not officially-released Hasbro product. These are scrappers that have likely been stolen from the factory and sold without permission by Hasbro (in other words, they’re almost certainly illegal). I love the ebay seller uswrestlers for consistently posting photos of figures early, but I would never buy his figures myself. Your mileage may vary.

Now that we have the next best thing to confirmation that Hasbro will actually be releasing the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Toxin, Boomerang and Spider-Girl figures–are you excited for these characters, Marvel fans?
