Fans have known for well over a year that the new Spider-Man: No Way Out movie would be arriving at the end of 2021, and that made it a given that a tie-in series of Spider-Man Marvel Legends No Way Out figures would be hitting stores around that time as well. Collectors had sky-high hopes for things like new Alfred Molina Doc Ock and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Legends figures, but, well—what actually came to fruition is a little different: the Marvel Legends Spider-Man No Way Out Armadillo Series is now up for order!

2021 has been a weird year for the Marvel Legends Prop Replicas (or life-size “premium role-play items”, as Hasbro calls them officially) lineup. We got the excellent Marvel Legends Eye of Agamotto, but also the wildly-colored and totally bizarre bright cyan Captain America Stealth Shield. I wasn’t sure if we’d see any more entries this year, but looks like Hasbro had one more in the works, and it’s a good one: the Avengers Endgame Marvel Legends Iron Spider helmet is now up for order! Most of these ML life-size helmets have been pure win, and this looks like no exception…

San Diego Comic Con 2021 at Home is going on now, but it’s been rather quiet news-wise for figures nonetheless. Hasbro dropped loads of new Marvel Legends figures (and a $400 World-Devourer) earlier in the month, and Hot Toys had their big week of premieres last week. Luckily for statue fans, Diamond Select Toys (and Sideshow Collectibles) have some goodies to show off (and sell). One of the companies I haven’t talked about here on Marvel Toy News in a long time is XM Studios, who make some of the finest Marvel 1/4 statues in all the land. Since XM doesn’t have a US distribution license for their Marvel statues, they are generally immensely expensive to procure domestically. Even so, I want to get back to diversifying and talking about every option out there—and this is a good time to do so, because the XM Studios Rhino statue is now up for order! Earlier today, Hasbro officially announced the return of Hasbro PulseCon for 2021! As Hasbro PulseCon is a virtual convention focused on bringing fans online exclusive figures and web-based panels, it seemed like a no-brainer that we’d be seeing an exclusive Marvel Legends figure (or figures) announced sooner than later. But Hasbro really wasted no time, as just a couple hours after announcing the con itself, the Hasbro PulseCon 2021 Exclusive Marvel Legends Venom Retro Series figure has now been revealed!

It’s been nearly a half-decade since Hasbro released their SDCC 2016 Exclusive Sandman (Sand Form) figure and the subsequent Build-A-Figure version, and while both of those were pretty fantastic action figures, they are becoming quite expensive and difficult to hunt down on the aftermarket at this point. But a supervillain as cool and prominent as William Baker will not be denied a spot in newer collectors’ homes: a new Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Sandman figure is now up for order! Is this 2021 Sandman a worthy addition to the collections of new and old fans alike?

And so, it wasn’t a completely stunning development today when a GameStop Exclusive Marvel Legends Miles Morales Camouflage figure went up for order. But what did turn out to be pretty unexpected was that this isn’t a repaint at all–it’s an all-new, never-before-seen GamerVerse Miles Morales figure mold! Presumably we’ll get a regular painted iteration of this Miles Morales Spider-Man down the road, but for now, let’s have a look at the pretty clear blue version!

Over the years, Hasbro has released many of the biggest and baddest villains in the Marvel Universe as Build-A-Figures. From Thanos and Rhino to Sauron and Apocalypse, we’ve gotten iconic villain after villain in BAF form. And now… we have a Marvel Legends Stilt-Man Build-A-Figure that can be assembled by buying the first Marvel Legends 2021 Spider-Man Series. I never expected we’d see a toy of this character beyond a Minimates figure, but here he is. This is likely to be the only 6” Stilt-Man action figure ever made. Is it a great one?

After getting a classic comics-based Prowler Legends figure in Lizard Build-A-Figure Series in 2018, I wasn’t really sure I needed an Uncle Aaron Prowler Version from the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse animated film. Hasbro displayed some pretty rad figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 last February (right before they world ground to a halt), and one of the surprise figures that most captured my eyes was the Venomized Miles Morales Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Series figure. I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?

I really, really miss events and conventions. Not heading to New York City for NYCC last month, not doing SDCC coverage, and knowing there won’t be a NY Toy Fair in February is a real bummer. But I have to admit—Hasbro has upped their social media game substantially, bringing us a record number of digital reveals this year! And today, we Hasbro revealed and opened pre-orders for the full Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 Stilt-Man series! And believe it or not, the Stilt-Man BAF isn’t the craziest thing in this wave: the Fabulous Frog-Man is legit on the way!
