Yesterday, news leaked out regarding the previously-unknown lineup of Marvel Minimates Wave 55, the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Minimates movie series. It’s rather appropriate that that news came out on Veteran’s Day, but some collectors were upset with the revealed lineup and a glaring omission from it. Those fans may be in luck, however, as it turns out that the rumored Marvel Minimates Winter Soldier lineup circulating is apparently incorrect…

UPDATE 11/13/2013: Diamond Select Toys has now confirmed the configuration of the Marvel Minimates Captain America: The Winter Soldier Wave 55 series to be as follows:

• Stealth Uniform Captain America with Crossbones
• Final Battle Captain America with Winter Soldier
• Black Widow with Falcon
• Agent Sitwell with Batroc

It looks like the rumored list was actually very close, just not quite correct.

ORIGINAL STORY: A rumored list of Captain America Winter Soldier Minimates figures started making the rounds yesterday, composed of the following lineup:

• Stealth Uniform Captain America vs Crossbones
• Final Battle Captain America vs Winter Soldier
• Black Widow vs Agent Sitwell
• Falcon vs Batroc

Response to the rumored lineup was generally positive (particularly for the first-ever Marvel Minimates Falcon and Batroc figures), though some fans were dismayed that a Robert Redford “Alexander Pierce” Minimate figure was not included in the wave. This will be another Marvel movie that Toys R Us does not get a complementary set of Marvel Minimates for, so the eight figures in the specialty store two-packs will be the only Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie Minimates figures that get released.

However, DSTZach, the Diamond Select Toys Marketing Supervisor, had this to say about the supposed lineup on the Minimate Multiverse forums: “That line-up is not exactly correct… I will try to get correct info out there soon.” So it seems that the Marvel Minimates Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures lineup will not be exactly what we’ve heard thus far (and hope remains for Robert Redford fans).

The Captain America Winter Soldier Minimates series of movie figures is now available for order with a pre-order discount (though we still don’t know the confirmed character lineup for the series). The set is scheduled to be released in Q1 2014. I’ll post an update once Diamond Select Toys clarifies what the actual lineup of figures for the movie going to be.
