Marvel Select The Falcon Winter Soldier Figure Photos – Toy Fair 2014

We’ve known for months now that Diamond Select Toys has a pair of Marvel Select Captain America The Winter Soldier figures scheduled to come out this spring. We’ve previously seen an image of the Marvel Select Stealth Captain America released online, and this week’s American International Toy Fair 2014 was the first chance to see Cap in person. But Stealth Cap didn’t come alone–at the New York 2014 this week, we also got to see the Marvel Select Falcon figure fly in for his grand debut!

Toy Fair 2014 Marvel Select The Falcon Figure

Though he’s heavily-featured in the full trailer for this spring’s Captain America The Winter Soldier movie (opening April 4, 2014), Sam Wilson–The Falcon–ended up being the odd man out for Hasbro’s 6″ Marvel Legends Captain America The Winter Soldier action figure line. The only figures Hasbro has scheduled to release for the movie are the Marvel Legends Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Stealth Captain America figures that have just been sighted in stores.

Luckily, not every toy manufacturer has chosen to pass on the character that I hope will be one of the highlights of Captain America 2, and Diamond Select Toys will be releasing their own 7″ Marvel Select Falcon figure this spring.

New York Toy Fair 2014 Captain America The Winter Soldier The Falcon Marvel Select FigureThe wingspan on the Marvel Select The Falcon 7″ figure is absolutely humongous! Obviously the wings do need to be this long to stay on-model, but lower-end figure companies like Hasbro would have probably cut corners on the Falcon Winter Soldier figure so as to keep development and production costs down. If only one action figure company (other than Hot Toys) was going to release a Captain America: The Winter Soldier Falcon movie figure, I’m glad that it’s Diamond Select!

The Falcon Marvel Select Captain America The Winter Soldier Figure Close-UpDST has opted to go with having The Falcon’s goggles permanently molded onto his head for this Marvel Select action figure. I would have liked a change-o-head alternate head so that we could have Falcon without the glasses as well, but this figure was probably far too expensive already to add any more accessories besides the large wings and display base that are included.

Even without an extra head, this Marvel Select Falcon is still an excellent-looking action figure, and certainly one that I’m looking forward to adding to my collection a few months from now.

Stealth Captain America Marvel Select Action FigureThe Winter Soldier Marvel Select Stealth Suit Captain America figure was also on display at the 2014 Toy Fair, although he’s definitely not as impressive as his counterpart. The sculpting on Captain America’s costume looks terrific, but that head–ugh. With that vacant stare in his eyes, Cap looks a little bit high, to be blunt (yes, that pun is intentional).

Marvel Select The Winter Soldier Captain America FigureModern Marvel Select action figures almost never fail to impress me these days, so hopefully the paint on the final production version of the Marvel Select Captain America Stealth action figure will make poor Cap look a bit more dignified and heroic.

Marvel Select Falcon The Winter Soldier Action FigureThe Marvel Select The Falcon and Stealth Captain America figures are scheduled to be released in May 2014 and are now available for order online. Diamond Select Toys has confirmed via their Facebook page that the entire run of both figures is already pre-sold out at the manufacturer level, so make sure to jump on a pre-order for these figures soon if you want either of them.

Now that we’ve seen the Marvel Select Captain America The Winter Soldier figures up close and personal, are you impressed, Marvel collectors? Will you be adding these movie figures (or at least just The Falcon) to your Marvel movie figure collections this spring?

  1. Does this Captain not come with a shield? Did they not show it? Is it the red white and blue shield or the stealth one with out the red in it?

    • It comes with the red, white and blue shield. At least, that’s what they showed in the catalog they had at the show.

  2. YES,I am impressed. I will be adding “just the Falcon.”
I DID PRE-ORDER THE FALCON FIGURE. I ordered a while back when it was first posted. It’s too magnificent to pass up! Thank you for initially stating in your post the obvious elephant-in-the-room,so to speak of Mr.Wilson’s exclusion from the Hml:Infinite series! Ah! Wtf? Ok, I Am a glass is half-full type guy. I know how to be happy with what I can get or Not get in this instance.
However, here on The last day of Black History month I feel compelled to inquire as to:WHAT was Hasbro/Marvel thinking leaving THE 1st Black-American superhero out of the highly popular Marvel Legends toy line?!
IMHO the 1st wave should have included a comic legends Falcon figure(he’s sinfully in need of an update.), and movie legends figure in the second wave. Yes? Yes,Capt! COPY That! Roger that!
I don’t usually collect MS. They’re too big, unless we’re talking Thing,Thanos,Hulk,Juggernaut, etc.
I will have to display Falcon separately?or maybe Xmas tree angel style? lol
I Do have 2 non-giant-monster 7″Ms scale -normal human-size figures Falcon could sit with; Classic Storm (in the 1st appearance outfit Legends refuses to make) and movie WarMachine!
    Thank you Marvel Select! OK,
Hasbro, get the lead out!! Storm needs a Legends update, release her and the Rogue figure we were promised. “Days of Future Past” Movie Legends perhaps? Hmm?
    Infinite wishes. Peace.
