Spider-Man Far From Home is now less than a week away from hitting theaters, so the time is right to discuss the final Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of Phase 3 (and 2019)! Rather than going the predictable route and kicking things off with Mysterio, instead I want to review a figure that’s gotten a bum rap up until now. The Marvel Legends Molten Man Build-A-Figure is selling surprisingly low on eBay as far as ML BAFs go, but is he high-quality enough to melt my cold heart in-hand?

I generally try to practice what I preach with regards to placing pre-orders for limited edition items early before they sell out and explode price-wise on the aftermarket, but sometimes I get careless (or is it lazy?). Such was the case with the first character released in the Iron Studios Avengers Endgame 1:10 Statue line, who quickly sold out worldwide and is sharply escalating in value. I ended up paying 150 bucks shipped for my Iron Studios Nebula Statue on eBay… was she worth the inflated price I had to pay to secure one at all?

When Diamond Select Toys released Carnage back in 2015, he was instantaneously sold out pretty much across the entire internet. After years of selling for double MSRP or more online, the DST Marvel Select Carnage figure is finally back up for order! 4 years and a couple Hasbro Carnages later, will this symbiote be as popular today as it was way back when?

But one iteration I’ve managed to avoid owning (even in Funko Pop form!) is his original “origin” look. …At least, until now! I needed the last piece to build the Caliban Build-A-Figure, so I had to order the new Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Weapon X figure. But to my humongous surprise—I’m actually glad I had to buy this Wolverine…

While this is another stacked series, the 2019 X-Men Legends Build-A-Figure is a little… less… demanded than the majority of the wave. The Marvel Legends Caliban BAF can already be found for around just 50 bucks online… but is he comparatively cheap because he’s bad, or just in low demand…?
Continue Reading →Just as I had resigned myself to having to wait until July for my X-Men Marvel Legends 2019 figures I ordered online arriving, I got a shipping confirmation for Beast! Turns out Amazon is shipping the figures as they get cases in, regardless of their stated “release date”. Looks like I’ll be waiting a bit for the rest of the Caliban series to arrive, but since Mrs. McCoy’s baby boy has bounced in, I’d be remiss if I didn’t review Beast ASAP…
Continue Reading →With five days until the Avengers Endgame movie hits theaters, I’m continuing on with my look at the first wave of 2019 Marvel Legends Avengers series figures! Last time, I reviewed an obscure character in Citizen V who Hasbro pretty much perfectly in toy form. Going back to the obscurity well, today I’m going to review the Avengers Endgame Legends Living Laser figure collectors will need to buy in order to build Armored Thanos. ML Living Laser certainly looks unique—but is he actually a good toy?
Continue Reading →“Justice, Like Lightning…!” If those words don’t mean anything to you, then you’re probably in the majority of collectors who are scratching their heads at this release from the first wave of Avengers Legends 2010 figures. Whether you know him or not, you’ll need to buy the Marvel Legends Citizen V figure if you want his Armored Thanos Build-A-Figure piece—but is the original Thunderbolts leader a worthwhile figure in its own right?
Continue Reading →The first two Avengers Endgame Marvel Legends figures that I previously reviewed—Ronin and the Armored Thanos Build-A-Figure—were both overall solid figures with a few faults holding them back. But the third and final ML Endgame figure in this Wave is one I’ve had to gather up the motivation to review at all. Hasbro is hoping that we’ll all buy multiples of the Marvel Legends Endgame Captain America figure—but is this a figure that collects will want to own any of?
Continue Reading →While the Armored Thanos Series is technically the first Avengers Endgame Marvel Legends wave of Hasbro action figures, there’s not a whole lot going on so far as characters actually from the movie go. In fact, there’s just two single-packed figures from Endgame in the wave: Captain America and the subject of today’s review. Hawkeye’s absence was keenly felt in Infinity War, but now he’s back with an all-new persona: should you add the Marvel Legends Ronin figure to your collection? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →Just when it looked like Kingpin was going to slaughter the competition for most-demanded Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure of 2019, Hasbro went and announced—and released!—a figure this week that fans have been asking for ever since Infinity War! You’ll have to pick up six figures from the Avengers Legends 2019 Wave 1 series to build him, so he won’t be cheap (in fact, he’s selling for about 100 bucks alone on the aftermarket!)—is the Marvel Legends Endgame Thanos figure worth all of the hype and expense it’ll take to acquire him?
Continue Reading →Since I went with the crowd favorite and reviewed the new Marvel Legends Kingpin figure during the week, I thought I’d mix things up for my next review and feature a character that’s a little… less… famous. He’s a character never-before-made as an action figure (though Hasbro did release a PVC years ago), who will most likely be purchased primarily by collectors for the Kingpin’s torso: the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Puma figure is now in-stock online for retail price!
Continue Reading →When I asked readers on social media which of the figures in the first 2019 Marvel Legends Spider-Man wave they wanted to see first, it was really just a formality. The de facto winner was always going to be the Build-A-Figure—and in a landslide, he was. The Marvel Legends Kingpin BAF is selling for over 100 bucks now on the aftermarket—almost as much as the six figures you have to buy for all his parts! Does the Kingpin live up to his enormous hype?
Continue Reading →It took a wee bit longer than the other two early Marvel Legends 2019 series (Black Panther and Captain Marvel) to arrive, but the case of 2019 Spider-Man Legends Kingpin Series Figures I ordered online is here at last! I’ll go through and review each and every figure from the wave in-depth with lots of hi-res photos in the coming weeks, but to help tide readers over, here’s some initial impressions and unboxing photographs of the Marvel Legends Kingpin Build-A-Figure and more…
Continue Reading →When the Black Panther movie hit theaters and became an even bigger hit than anyone expected, it gave Hasbro the confidence that a second wave of Marvel Legends Black Panther movie figures with more secondary characters could be viable at retail. And so, a year after the first wave, the Black Panther Legends M’Baku Series is hitting stores! The Marvel Legends M’Baku figure himself is selling for $60 online—is it worth buying the set or paying inflated prices just to get him?
