With no more major toy conventions in 2018 and the Black Panther Legends M’Baku Series at least a month away from shipping out (and very possibly being held for a January 1st, 2019 release date), we’re likely going to be going through a bit of a Marvel Legends news dry spell once again for the rest of the year. Which means it’s time to dig into the big cache of unreviewed figures once again! Last time, I talked about one of the best Build-A-Figures ever in Sauron, and this time, let’s look at one of the Deadpool Wave 2 figures you need to buy to build him: Marvel Legends Bishop!

Last weekend was a good one for Marvel Legends fans, with six new figures debuting at two different cons! And it’s not over yet, with a few more 2019 figures to be officially revealed at Lucca Comics & Games convention this week! But while we wait, it’s time for me to dig back into my deep cache of this year’s Hasbro figures that I haven’t reviewed yet, and today I’m reviewing one of the biggest (literally and metaphorically speaking) figures of the year: the Marvel Legends Sauron Build-A-Figure is selling for $60+ on the aftermarket–is he worth it?
Continue Reading →New York Comic Con 2018 is less than a week away, and as usual, the anticipated pre-NYCC Marvel toy news lull is upon us. But while we wait to see new offerings revealed by Hasbro, Kotobukiya, Diamond Select and more next week, it’s the perfect time for me to dig back into my cache of Marvel Legends figures needing a review. And this time, it’s a figure guaranteed to be one of this year’s most popular figures: Venom Marvel Legends Carnage may be two per case and fairly easy to order online for MSRP , but he may actually (rightfully) be the fastest seller in the Venom series!
Continue Reading →Having talked about some of the coolest Symbiote figures Hasbro has ever done over the last two weeks, it’s only fair that today I turn my attention to the one figure in the Marvel Legends Venom Series that’s a big letdown for me: sadly, Venom himself. We last got a single-carded Venom figure back in 2016 as part of the Spider-Man Absorbing Man Series. Does this newly-released ML Venom figure bring anything valuable to the table for those who have the previous version…?
Continue Reading →I’m at the halfway point in my series of Venom Legends reviews, so I think it’s time I spotlighted the character more people requested a review of than any other in the wave: the Marvel Legends Monster Venom Build-A-Figure! The Monster Venom BAF is burning up the aftermarket and selling for about 75 bucks alone right now–is Hasbro’s bulkiest symbiote action figure ever worth the big money that collectors are paying for it?
Continue Reading →I was pleasantly surprised earlier this week, when I reviewed an action figure that turned out to be near-perfect for a character I wasn’t especially familiar with: Venom Legends Poison. Wanting to see if lightning might strike twice, I decided to focus my next review on another character I wasn’t exactly giddy over being in this wave. The Marvel Legends Scream figure that’s now available for order is the first female Symbiote figure that Hasbro has ever done, so she’s automatically the best—but is she good?
Continue Reading →When I asked readers on social media what recently-released Hasbro Marvel Legends figures I should prioritize reviewing first, I was pretty stunned to see a multitude of votes for the Venom Legends Poison figure. Having never read even one panel with the character before, I rushed to buy the Venomverse TPB so I wouldn’t be writing blind. Now that I’m thoroughly acquainted with both the character and the Marvel Legends Poison figure that’s now available, what’s the verdict? Read on…
Continue Reading →When I cracked open three cases of new Marvel Legends waves all at once today, I was rather overwhelmed and unsure of where to start with reviews. Well… almost unsure where to start, anyway! Because the character whose inclusion puts the biggest smile on my face of any new ML figure this year is in this wave, and there was no way I could pass up doing his review first. Kicking off my Venom Legends reviews is a figure I never thought would be done: Marvel Legends Spider-Ham is now available!
Continue Reading →Toys R Us’s quick and catastrophic collapse earlier this year through the entire toy industry for a loop, and also left a slew of Toys R Us exclusives stuck in distribution limbo. One such exclusive is the subject of today’s review: a three-pack that managed to hit TRU stores in some regions, but left others (like mine) barren. But online retailers have come to the rescue, bringing us once-lost exclusives such as this Marvel Legends Infinity War Groot, Thor and Rocket Raccoon set I got from Entertainment Earth…
Continue Reading →It’s a real testament to the strength of the 2018 X-Men Legends series that a new 6” Psylocke figure can be mass-released for the first time EVER by Hasbro, and rather than being the headliner of the wave, she’s just one of several most-wanted figures from the Apocalypse Series. After being absent from retail lineups for a decade (since her Toybiz figure), a new Marvel Legends Psylocke Figure is finally available! Is this the definitive Jim Lee Betsy Braddock?
Continue Reading →Continuing along in my week of reviews completing the 2018 Marvel Legends X-Men Apocalypse series, we come to the fifth 6” Wolverine figure that Hasbro has released in the last two years. While some people might be burning out on ol’ Logan just a hair at this point, I imagine this latest version is one that very few X-Men fans will be able to pass up: the 2018 Tiger Stripe Wolverine X-Men Legends figure is now available! Is this the definitive version of this costumed Wolverine that fans have been waiting for?
Continue Reading →It seems like hardly a week goes by when there’s not some new high-end Marvel Statue to talk about that costs a half a grand (or more!). But fear not, collectors who love statues but don’t love spending exorbitant amounts of cash on them: Diamond Select Toys has you covered with their reasonably-priced resin and PVC statue lines. And their latest release just might be their best one to-date: the 16” Marvel Premier Collection Cable Statue is finally beginning to ship out!
Continue Reading →We’re in the middle of another Marvel toy news drought, which makes this weekend the ideal time to knock out the final entries in my series of 2018 X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse Series reviews. And at this point, it’s time to talk about the figure that seemed like the inevitable shelf-warmer from the moment it was released. X-Men Legends Gladiator seemed destined to be a slow-selling repaint—is there more to him than meets the eye?
Continue Reading →While the building of the 1990s X-Men roster has been pretty blatant throughout the first three series of X-Men Legends, what many fans may not have noticed is that, slowly but surely, we’ve been getting one character from Peter David’s X-Factor per wave as well. With Havok and Polaris out of the way, I think Hasbro made the right choice for the Apocalypse Series entry. Full cases of Madrox are on the way for army-building ease: is the Marvel Legends Multiple Man worth army-building?
Continue Reading →It’s a quiet day on the news front, which makes it the perfect time to dip back into my big bag of unreviewed action figures. So today, I’m continuing onward with a look at another figure in the X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse Series. The X-Men Marvel Legends Magneto figure was one of the most-anticipated figures when he was first announced, but does he live up to expectations now that he’s been released and is available for ordering? Here’s my ML Magneto review…
