Harry Osborn is my favorite character in any iteration of Spider-Man, but I had my reservations about Dane DeHaan playing Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man 2. As things turned out, however, Dane DeHaan’s performance as Harry Osborn was one of the brightest spots of that movie (not that that was all that difficult). And while I gagged at some of the illogical and irredeemable actions Harry perpetrated at the end of the movie as the Green Goblin, I’ve been wanting a Hasbro action figure of him anyway. And coming in July 2014, the first Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin figure will arrive!

I was not the biggest fan of the role that the Green Goblin/Harry Osborn was shoehorned into at the end of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, as I feel it slots Harry firmly into the nonredeemable category and greatly damages the character. That said, I loved the Dane DeHaan Harry Osborn portrayal right up until his eye-rollingly bad transformation into the Green Goblin.

While the two versions of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Minimates Green Goblin figure are sort of fun, I’ve been itching to add a larger Dane DeHaan Green Goblin figure to my collection. Hot Toys hasn’t given any indication that they’re planning a Hot Toys Green Goblin, nor has Hasbro mentioned the possibility of a 6″ Marvel Legends Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin figure.

Thus, it looks like the 4″ Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Strike Air Raid Green Goblin figure is the one and only option for me and other Green Goblin Dane DeHaan fans. Unfortunately, this Hasbro Air Raid Green Goblin 4″ figure is pretty, well… bad.  The resemblance to Dane DeHaan is zero, and Hasbro really cheaped out by not including any deco on Air Raid Green Goblin’s head to show off his gross-looking transformed face.

I’m probably going to buy this 4″ Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin Hasbro action figure anyway, just because I really want a figure of Harry Osborn from this movie… but man, this Hasbro Spider-Strike line is really, really awful.

The Air Raid Green Goblin Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure is scheduled to be released in July 2014 and will be packed at two-per-case in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Strike Wave 3 cases. This Spider-Strike Wave 3 is up for pre-order now if you feel inclined to order it (which may be a worthwhile idea, as I have serious doubts about how many retailers are actually going to order the third wave of these figures for their stores at all).

Am I the only person out there crazy enough to want this 4″ Green Goblin figure? Is anyone besides me thinking about picking up an Air Raid Green Goblin (or anything else from Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Strike Series 3, for that matter)?
