Despite having limited sceen-time and little action in this year’s Iron Man 3 movie, the Iron Patriot is beyond any shadow of a doubt the breakout character from that film. But as much Iron Patriot merchandise as we’ve seen this year, it’s 2014 that will truly be the year of the Iron Patriot. Despite a huge surplus of Iron Patriot collectibles already scheduled for 2014, Sideshow Collectibles has just announced one more exquisite high-end Iron Patriot item–the Sideshow Iron Patriot Quarter Scale Maquette is now up for order!!

The cache of Iron Man 3 Iron Patriot high-end collectibles coming out in 2014 looks like a veritable treasure trove at this point. Some of the most high-profile Iron Patriot merch on-track for 2014 includes the Play Imaginative Iron Patriot Super Alloy 1/4 and 1/12 figures, the Hot Toys Iron Patriot Movie Masterpiece Die-Cast Sixth Scale Figure, the Hot Toys Iron Patriot bust, the Sideshow Iron Patriot Life-Size Bust, the Iron Patriot life-size figure, and the just-announced Gentle Giant Iron Patriot 1/4 scale statue.

Despite all those amazing Iron Patriot collectibles coming up in 2014, Sideshow still sees a potential market to tap, and have thus revealed their terrific-looking Sideshow Iron Patriot Quarter Scale Maquette!

I’m honestly feeling completely burned-out by the monumental wave of Iron Patriot products coming up in 2014, but I think this 1/4 Scale Iron Patriot Maquette may end up taking the cake as this single nicest one (that doesn’t cost $10,000 like the Iron Patriot Life-Size figure). The quarter-scale Iron Patriot Sideshow statue has been designed and developed by Legacy Effects–the same people who designed the actual armor for the actual Iron Man 3 movie. You don’t get much more authentic than that!

The Sideshow Iron Patriot Quarter-Scale Maquette will feature all the light-up features that you’d expect on a high-end piece like this, but what I’m really looking forward to seeing is the swap-out extra Don Cheadle portrait head. With a terrific pose and impressive paints apps, this Iron Patriot Sideshow Maquette easily blows the Iron Patriot Gentle Giant statue (shown below) out of the water.

I have the Iron Patriot Hot Toys figure on pre-order already, but I’m really wondering if I’ll be able to resist ordering the gorgeous Sideshow Iron Patriot maquette as well (and I’m not even a huge Iron Patriot fan!). Hopefully this is the last major Iron Patriot item solicited for a while, though–I think with this maquette market will be well and truly saturated.

The Sideshow Collectibles Iron Patriot 1/4 Scale Maquette is now available for order on the Sideshow Collectibles website! The maquette is priced at a competitive $399.99, and is scheduled to be released in December 2014. With plenty of time until this piece is released, now might be a good time to opt for Sideshow FLEXPay payments on this maquette to spread out the costs.
