LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Spaceship Rescue Photo!

LEGO has been trying their absolute best to keep the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets under wraps and images of the sets off the Internet. And their efforts have paid off–LEGO came very, very close to making it to this weekend’s New York Toy Fair 2014 without photos of any of the sets leaking out. But with just a few days until the NYTF rolls around, the very first photo of the LEGO Guardians of The Galaxy The Milano Ship Rescue 76021 set has snuck out…

Even though photographing the LEGO GOTG sets that were shown at the 2014 Nuremeberg Toy Fair was forbidden, I had my suspicions that someone would manage to slyly snap a photo or two. It took longer than I expected, but the first sneakily-taken LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy set photo has made it’s way online–the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Ship Rescue.

This is a pretty small, low-quality image, but we can definitely make out some details of the set from it. First (and most obviously), the set includes a larger spaceship and a smaller ship. I’ve seen a few people that are assuming that the title of this set means that the GOTG ship is named “The Milano”. I don’t think that actually true–I have a feeling that the Milano is the spaceship that the Guardians are rescuing in this set and not the ship they’re flying around in.

On the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy minifigures front, 76021 LEGO The Milano Ship Rescue looks like it will contain four minifigures. We can see the LEGO Gamora minifigure piloting the ship, as well as a helmeted LEGO Starlord minifigure flying in front of the ship and firing some sort of box. The black figure with helmet and hammer on the box is clearly a LEGO Ronan minifigure, and I believe the set will also include a LEGO Drax minifigure.

LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Spaceship Rescue 76021I’m not feeling terribly enamored with this LEGO 76021 set based off this early photo, as the larger LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy ship looks rather peculiar (at least, what we can see of it does). The Starlord LEGO minifigure also looks strange with his hairpiece and helmet combo, but I’m hoping that he’ll look better once we can see the detailed printing on the figure in high detail. I’ll update when better images and information on the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets are available, and you can ‘Like’ Marvel Toy News on Facebook to have news and photos sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!

Obviously this is only a teaser photo of what we hope hi-res photography will be allowed for at the 2014 New York Toy Fair, but what do you think of this first glimpse at the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO sets, Marvel collectors? Does the LEGO 76021 Milano Ship Rescue look promising to you, or just not up your alley?
