Marvel Legends Civil War Spider-Man Figure Up for Order!

With today being the most holy day of the year for Star Wars fandom, I never expected Hasbro to make an earth-shakingly huge Marvel announcement! But it had to happen some time, and I guess it might as well happen on the eve of the Captain America Civil War movie’s release: the first Civil War Spider-Man figure from any company has now been announced–the Marvel Legends Civil War Spider-Man 3-Pack!

UPDATE 5/5: The 6″ Marvel Legends Spider-Man 3-Pack is now up for order while supplies last! Go get ’em!

Captain America Civil War Marvel Legends Spider-Man Three-Pack Hi-Res

I figured if there was any night that it was safe to log off the internet and go play Dungeons & Dragons (I’m a chaotic-neutral hobbit Rogue, FYI) without missing any Marvel Toy News, it was the night of May the 4th.

But it turns out that I was wrong in a big way! After months of fans demanding it, for the first time from any merchandiser, an MCU Spider-Man figure was finally revealed!

Going up for sale on the Hasbro Toy Shop website on August 1st 2016, it’s the Captain America Civil War Marvel Legends Three-Pack: with 6″ figures of Battle-Damaged Captain America, Battle-Damaged Iron Man… and Civil War Spider-Man!

Marvel Legends Battle Damaged Iron Man and Captain America Civil War FiguresThis special three-pack of figures looks to feature rehashed versions of the Civil War Iron Man Mark 46 and Captain America figures with some not-very-convincing “battle-damage” deco on them.

Hasbro Civil War Battle Damaged Iron Man Marvel Legends FigureUnlike the single-packed versions of Iron Man Mark 46 and Cap, this set will include unmasked Tony Stark and Steve Rogers head sculpts (although these sure aren’t Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. head sculpts), as well as a new pair of blue effects pieces I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen before with any Hasbro action figures.

Marvel Legends Battle Damaged Captain America Shield Civil WarThat said, I do think the battle-damaged Captain America shield and heavily-damaged Iron Man helmet do looks pretty slick. In fact, I think I might like this worn-out shield more than I like any of the actual figures in this set, quite frankly.

Marvel Legends Civil War Spider-Man Figure with Captain America ShieldBut let’s get real here: there’s exactly one reason 99% of collectors will be beating down the doors to get this set when it hits, and that’s the first Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man figure ever available from any company. Although, to be totally truthful, I’m not blown away by the authenticity of this figure.

Civil War Spider-Man Marvel Legends 6 Inch Figure

While it certainly looks more like the MCU Spider-Man costume than any previous Marvel Legends Spider-Man 6″ figure released, neither the front nor the back of the costume look accurate to what we’ve seen of Spidey thus far in the trailers for Civil War. This feels eerily like Hasbro rushing to get a “movie Spider-Man” figure to market.

According to the video posted this evening, there may be early opportunities to purchase this Civil War Marvel Legends Three-Pack before it goes live on Hasbro Toy Shop on August 1st, 2016. I’ll update with more news here and on the Marvel Toy News Facebook and Twitter Pages once more specific release information for this set is made available.

Marvel Legends Civil War Three Pack Spider-Man PackagedUPDATE 5/5: EE has now placed this Captain America Civil War 3-Pack Up for Order! They’re also guaranteeing that their orders for this set will be fulfilled before any HasbroToyShop orders placed on August 1st. If it’s unknown if or when other retail stores will be carrying this pack, so if you want to be guaranteed a Marvel Legends 6″ Movie Spider-Man figure, you might want to place an order with EE now before they sell out…

Based off of our first look at the product samples in this low-res video, what are your thoughts on this Captain America Civil War Marvel Legends 3-Pack, Marvel collectors? Are you buying this pack just for Spider-Man, or are you impressed with the Battle Damaged Iron Man and Captain America as well? Or do you have a different perspective entirely and are not planning to pick up this set at all?

  1. I’m happy we’re getting a Civil War Spidey figure, but I would’ve preferred a single carded release.

  2. If these are from hasbro why are the pics so crappy? Is this a leak?

    • Because Hasbro streamed a low-res video revealing the figures. They’re a toy company, not a video production company. =P

  3. It looks like Spidey’s webs are engraved, which I hate. It also looks like only his head and hands are new sculpts, so you could just take last year’s Amazing Spidey and paint the black stripes on him. At least that way your figure would have alternate hands.

  4. I just noticed the Jessica Jones poster. I wonder if that is a Jessica Jones wave tease.

    • Somehow I doubt we’re getting an entire Jessica Jones wave, but maybe we’ll get some 3-packs, or a Marvel TV-themed wave, hopefully with some comic figures like Luke Cage. That’d be cool.

How can you tell? These photos are absolutely abysmal.

It’s funny because I’d been considering making battle damaged versions of Cap and Iron Man when the Giant Man wave ended up pegwarming (and you KNOW Steve and Tony are gonna pegwarm like crazy) but hey, now I can do that with these!

What’s that? These are already “battle damaged”? Well, Hasbro has yet to learn that unless you are absolutely meticulous about it, doing battle damage exclusively with paint never, EVER works. I’m perfectly okay with that though, because I actually really enjoy customizing figures, and can’t wait to take my dremel to Tony to take some big ol’ scrapes out of his armor, then cover Steve’s face with bruises and blood and crap. (I’m mean.)

Although that shield looks fantastic, and I wanted to give Steve’s shield some Black Panther scratches, so maybe I’ll do that with another shield. Who knows.

Also, the likenesses on the alternate heads seem to be… passable. Cap’s is the same as the TWS/AoU sculpt, which is close enough, but Tony’s looks new, and you’d think that given all the Iron Mans we’ve gotten over the years, that’d come standard by now and we’d be SWIMMING in alternate Tony Stark heads, but this one looks decent so I ain’t complaining.

  6. If the unmasked head sculpts actually looked like Evans and RDJ, I’d be all for this set. Spidey is my only interest for now. This seemed like a great opportunity for MCU Vision and a regular sized CW Ant-Man with alternate Paul Rudd sculpt.

  7. I wonder if there’s the slightest chance they’ll release the Spider-Man by it’s self later down the road. I don’t want to spend $60 just to get one figure.

    • The new Spider-Man movie is out next year. They’ll probably do a solo release then.

    • I mean, I went through and spent a lot of time jumping through frames one-by-one to make sure I picked out the best frames to screenshot from the low-res video that Marvel posted. So to answer your question: Yes, I could have taken much worse photos. =P

      • LOL. Sorry, I didn’t realize the situation when I posted that comment.

  8. Am I the only one who is excited for the Ironman & Captain America’s unmasked heads??? lol. They won me over with this feature. Can’t wait to get the set.

  9. I’d be a lot more excited if that Spidey costume actually looked like the MCU Spider-Man. I’ll wait for this thing to price drop, and if it doesn’t I’ll just skip it, even as a huge Spider-Man fan I don’t think this pack is worth that price.
