Hasbro gave collectors a heads up before November began that last month was going to be a slow month for Marvel Legends news, and now we can look back in hindsight and agree that they were true to their word. But there was a singular light in the darkness, as the sole figure announced last month is a character neither Hasbro nor Toybiz has ever captured in toy form before: the X-Men Marvel Legends 2024 series will include Shi’ar Empress Lilandra Neramani!

As we march toward the new year and the impending arrival of 2024 Marvel Legends figures, I want to backtrack and finish my in-progress reviews of a couple of this year’s waves. And first up, we’ve got the penultimate figure review in the Hasbro 6” X-Men ‘97 Marvel Legends Series: Storm! Ororo has received a multitude of new action figures in recent years—will this one add anything fresh to your collection?
Continue Reading →When Hasbro released their first 6” Marvel Legends Rogue figure in her 90s Jim Lee costume back in 2017, it was a pretty big deal and a hole-filler for many X-Men collectors. Flash-forward 6+ years, and we’ve had multiple X-Men Legends Rogue figures since. Even so, X-Men ‘97 is on the horizon, and that means that every old X-Man is new again for some incoming fans—and Hasbro is ready to service those fans with new and/or upgraded figures! Does the now-available X-Men 97 Rogue Legends figure bring enough to the table to warrant a purchase? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →To the astonishment of many (including me), the HasLab Giant-Man rocketed past finding in its final day and even unlocked the Zombie Head Stretch goal, as the campaign numbers nearly doubled in the last 48 hours. But now that Marvel Legends collectors have a two foot tall figure to look forward to receiving in the future, let’s jump back to the present and review a new figure of a character -from- the future! The X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Bishop figure is now available—is this version of the X-Men’s time-traveling powerhouse worth picking up?
Continue Reading →Fresh off their usual big-time showing at New York Comic-Con 2023, Diamond Select Toys is back at it again with a bevy of new pre-orders! There’s products from a wide range of products as always (including a sweet Thrawn 1:2 scale bust!), but 4 items in particular for Marvel collectors to get excited about—Marvel Select Archangel, Marvel Gallery Silver Surfer, Marvel Animated Ghist Rider and a Legends in 3D Cyclops bust are all up for pre-orders now!
Continue Reading →It may be rather hard to believe given the iconic nature and massive popularity of the character, but Hasbro has never individually released a non-exclusive standard 616 Magneto Marvel Legends 6” figure… until now! Fans have waited through black costume, white costume and Age of Apocalypse iterations of the Master of Magnetism, but finally the most recognizable mainstream version of Erik Lehnsherr is ready to storm retail stores: the X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Magneto figure is now available! Is Hasbro delivering a definitive action figure of Magnus? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →New York Comic Con is no longer the collectibles powerhouse of news and reveals that it was prior to the pandemic, but at least one company is still bringing it’s ‘A-Game’ to the event: Diamond Select Toys! And for NYCC 2023, DST brought along two new Marvel Select figures never before shown at public conventions: Marvel Select Archangel and Marvel Select Annihilus!
Continue Reading →Back when I reviewed the X-Men Marvel Legends Gambit figure from the Caliban Series in 2019, I said that “I wouldn’t mind seeing another version of this same figure released” down the road. Hasbro must have taken that to heart, because now they’ve updated and released this Remy twice more! The Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Gambit figure is now available—is the third time the charm that elevates this Gambit to definitive?
Continue Reading →Sentinels being giant freaking killer robots is a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to merch, as every X-Men fan wants one or more—but, well, they’re -giant- freaking robots. And “giant” in the collectibles world is often synonymous with “expensive”. But Hasbro has a clever solution to that accessibility roadblock in their bag of tricks: the low-priced, low-detailed and low-articulated Marvel Titan Hero Series of oversized figures! And so, for the first time in decades, you can order a foot-tall-plus Sentinel for under 30 bucks! Is the X-Men 97 Sentinel Titan Hero figure the value-priced mutant-hunting robot army-builders have been dreaming of?
Continue Reading →X-Men ‘97 is kind of a big deal (as far as streaming superhero cartoons go), and so Hasbro is planning a fairly big rollout of toys to coincide with the eventual release of the series (which is still undated). As such, there’s more on the way than just the 4” series that includes the Rogue I reviewed yesterday—Hasbro unveiled the first wave of a whole new 6” Marvel Legends X-Men 97 series at SDCC 2023, including a half-dozen updated iconic mutants. Let’s take a look…
UPDATE: The whole wave is now up for pre-order as of Aug 3, 2023. Links below…

It’s taken a few… decades… but the continuation of the legendary X-Men The Animated Series (sometimes affectionately referred to as X-Men ‘92) is finally almost upon us (sort of)! There was still no firm premiere date announced at SDCC 2023, but at least we know the series will arrive in the near-ish future. And new show means new toys! In fact, the first X-Men 97 toys have already started shipping, including this 4” X-Men 97 Epic Hero Series Rogue figure I ordered to review…
Continue Reading →San Diego Comic Con 2023 may have been the nexus of the collecting world’s attention last weekend, but there was collecting life going on outside of the event as well! In fact, Medicom Toy made quite a few reveals overseas for their Marvel MAFEX series at the 2023 Medicom Toy Exhibition. And the first two of those reveals have even gone up for pre-ordering already: Marvel MAFEX Phoenix and Comic Version Captain America!
Continue Reading →The eyes of the collecting world are turned to San Diego Comic Con today—but for Diamond Select Toys, it’s just another Pre-order Friday! And this time, they’re putting up for pre-order four new Marvel collectibles they just unveiled at SDCC 2023 earlier this week: Marvel Gallery Magneto, X-23 Wolverine & MCU Vision mini busts and a rare resin statue for classic Beta Ray Bill!
Continue Reading →San Diego Comic-Con is trying to return to form this summer—but while a lot of major exhibitors and movie panels aren’t ready to come back just yet, many toy and collectible companies’ exclusives are! And two of the coolest ones are themed to the X-Men ‘92 cartoon: the X-Men Animated 1/6 Logan and Magneto variant figures from Mondo have now been revealed and go up for sale at the con and online next week!
Continue Reading →New Mutants is my lifelong favorite team comic book, so I was all-in for its successor, Generation X, when it launched in 1994. But Toybiz’s Generation X figure line flopped and was cancelled before Toybiz put out half the team—and Gen X merch has felt like it’s seemingly on some sort of radioactive list since. But finally, 20+ years into the run of Marvel Legends, official toys of Chamber and Monet St. Croix (M) have now been released! Are these X-Men Legends figures worth the decades fans have waited for them?
