When Hasbro released their first 6” Marvel Legends Rogue figure in her 90s Jim Lee costume back in 2017, it was a pretty big deal and a hole-filler for many X-Men collectors. Flash-forward 6+ years, and we’ve had multiple X-Men Legends Rogue figures since. Sentinels being giant freaking killer robots is a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to merch, as every X-Men fan wants one or more—but, well, they’re -giant- freaking robots. And “giant” in the collectibles world is often synonymous with “expensive”. X-Men ‘97 is kind of a big deal (as far as streaming superhero cartoons go), and so Hasbro is planning a fairly big rollout of toys to coincide with the eventual release of the series (which is still undated). New Mutants is my lifelong favorite team comic book, so I was all-in for its successor, Generation X, when it launched in 1994. But Toybiz’s Generation X figure line flopped and was cancelled before Toybiz put out half the team—and Gen X merch has felt like it’s seemingly on some sort of radioactive list since. But finally, 20+ years into the run of Marvel Legends, official toys of Chamber and Monet St. Croix (M) have now been released!
