As one of the five original X-Men, you might think we’d see Warren Worthington III in toy form relatively close in frequency to Cyclops, Jean Grey or even Iceman. But nope! Other than Archangel versions, the last classic Angel 6” Marvel Legends figure was released way back in 2005 (by Toybiz). A whole generation has grown up without a chance to buy a 6” Angel figure! Hasbro has decided that’s too long, and thus the first updated Marvel Legends Angel figure in almost two decades is now up for order!

This DST series has released a plethora of iconic comic and movie characters since it began its run in 2016, and this year the Jim Lee X-Men sub-line began to really take shape. Sentinels being giant freaking killer robots is a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to merch, as every X-Men fan wants one or more—but, well, they’re -giant- freaking robots. And “giant” in the collectibles world is often synonymous with “expensive”. But Hasbro has a clever solution to that accessibility roadblock in their bag of tricks: the low-priced, low-detailed and low-articulated Marvel Titan Hero Series of oversized figures! And so, for the first time in decades, you can order a foot-tall-plus Sentinel for under 30 bucks! X-Men ‘97 is kind of a big deal (as far as streaming superhero cartoons go), and so Hasbro is planning a fairly big rollout of toys to coincide with the eventual release of the series (which is still undated). As such, there’s more on the way than just the 4” series that includes the Rogue I reviewed yesterday—Hasbro unveiled the first wave of a whole new 6” Marvel Legends X-Men 97 series at SDCC 2023, including a half-dozen updated iconic mutants.
