Earlier today, I took notice of the fact that despite it having just hit the United States a couple weeks ago, the Bandai Tamashii Nations Samurai Spider-Man figure has already been heavily discounted online. But while early sales may be an indication that the line is destined to flop in North America, it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon overseas! The third entry in the Marvel Manga Realization figure series, Samurai Captain America, has now been revealed–and this is Cap like we’ve never seen him before!Continue Reading →
UPDATE 10/28/2016: 2016 has already been a pretty epic year for Marvel collectors, with more Hasbro Marvel Legends figures hitting stores than ever before. But it just got a bit more historic!
For the first time ever, an S.H. Figuarts Marvel figure will be available directly in the U.S., and it’s even a figure set that’s only available as a limited web exclusive overseas: the Bandai SH Figuarts Iron Man Mark VI & Hall of Armor Set is now up for order!Continue Reading →
Well, there’s good news and bad news for Bandai SH Figuarts Marvel collectors.
The good news is that Bandai Japan has finally announced that a Black Widow Figuarts figure is actually coming out this fall. The bad news is that the Marvel S.H. Figuarts Black Widow figure won’t be in her updated Civil War costume–instead, we’re getting the prototype shown last year from Avengers: Age of Ultron…Continue Reading →
I collect a few lines of anime figures, so I’ve been watching the Tamashii Nation 2015 event with a lot of interest for those lines. What I don’t imagine anyone was expecting to see at the show, however, was the bombshell dropped by Bandai Japan: the continuation of the SH Figuarts Avengers figures line!
Coming our way in 2016: SH Figuarts Black Widow, Hawkeye, Tony Stark, and… the Hall of Armor?!Continue Reading →
Considering that the grand total number of Marvel villains that Bandai Japan has produced since beginning making MCU SH Figuarts figures with “Iron Man 2” is zero, there hasn’t been a whole lot of expectations that we’d be seeing any villains from this year’s movies created in magnificent Figuarts form. But Avengers: Age of Ultron has been Bandai’s most successful Marvel line–by far, so Bandai is giving us something unexpected: an SH Figuarts Ultron figure has now been revealed!Continue Reading →
When Bandai Japan first debuted their lineup of SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures, there was an imposing shadow in the background that may have generated more discussion and hype than all of the figures Bandai actually showed combined. That silhouette… belong to Hulkbuster Iron Man. Considering the size and sure-to-be-crippling price of such a figure, I was skeptical Bandai Tamashii Nations would tackle such a beast. But it’s true! The monstrous SH Figuarts Hulkbuster Iron Man goes up for order at the end of this month–and he will be coming with a monstrous price to match…Continue Reading →
As Star Wars Celebration Anaheim rolls on overseas, things are definitely not all quiet on the Marvel front! Hot on the heels of the Bandai SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures going up for order earlier this month, Bandai has opened Asian web-only pre-orders for their next exclusive Marvel figure–and this one is going to be a toughie to acquire! It’s the Asian web-only, limited release SH Figuarts War Machine Mark II figure!Continue Reading →
Earlier this week, I discussed the latest Bandai S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Age of Ultron figure to be revealed: Iron Man Mark XLV.
But while Iron Man Mark 45 was just revealed this week, the remaining Avengers SH Figuarts figures that we first saw teased months ago are also finally getting their day in the sun: the SH Figuarts Hulk, Thor and Captain America figures are now up for order!Continue Reading →
Now that we’re less than one month out from the theatrical release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, we’ve seen pretty clear looks at every character design from the movie that isn’t top-secret. Well, every character design except one–until now! While nearly every toy manufacturer out there is repainting old Iron Man Mark 42 collectibles into Mark 43, and everyone is wild for the Mark 44 Hulkbuster Iron Man, poor Mark 45 has slipped through the cracks! But no longer–the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 45 figure has now been fully revealed!Continue Reading →
While Hasbro Marvel Legends reigns supreme as the best 6″ Marvel figure line in the United States, Hasbro has much tougher competition if you broaden your search to international figures. And when it comes to 1/12 action figures (6″ scale), there’s no greater competition than with Bandai SH Figuarts!
Although Bandai previously stuck to Iron Man figures, this year, they’re expanding with a series of SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures…Continue Reading →
When it comes to high-end Iron Man figures, Hot Toys is the undisputed king. But not every collector has the space (or money) to collect an armada of $250+ sixth scale Iron Man figures. For those who prefer smaller and cheaper masterpieces, however, there’s another option for import Iron Man action figures: SH Figuarts. The downside is that it usually takes at least a year and a half for Bandai to release a new Iron Man armor after it appears in a movie. But this time–this time–Bandai is beating even the movie to the punch: the SH Figuarts Iron Man Mark 43 is now up for order!Continue Reading →
After their debut at the Bandai Tamashii Nations Summer Collection 2014 event last month, many Marvel collectors have been waiting restlessly for the latest pair of Bandai S.H. Figuarts Iron Man 3 figures to go up for pre-order. Well, it took a few more weeks than many fans would like, but the day is here. Bandai doesn’t have the rights to distribute these figures in America, so they’ll be a tad expensive, but they come with some very cool first edition exclusive extras! The S.H. Figuarts Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark 42 figures are now up for order!Continue Reading →
As a big anime fan and anime figure collector, the annual Bandai Tamashii Nations collector events are some of my favorite occasions to look forward to. Usually I’m looking forward to these shows for news on Gundam or One Piece or Dragon Ball Z, but the last few years Bandai has also had a slight Marvel presence. And at this weekend’s Bandai Tamshii Nations Summer 2014 Collection event, they finally debuted their first two figures from Iron Man 3: the SH Figuarts Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark 42 figures!Continue Reading →
For the past couple weeks, I feel like all the news has been about Captain America and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Nothing wrong with that–I love Cap and Rocket Raccoon as much as the next guy (okay, I love Rocket more than most), but I also like to see some less-merchandised, obscure characters get the spotlight. This latest news isn’t regarding one of those characters. In fact, it’s a new figure of a character who’s gotten more merch in the past few years than any other. But this is a good one–it’s the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 42 (XLII) figure!Continue Reading →
Sometimes knowing too much about collecting can be a real drag. Case in point being when you you see the term “Tamashii Nation Exclusive” and instantly let out an audible groan because you know how expensive those are to obtain.
Such is what happened today, when I saw the Tamashii Nation Exclusive Iron Man Mark VI Black Ver. figure announced for release in Japan this November…Continue Reading →
